  • This study is a result of laboratory work about abrasion of artificial lightweight concrete and normal concrete in an equal condition, although the bigger a percentage of W/B is, the more increasing artificial lightweight concrete's persentage of loss, in case of mixing Flyash, artificial lightweight concrete percentage of loss is decreasing and in case of mixing W/B 30% and Flyash 15%, the difference of artificial lightweight concrete and normal concrete's percentage of loss is about 3%, there is little difference.

The Effect of Mn on the Elevated Temperature Sliding Wear Behavior of Fe-20Cr-1C-1Si Hardfacing Alloy (Fe-20Cr-1C-1Si 경면처리 합금의 고온 Sliding 마모거동에 미치는 Mn의 영향)

  • Fe계 합금의 적층결함에너지를 감소시키는 것으로 알려진 Mn이 Fe-20Cr-1C-Si 경면처리 합금의 변형유기 상변태거동과 상온 및 고온 마모저항성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 15ksi의 접촉응력에 대하여 0~25wt.% Mn을 첨가한 시편은 모두 상온에서 마모손실량이 적은 우수한 마모저항성을 보였는데 Mn 첨가량이 5wt.% 이하인 시편의 경우 마모표면에서 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태가 발생한 반면 15wt.% 이상 Mn을 첨가한 시편에서는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 25$0^{\circ}C$까지 고온 마모시험결과 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태가 발생한 5wt.% 이하 Mn 첨가시편은 Mn 첨가량이 증가할수록 마모손실량이 증가하는 것으로 보아 Mn 첨가는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태에 있어서 고온 마모저항성을 저하시키는 것으로 생각되며 이는 Mn이 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태의 M(sub)d 온도를 감소시키기 때문으로 생각된다. 반면에 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태가 일어난 15wt.% 이상 Mn 첨가 시편의 경우 Mn 첨가량 증가에 따른 고온 마모손실량의 차이가 없는 것으로 보아 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$변형유기 상변태는 ${\gamma}$$\longrightarrow$$\alpha$\`변형유기 상변태에 비해 온도의 존성이 적은 것으로 생각된다.

Wear Characteristics According of Heat Treatment of Si3N4 with Different Amounts of SiO2 Nano-Colloid (SiO2 나노 콜로이드 량이 다른 Si3N4의 열처리에 따른 마모 특성)

  • This study sintered $Si_3N_4$ with different amounts of $SiO_2$ nano-colloid. The surface of a mirror-polished specimen was coated with $SiO_2$ nano-colloid, and cracks were healed when the specimen was treated at a temperature of 1273 K for 1 h in air. Wear specimen experiments were conducted after heat treatments for 10 min at 1073, 1273, and 1573 K. The heat-treated surface that was coated with the $SiO_2$ nano-colloid was slightly rougher than the noncoated surface. The oxidation state of the surface according to the heat treatment temperature showed no correlation with the surface roughness. Moreover, the friction coefficient, wear loss, and bending strength were not related to the surface roughness. $Si_3N_4$ exhibited an abrasive wear behavior when SKD11 was used as an opponent material. The friction coefficient was proportional to the wear loss, and the bending strength was inversely proportional to the friction coefficient and wear loss. The friction coefficient and wear loss increased with increasing amounts of the $SiO_2$ nanocolloid. In addition, the friction coefficient was slightly increased by increasing the heat treatment temperature.

Durability evaluation depending on the insert size of conical Picks by the field test (삽입재 크기에 따른 코니컬 커터의 현장 내구성 평가 연구)

  • In this study, the durability of conical pick cutter was compared and analyzed by pre- and post-test visual inspection, measurement of weight loss and wear volume through field test on two types of conical pick cutters applied to rotary drum cutter. In the visual inspection, it was found that only 9 inserts were lost in the slim type conical pick cutter. This result show that the thickness of the head cover surrounding a insert was important to maintain the insert during excavation. The weight loss and wear volume of the heavy type conical pick cutter were less than half that of the slim type. From these results, it can be confirmed that heavy type is more useful than slim type in hard rock. It should be noted that, when determining the wear loss of the conical pick cutter, the mutual comparison of the weight measurement and the wear volume measurement results may be different due to the unit weight of the material and the spalling caused by excavation.

  • 고품위의 동력전달 장치와 같은 고정밀 기능 부품들은 보다 높은 비강도, 고경도, 내마모성 및 내식성을 가져야 하며, 특히 소재의 마찰, 마모 특성은 기아제품 등의 수명, 정밀도 및 에너지 손실을 좌우하는 것으로서 물성의 열화를 극복할 수 있는 소재의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 지난 수년동안 금속기지에 $Al_2O_3$나 SiC등의 보강재를 첨가하여 복합재의 응착 및 연삭마모에 대한 저항성을 향상시키는 시도를 하고 있다. 주로 제조비용이 낮고 거의 등방적인 성질을 가지며 가공성이 좋은 입자 보강 복합재료에 대한 연구가 지배적이었지만, 입자 보강 복합재료의 경우 강도 및 탄성계수의 향상 정도가 적다는 단점을 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 분말야금법을 이용하여 금속기지에 세라믹상으로 SiC 입자 및 휘스커가 첨가된 복합재를 제조하여 제조공정변수에 따라 마모거동을 pin-on-disk 형태의 마모시험기에서 실험하였으며, 주사전자현미경으로 마모표면관찰 등으로 복합재의 마모기구를 연구하였다.

Characteristics of Elastic Wave Generated by Wear and Friction of SiCf/SiC Composites (SiCf/SiC 복합재의 마모 및 마찰에 의해 발생된 탄성파 특성)

  • The wear characteristics of $SiC_f$/SiC composites were evaluated according to the alignment direction of the fibers, and the elastic wave-generated friction was detected and analyzed in wearing. The friction coefficient and wear loss were similar in the longitudinal and the transverse direction of the fibers. However, these values were lower in the vertical direction of the fibers because of the brittle nature of the fiber. The friction coefficient and the wear loss were directly proportional to each other. The dominant frequencies were 58.6 kHz for monolithic SiC and 117.2 and 136.7 kHz for $SiC_f$/SiC composites, respectively.

  • Friction and abrasion behaviors were investigated for SBR rubber compounds reinforced by silica and carbon black. Knife-blade abrader, newly designed based on tearing energy theory, was utilized in order to evaluate the effect of frictional work on the wear rate of the rubber compounds. It was found that the power law relation between frictional work and wear rate worked, in which as the wear rate was increased as frictional work increased. The wear rate could be determined successfully using the knife-blade abrader in which a moving distance of the knife blade in the process of wearing was measured continuously, instead of intermittent measurements of weight loss by wear during experiment.

Wear Behavior of C/B filled NR Compounds using a Blade-type Abrader (칼날형 마모시험기를 이용한 C/B충전 NR 배합고무의 마모거동)

  • Friction and wear behaviors of natural rubber(NR) compounds were investigated using a blade-type abrader. The effects of temperature, normal load, and rotation speed on wear rate were studied, and wear behaviors of deteriorated compounds were also evaluated. As the rotation speed of specimen and the normal load to specimen increased, the wear rate increased. However, as the experimental temperature increased, the frictional coefficient decreased and the wear rate decreased accordingly. It was found from the wear studies that a power-law relation works between the frictional work input and the wear rate. It was observed that the wear rate dramatically increased by the degradation of the rubber specimen. The wear pattern was developed and the bigger ridge space of the pattern was observed usually in the higher normal load applied. In determining the wear rate of rubber compound, the continuous measurements of wear distance using the blade-type abrader could be successfully used instead of intermittent measurements of wear-loss weight.
