  • We develop a remote control system of a walking robot using a Leap motion sensor. Hand gestures and the position of fingers are provided from the Leap motion sensor. We use Processing and the LeapMotionP5 library for the development software.

  • 최근 사람들이 쉽고 편하게 컴퓨터 시스템과 상호작용할 수 있는지에 관한 HCI(Human-Computer Interaction)의 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이러한 변화에 맞추어, 사각 평면 창을 대체할 차세대 기재 가운데 하나로 떠오른 홀로그램과 사람의 손의 동작을 인식하는 3D 모션 입력장치 립모션(Leap-Motion)을 결합하여 새로운 인터랙션을 제시한다.

  • 사회적 약자인 청각장애인들의 수화통역 서비스가 대체로 만족스럽게 제공되고 있지 않다. 또한 청각 장애인수 대비 수화통역가의 부족과 일반인과의 즉각적인 소통이 어려워 일상생활에 불편함을 느끼는 청각장애인들이 많다. 이의 문제점을 착안하여 본 연구에서는 청각장애인들이 휴대할 수 있는 수화 통역기를 개발하고자 한다. 청각장애인들의 손동작을 인식할 수 있는 3D센서 립모션(Leap-Motion)을 통해 수화를 인식한다. 립모션 센서와 안드로이드 스마트폰 및 태블릿과 연결하여 손 데이터 값을 분석했다. 분석한 손 데이터 값과 특정 지화(자음, 모음)와 간단한 인사말의 수화동작을 취할 때, 트래킹되는 데이터 값을 비교하여 수화를 인식하고 수화와 인식된 지화의 자음과 모음을 글자로 완성시켜, 텍스트와 음성으로 출력한다. 또한 립모션이 부착된 하드케이스 안에 스마트기기 탈착이 가능한 실용성 있는 수화통역기 제품 개발에 대한 연구를 목표로 하고 있다.

Development of Interactive Signage using Floating Hologram (플로팅 홀로그램을 이용한 인터랙티브 사이니지 개발)

  • We have developed an interactive signage system based on floating hologram by combining hologram technology and ICT technology, which can be competitive to small businesses that have excellent products and services. The developed interactive signage system can be used for publicity and marketing of small business owners at low cost, introducing menus with 3D hologram images, and providing various contents responding to user's hand movements. The developed system is able to detect 10 finger movements at a rate of 290 frames per second in a range of 60cm and a range of 150 degrees. We also confirmed that the virtual touch function operates normally by dividing the user's motion recognition into the hover zone and the touch zone by the physical motion experiment of the leap motion object.

  • Some studies require sufficient amount of time, spaces, and financial condition for practical exercises and training. In particular for the Medical education, time and space limitation is very high and difficulties occurs, since the practices are done with cadavers (deceased human body). Many alternate 3D Virtual surgery training system exist currently, however the burdensome of obtaining those costly equipments is problematic. Providing the surgical environment as similar to real as possible using 3D Virtual Reality can be a solution to current problems. The effectiveness of training could be maximized with minimized costs without the general interfaces such as keyboard and mouse, but with Oculus Rift and Leap Motion. This paper will develop and practice the 3D Virtual Operation System with two devices to investigate the possibility and expand to other Simulation fields.

  • 수부는 일상생활동작(ADL, activities of daily living)을 위한 중요 부위로 손상이나 장애가 있는 경우 재활치료를 통해 과제수행능력을 향상시킨다. 그러나 치료 과정은 주관적으로 진행되어 정확한 치료 성과를 위한 객관적 지표가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 실제 수부 움직임을 추적할 수 있는 동작인식 장비인 립모션 컨트롤러와 Unity3D로 가상공간 상에서 구현된 Box&Block Test를 이용하여 수부 움직임에 대한 객관적인 데이터를 얻었다. 기존 Box&Block Test와 제안한 모션인식과 추적에 의한 수지손상 환자용 진단 및 치료시스템의 성능을 T검정 수행한 결과 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없음을 보였으며 수부 움직임의 정량적인 데이터를 통해 정확한 치료성과 판단의 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper aims at providing a shooter game interface which enhances the game's realism by recognizing user's hand gestures using the Leap Motion. In this paper, we implemented the functions such as shooting, moving, viewpoint change, and zoom in/out, which are necessary in shooter games, and confirmed through user test that the game interface using familiar and intuitive hand gestures is superior to the conventional mouse/keyboard in terms of ease-to-manipulation, interest, extendability, and so on. Specifically, the user satisfaction index(1~5) was 3.02 on average when using the mouse/keyboard interface and 3.57 on average when using the proposed hand gesture interface.

  • These days, with the advent of digital broadcasting, media environment offers users an opportunity to enjoy differentiated contents in a more aggressive fashion through user-media interactions based on computer technology. In fact, the development of contents which can induce spontaneous acts from users such as outdoor ads which use certain sensors and devices and exhibition halls has been active. With the development of low-price motion recognition devices, people have been able to enjoy diverse interaction-applied media by recognizing users' motion data without body contact. In this paper, we developed an interactive media player that can recognize the user's motion and control the video in the web service environment without installing a specific program. In addition, we set user motion recognition range and developed a user motion recognition algorithm suitable for the Leap Motion equipment installed in the kiosk. The results of this study can be experienced by various interactive media such as interactive tourism, education, and movie contents in kiosks that can be installed in public places.

  • The development of advanced technology gives us many problems. In mentally view point, the major one is depression. Depression appears in various forms. In worst case, it leads into suicide. This study designs and develops a new type of healing content which the convergence in the virtual space, Movement of Thought, Head Mounted Display, Leap Motion, Color Therapy, Music Therapy methods in order to improve the symptoms of depression. The developed convergence content will be effective in healing methods instead of the existing medication relieve depression and improve self-esteem of patients with depression. Future research will try to apply the clinical development of a prototype content.

  • The patients who have illness of hand and upper limb should be received rehabilitation treatment to recover such illness. The rehabilitation treatments is a treatments designed to facilitate the process of recovery from injury, illness, or disease to as normal a condition as possible. This should be done continuously and repeatedly. In this paper, we describe hand-rehabilitation system which provides a treatment method improving and recovering the function of injured hands. Expecially, this system is using a leap motion device which can easily and properly identify and trace a hand motion and provide six treatment patterns for hand rehabilitation. By using this system, the patients can do rehabilitation treatment easily and continuously in their daily life and in result, the achievement of treatment will be improved.
