말뚝기초의 내진설계

  • 최근 우리나라에서도 지진으로 인한 재해를 최소한으로 감소 또는 방지하기 위하여 일반 건축 구조물의 내진설계를 의무화 하도록 규정하고 있다. 그러나 지진하중에 대한 지반-말뚝-구조물 시스템의 내진해석과 설계는 아직도 완전하게 정립되지 못한 실정이며, 지금까지 우리나라에서 원자력발전소, 해양구조물 등과 같은 특수 구조물과 몇몇 고층건물을 제외한 대부분의 일반 건축물에 대한 말뚝의 설계도 지반의 동적특성을 제대롤 반영하지 않는 정적해석이 수행되고 있다. 그렇지만 정적하중과 지진하중의 하중특성은 근본적인 차이가 있으므로 이에 대한 설계를 추가하여야 한다. 따라서 본 고에서는 깊은 기초의 내진설계에 적용하기 위해 이제까지 연구발표된 여러가지 내진해석방법을 간략하게 소개하고 이를 비교, 검토함으로써 동적특성을 어느정도 반영하는 실용적인 설계법을 제시하고자 한다.

An Ethnographic Study on the Digital Literacy Practices of Role-Players in a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (대규모 멀티 플레이어 온라인 롤 플레잉 게임 참여자의 디지털 리터러시 활용 관행에 관한 민족지학적 연구)

  • Various digital literacy and critical competencies are crucial for success in the information and media-rich 21st century game of life. This study explores and describes the digital literacy practices of role-players in WildStar, a science fantasy Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Active role-players create and participate in group-driven interactive stories while in-character. A hybrid ethnographic method integrating overt participant observation and engagement, collection of community artifacts across multiple sites (such as wikis, discussion boards, and social media), and semi-structured interviews was employed to understand how role-players seek, use, evaluate, and manage information, media, and technology. Role-players used various media and technologies to supplement, simplify, and make role-playing more immersive. The relative digital literacy skill levels of individuals varied, leading role-players to leverage the skills of more proficient or experienced community members. Given the broad appeal of online games and educational benefits of role-playing, implications and applications for digital literacy skills instruction and library programming are also discussed.

Development of Air Cleaning Roll-Filter for Improving IAQ in Subway (도시철도 객실 공기질 개선을 위한 롤필터 개발연구)

  • In a modern society, various type of transportation modes are utilized, among them the subway system is the one of the main transportation mode which more than 7.21 million people ride a day in Seoul. Due to the increased interests on the indoor air quality (IAQ) of underground facilities, public concerns on IAQ of subway system are increasing also. Platform screen door (PSD) recently installed at the whole stations of Seoul subway and tunnel washing-out appeared to be effective in reducing particulate matters in the platform and tunnel. However there has not been any attempt to improve IAQ of subway cabin inside. Most technologies for removing airborne particulate matters are known to be difficult to adopt on the subway cabin due to the problem of maintenance cost. Therefore, the object of this study is a practical development of cabin air cleaning system which can reduce the concentration of airborne particles and harmful gases at the same time. In this paper, we focused on the development of particle removing system utilizing a roll-filter for increasing operating time of air filter. The prototype of system was designed and manufactured based on the numerical prediction results. For rollfilter device, 5 candidate filter materials were tested in point of particle collection efficiency and pressure drop. It was found that the electrically charged filter material showed the highest performance among them.
