불연속면을 고려한 암반 사면의 안정성 해석

  • 암반사면의 안정성은 암반 내에 발달한 불연속면의 방향성과 파괴특성에 지대한 영향을 받는다. 두 조의 연속성이 좋은 절리가 발달한 암반의 거동을 해석하기 위해 FLAC의 FISH 언어로 작성된 편재 절리모델을 사용하여 절리암반사면의 안정성을 평가하였다. 해석 결과는 절리의 간격과 방향성을 달리하면서 수행된 UDEC 해석과 저면 마찰 모델 시험결과와 비교하였다. UDEC 해석과 저면 마찰 모형시험 의해 발생된 파괴면의 형상은 유사하였으며, 이 결과로부터 편재절리모델에 의한 FLAC 해석에서의 파괴면은 두 조의 교차하는 절리를 따라 계단식으로 파괴면이 발생함을 추정할 수 있었다.

A Crowd Noise Reduction Model for Speech Signal processing (음성 신호처리를 위한 군중잡음 제거 모델)

  • 군중잡음(crowd noise)이 발생하는 환경에서 음성 통화 및 화자 인식을 할 때에는 음성에 파열음이나 마찰음과 같은 유색잡음(colored noise)이 부가되어 원래 음성이 왜곡된다. 이와 같이 왜곡된 음성 신호를 처리할 때에는 군중잡음을 제거하는 과정이 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 군중잡음의 특성을 분석하고, 그 결과를 이용하여 음성 신호처리 시에 효과적으로 군중잡음만을 제거할 수 있는 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 모델은 시간 영역에서는 침묵 구간을 검출하여 마찰음과 파열음을 제거하는 과정과 주파수 영역에서는 잡음 평균을 생성하고 이를 이용한 스펙트럼 차감법(spectral subtraction)으로 군중 잡음을 제거하는 과정으로 이루어진다.

Development of Internal Friction Model in Automotive Constant Velocity Joints (자동차용 등속 조인트의 내부 마찰 모델 개발)

  • An internal friction model was developed to model the frictional behavior of automotive Constant Velocity (CV) joints by using the test data from an instrumented CV joint friction apparatus with actual driveshaft assemblies. Experiments were conduced under different realistic operating conditions of oscillatory speeds, CV joint articulation angles, lubrication, and torque. The experimental data were used to develop a physics-based semi-empirical CV joint internal friction coefficient model as a function of different CV Joint operating parameters. It was found that the proposed friction model captures the experimental results well not only the static behavior of friction coefficient, but also the dynamic friction terms, which is the main source of force that causes vehicle vibration problems.

  • 본 논문에서는 마찰감쇠기가 설치된 건물이 붕괴하중을 받을 때의 에너지소산능력을 고려하여 등가감쇠비를 유도하였다. 마찰감쇠기는 주로 지진과 같은 수평하중에 대한 에너지를 소산하기위해 설치된다. 마찰감쇠기를 대각 가새형으로 설치하면 수평하중에 대한 저항력뿐 만아니라 수직하중에 대한 저항성능도 발휘된다. 건물에 설치된 마찰감쇠기는 외력의 크기에 따라 정지와 운동의 상태를 반복하여 외부 입력에너지를 소산시키기 때문에 외력과 응답관계가 비선형이다. 건물은 고유의 점성감쇠를 가지므로 마찰감쇠기가 설치된 건물은 마찰과 점성감쇠를 동시에 고려해야하므로 해석적인 정해를 구하기가 어렵다. 에너지 평형을 이용하여 등가감쇠비를 구하고 운동방정식을 등가선형화하면 쉽게 저항 성능을 파악할 수 있다. 우선 건물에 영향을 미치는 것은 감쇠이므로 감쇠의 영향력을 마찰력비, ${\gamma}_c$로 나타내었다. 둘째, 정해를 마찰력비로 표현하여 유도하고 응답특성을 파악하였다. 셋째, 에너지 균형식을 통해 등가감쇠비를 산정하였다. 마지막으로 등가감쇠비를 검증하기 위하여 등가감쇠비를 이용하여 등가선형화한 응답과 실제 마찰감쇠기를 설치하여 비선형 수치해석한 결과와 비교, 검증하였다.

Equation for handle assessment of cotton and polyester fabrics using nozzle extraction testing method (노즐시험법을 이용한 면/폴리에스터 직물의 촉감 방정식)

  • Fabric extraction force measured through nozzle tester reflects a comprehensive fabric handle. Nozzle tester takes advantage of low cost, and simple and fast operating procedure compared with KES system. The paper is to develop the semi-emprical equation for assessment of the fabric handle measured with nozzle tester on the basis of friction law. The variables considered in the equation arc fabric's frictional coefficient and drape coefficient which is determined in terms of fabric bending length and shear strain. The experiment of 12 different cotton and polyester fabrics and comparisons between experimental and theoretical results were conducted. Fabrics of high frictional coefficients, high bending length, and low shear strain showed high fabric handle forces (low handle values). The handle forces predicted from the equation agreed well with those measured, which indicates that the equation can be used to objectively evaluate fabric handle with respect to fabric's own properties and also provide an information for fabric design to improve the handle performance.

  • The damping of a shock absorption device composed of nonlinear disk spring stacks and rubber rings was investigated. Friction forces of rubber rings and hysteresis of disk springs were obtained experimentally. The hysteresis curves of several types of disk spring stacks were approximated, from which the energy dissipated was estimated. Based upon the friction force and the energy dissipated, 4 damping models were presented and shock responses of the damping models were investigated. The hysteresis of disk spring is more meaningful than the friction of the rubber ring for the damping. For practical use, equivalent viscous damping model for total energy dissipated per cycle was suggested.

Estimation of Shear Strength Along Concrete Construction Joints Considering the Variation of Concrete Cohesion and Coefficient of Friction (콘크리트 시공줄눈 면에서 점착력 및 마찰계수의 변화를 고려한 전단내력 평가)

  • This paper presents a mathematical model derived from the upper-bound theorem of concrete plasticity to rationally evaluate the shear friction strength of concrete interfaces with a construction joint. The upper limit of the shear friction strength was formulated from the limit state of concrete crushing failure on the strut-and-tie action along the construction joints to avoid overestimating the shear transfer capacity of a transverse reinforcement with a high clamping force. The present model approach proposed that the cohesion and coefficient of friction of concrete can be set to be $0.27(f_{ck})^{0.65}$ and 0.95, respectively, for rough construction joints and $0.11(f_{ck})^{0.65}$ and 0.64, respectively, for smooth ones, where $f_{ck}$ is the compressive strength of concrete. From the comparisons with 155 data compiled from the available literature, the proposed model gave lower values of standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the ratios between predictions and experiments than AASHTO and fib 2010 equations, indicating that the proposed model has consistent trends with test results, unlike the significant underestimation results of such code equations in evaluating the shear friction strength.

  • This study provided the analytical finite element method estimating the friction-induced noise on the complex beam structure. The frictional contact model was theoretically constructed and applied to the analytical finite element squeal model. The numerical results showed that the beam structure was excited by the mode-coupling instability of the specific system modes. Also, the direction of friction was shown to influence on the dynamic instability of the modes. Besides, the unstable modal frequencies estimated from the numerical calculation were validated by the experiment of the actual beam structure.

Feasibility Study of Friction Characteristics for Impact Analysis (충돌 해석 시 마찰 모델 적용을 위한 기초 마찰 시험 연구)

  • Appropriate friction model usage is important for impact analysis because the relative motions between parts that are in contact for very short durations can vary greatly depending on the friction model. Vehicle seat components that have significant effects on impact analysis are also considered. This paper presents an experimental investigation of various material contact pairs to obtain the friction parameters of the Benson exponential friction model for impact simulation. The Coulomb friction model has limitations for impact analysis because of singularity at zero velocity. Metal/nonmetal materials are prepared, and friction tests are conducted for various sliding speeds, loads, and lubrication conditions. The obtained data are used in the friction model to implement finite element analysis. The parameters of the friction model are obtained by the curve-fitting method. The experimental results show that the friction coefficient with metal/nonmetal contact pairs is stable regardless of the working conditions. The friction model used in this study can also be applied for finite element analysis of the crash conditions, where the friction changes abruptly at the contact interface; the obtained friction parameters are also expected to be more accurate with more precise tests under different working conditions. These results can help improve the accuracy of the finite element analysis.
