A Study on Software algorithm for Processing n-key roll-over at Matrix Keyboard (매트릭스 구성 키보드의 n-키 롤-오버 처리를 위한 소프트웨어 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a software algorithm that can configure n-key roll-over that detects all keys without limitation on the number of pressed keys in the dynamic scanning detection of a keyboard composed of a matrix. The proposed algorithm uses the timer interrupt of the microcontroller for computer keyboard control, so that a constant and accurate detection interval can be obtained, and an accurate debounce time can be provided. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, a microcontroller was connected to a toy keyboard constructed in the form of a clavier and experiments were conducted. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that detection of all keys was performed accurately regardless of the number of keys pressed.

  • Considering an integral equation governing the motion of unfolding fin, an algebraic equation was acquired to get estimated minimum deployment energy required for the successful fin unfolding under the given wind condition. To complete the integration of moment, some approximations had to be introduced particularly to frictional moment and aerodynamic damping for which deployment angular speed of the unfolding fin was modelled as a function of deployment angle only with assumed profile using expected maximum angular speed. Technique for the estimation of the minimum required deployment energy was finalized by introducing the ideal deployment angular speed representing work done by the fin unfolding device alone during fin unfolding and was confirmed by comparing results from simulation with various aerodynamic conditions and profiles of the hinge torque.

Moisture Content Change and Heat Distribution Characteristics of Veneer Heated by Microwave (마이크로파 가열 단판의 함수율 변화 및 열분포 특성)

  • The analysis of shape before and after heating, Surface moisture content, Moisture weight change and surface heat distribution by fixed type microwave heating in forms of flat veneer and veneer roll of Korean pine, pitch pine, larch and yellow poplar was conducted. The results were as follows: In case of flat veneer, the quality after microwave heating was comparatively good, but it was somewhat warped. These phenomena may be due to transformation by nonuniform drying stress and stronger effect of local irradiation on the veneers when heating veneer owing to the characteristics of fixed type microwave equipment. In case of the features of roll-shaped veneer heated by microwave, the quality after heating was comprehensively excellent. Especially there was no warping unlike flat veneer. Heat distribution and diffusion were also very stable for roll-shaped veneer and such heat distribution had much influence on surface moisture content and moisture weight loss. Accordingly, the veneer roll would show sufficient drying efficiency in fixed type microwave equipment through a scrutinized examination on generating power and irradiation time according to species and thickness of veneer.

  • The behaviors of combustion-induced internal flows of SRM equipped with fin-slot grain and submerged nozzle are very complex and diverse. Cold air-flow tests for 2D and 3D scale models of SRM have been done in order to specify the visualization method to analyze particular internal flow patterns such as roll-torque inducing flow. Swirl flow induced by asymmetric vortical tubes also has been visualized through employing various light source and recording directions.

  • We report the development of an optical micro-nanolithography method by using a roll-type mask. It includes phase-shift lithography and photolithography for realizing various target dimensions. For sub-wavelength resolution, a structure is achieved using the near-field exposure of a photoresist through a cylindrical phase-mask, allowing high-throughput continuous patterning. By using a film-type metal mask, continuous photolithography was achieved, and this method could be used to control the period of resultant patterns in real time by changing the rotating speed of the cylinder mask. As an application, we present the fabrication of a transparent electrode in the form of a metallic mesh by using the developed roll-type photolithography process. As a result, a transparent conductor with good properties was achieved by using a recently built cylindrical phase-shift lithography prototype, which was designed for patterning on 100-mm2 substrates.

  • The geometrically similar swiss roll reactors of different physical sizes were tested with the aim of independently determining the effects of Re and Da. It is found that the difference between catalytic and non-catalytic combustions extinction limits are narrowed as scale decreases. In addition to assess the importance of fuel chemistry, different families of fuels including alkanes and ethers were tested. From these results the effect of scale and fuel type on microscale reactor performance and implications for practical micro combustion devices are discussed.

  • In the line array roll set (LARS) process, the initial plate is progressed into the final shape in a stepwise or pathwise manner according to the basic principle of the incremental forming process. The deformation proceeds simultaneously in the longitudinal and transverse directions. It was found that the curvature level of the formed plates in the previous study was well over the curvature required in shipyards. This fact shows that the LARS method has considerable potential for shipbuilding applications. In this study, several experiments with the LARS system is carried out fur manufacturing of plates with large curvatures. The bulbs at a stem and stern among ship hull plates correspond to these plates. Furthermore, the qualities of formed plates are evaluated according to the types of roll arrangements through experimental and numerical analyses.

Effect of Taper Tension Profiles on Radial Stress of a Wound Roll in Roll-to-roll Winding Process (롤투롤 와인딩 시스템에서 테이퍼 장력과 감김롤 응력분포에 관한 연구)

  • Winding is an integral operation in almost every roll-to-roll continuous process and center-winding is suitable and general scheme in the winding system. However, the internal stresses within center-wound rolls can cause damage such as buckling, spoking, cinching, etc. It is therefore necessary to analyze the relationship between taper tension in winding section and internal stress distribution within center-wound roll to prevent the winding failure. In this study, an optimal taper tension control method with parabolic taper tension profile for producing high quality wound roll was developed. The new logic was designed from analyzing the winding mechanism by using the stress model in center-wound rolls. The performance of the proposed taper tension profile was verified experimentally.
