자동차용 마찰재에 사용되는 결합제와 강화섬유에 따른 마찰 및 마모특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Binder Resins and Reinforcing Fibers in Automotive Friction Materials on Friction and Wear)

  • Friction and wear characteristics of phenolic resin-based friction materials reinforced with aramid pulp and potassium titanate were investigated using a pad-on-disk type friction tester. Friction characteristics such as friction stability, thermal stability, and wear rate varied according to the type of phenolic resins and the relative amount of aramid pulp and potassium titanate. The modified novolac resin-based friction materials showed better heat resistance and friction stability than those with the unmodified(straight) novolac resin. Compared with friction materials filled with potassium titanate or aramid pulp only, the friction materials reinforced with both aramid pulp and potassium titanate showed good friction stability and wear resistance. Increment of aramid pulp from 10 to 20 vol.% however, showed little difference in friction stability.

이온소스법에 의한 DLC막의 제작 및 기계적 특성

  • Si(중간층)/DLC(diamond-like carbon)막은 스퍼터와 이온소스(ion source)법에 의한 복합방식(hybrid method)을 이용하여 3mTorr의 반응가스 벤젠($C_6H_6$)분위기에서 Si wafer에 기판온도 $130^{\circ}C$로 180분간 증착하였다. 평가는 표면과 단면에 대해 주사전자현미경(scanning electron microscopy, SEM)과 투자전자현미경(trasmission electron microsope, TEM)으로 관찰하였다. 경도와 마찰계수는 나노인텐터(nanoindetor)와 마모시험기를 이용하였으며, 박막의 구조는 라만스펙트럼으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 박막의 두께는 약 $0.9{\mu}m$, 표면조도는 약 $0.34{\sim}1.64nm$로 평탄한 표면을 가지며 경도는 약 $35{\sim}37GPa$, 마찰계수는 약 $0.02{\sim}0.07$로 관찰되었다. 라만분광법과 전자회절패턴에 의해 IG/ID의 함량비는 $0.54{\sim}0.59$$sp^2$$sp^3$가 혼재된 전형적인 비정질 구조임을 확인하였다.

  • The thermal and friction characteristics of phenolic resin and model friction materials were investigated with the content of acrylonitrilebutadienerubber(NBR). The thermal characteristics of material was performed by dynamic mechanical thermal analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The friction and wear characteristics of the material were determined by using friction material testing machine. The results show that with the more content of rubber, the loss modulus of friction material was increased. The friction coefficient and the specific wear rate with various NBR contents were reported.

중공의 Tribology

  • 중공이 성립된것이 1949년 10월이며, 그후 1952년부터 5개년계획의 공업건설이 시작되어, 소련으로 부터 돌아온 연구자와 기술자가 중심이 되어 과학원소층의 연구소 (장춘광학정밀기계연구소 등), 대학((청화대학 등)및 각공업부의 연구소에서 본격적인 연구가 시작되었다. 그후 1962년에 전국 Tribology 회의를 처음으로 난주에서 열고, 100편의 논문이 발표되었다. 그후 중소관계악화, 1965년말에 발표된 문화혁명의 영향을 받아 사실상 연구는 완전히 스톱된 상태가 되고 말았다. 그후 천안문사건, 그리고 사인조실각의 이듬해인 1977년 연구지도등의 명을 받고, 마찰, 마모, 윤활의 연구를 재개하게 되었다.

  • The metal-dithiophosphates as lubricant additives for reducing friction and wear, increasing load-carrying capacity and a antioxidant are very important as new additives developed in these day. The synthetic results of Metal-DTPs were described. The wear test was conducted with 4-Ball machine and wear debris were analyzed by ferrography. The tribological performances of Metal-DTPs were compared with Zn-DTP.

  • Friction and wear characteristics of gear oils added load carrying aditives, JS and DBP have been invesitigated using Shell Four Ball Tester and Cygnus and also compared with commercial gear oil. The Gear oil added DBP among them showed excellent friction and wear performances, which is deduced by action mechanism of additives. The surface analysis of the worn balls was conducted using an optical microscope.

  • Recently, the friction and wear behaviors of UHMWPE, ceramic and metal is being researched actively for the use as an artificial hip-joint. In this study, because of good wear properties of carbon fiber, we made experiments about the friction and wear of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite under the lubricative and the dry condition. The possibilities of carbon-carbon composite for the artificial hip joint application was studied from this results.

  • In this paper some physical evidences indicate that reduced friction occurs in an cryogenic machining process, in which LN2 is applied to the selected cutting zone. LN2 also reduced the tool wear rate to a great extent and elongated the tool life up to four times compared to emulsion cooling.

  • Sliding wear test and surface characterization techniques such as micro-Raman spectroscopy were employed to determine the effect of whisker content and orientation on the friction and wear behavior of SiC whisker reinforced alumina. Composites containing unidirectionally oriented whiskers were fabricated by novel technique Addition of SiC whiskers up to 20 vol.% lowered the friction and improved wear resistance. The results of this study indicated that highly disordered graphite and size of the layer behind the whiskers were responsible for variation of wear rate and friction coefficient.
