  • This paper investigates the whirling, tilting and flying motion of a HDD spindle system supported by FDB experimentally. Experimental setup is built to measure the flying, whirling and tilting motion of the HDD spindle system, and three capacitance probes fixed on the xyz-micrometers measure the displacement of a HDD spindle system in the xyz-directions. This research shows that the tilting and whirling motion is mostly dependent on the centrifugal force and the gyroscopic moment due to the unbalanced mass of a HDD spindle. It also shows that the rotating HDD spindle starts to float to the equilibrium position in the z-direction until the weight of the rotating spindle is equal to the supporting pressure generated in the upper and lower thrust bearing.

PCB드릴링용 공기베어링 스핀들의 런아웃(RunOut)에 따른 가공 홀의 형상변화 (Drilled Hole Variation of Air Bearing Spindle for PCB according to RUNOUT)

  • In this study, we measured cylindricity and Runout of the air bearing spindle, and tested PCB(printed circuit boards) drilling with 0.4mm micro drill at 90,000rpm and 110,000rpm in order to obtain drilling hole error. Results are as follows; The air bearing spindle's Runout was not so high within $10\mu{m}$ from 20,000rpm to 80,000rpm but it grew after 80,000rpm. Drilling hole size error was 9% at 80,000rpm and 12% at 110,000rpm because of spindle's Run out. Drilled hole shape falsified more 110,000rpm than 90,000rpm.

  • 엔드밀 가공 공정은 항공산업과 자동차 부품 및 금형 가공 산업에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 정형가공 (near net shape) 기술의 발달에 따라 금형 가공시 허용공차 이내로 표면 오차를 유지하면서 가공시간을 감소시킬 필요성이 증대되었고 이에 따라, 절삭과정을 정확히 나타냄으로써 최종표면 형상을 정확히 예측할 수 있는 절삭모델을 통해 표면형성 예측 시뮬레이터의 개발 필요성이 있어왔다. 본 논문에서는 주어진 절삭조건에서 공구의 처짐과 런아웃을 고려한 절삭력 모델에 대하여 절삭력과 표면형성 데이터를 코딩된 포트란 프로그램에서 얻고 이것을 MFC와 연동시켜 예측 결과를 쉽게 확인할 수 있는 초보단계의 시뮬레이터 개발에 대하여 연구하였다.(중략)

  • 디스크마다 일정영역을 할당하여 위치정보를 기록하는 임베디드 서보방식 하드디스크는 데이터가 저장되는 데이터 영역사이에서 스핀들 런아웃, 공진과 디스크 플러터 등에 의하여 Gaussian 분포를 가지는 트랙에서 벗어나는 오차를 가지게 된다. 더높은 저장밀도와 빠른 기록속도를 요구함에 따라서 디스크의 회전속도가 올라감에 의한 디스크 면진동에 의한 헤드 위치오차가 중요하게 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 헤드위치 오차량을 계산하기 위하여 고속탐색이 가능한 수정된 Barasch의 수치해석법, 유한요소법, 그리고 실험을 통하여 적용가능성을 확인하였으며 같은 드라이브내에서 디스크의 사이즈를 바꿈에 의한 디스크 동특성의 해석과 변환율을 이용하여 오류가 발생할 수 있는 트랙 벗어남과 저장밀도의 상관관계를 살펴보았다.

  • Spindle state monitoring is getting more and more important according to the technology trend of spindle that is accurate and automated. Spindle state monitoring is to measure the state of rotation vibrations. The spindle rotation error motion detected by sensing device includes rotation object's unbalance, external forced vibrations, shape error of spindle, as well as measuring error of monitoring device. In this paper, we have inspected the runout characteristics. Also, we introduce the way to exclude the runout element that appear while you monitor a spindle state.

  • In end milling process, the undeformed chip section area and cutting forces vary periodically with phase change of the tool. However the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to cutter runout and tool shape error. In this study ,a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented in up end milling process using measured cutting forces. Size effect was identified from the analysis of specific cutting resistance obtained by using the modified undeformed chip section area.

  • In this paper, It does the profile measurement of the cam of diesel engine SOHC of the actual object. It uses the measurement of run-out method. This method is that the surface of the object is measured by the sensor when the object rotate, and calculated and displayed by the computer the signal which acquired by sensor. When we acquire the signals, we have two error because of motion and contacting between cam and probe. In this paper, we compensate the motion error while simply liner equation. And we have a solution that we change the figure of probe when we have a contacting error. We compared the data measuring on developed automatic cam profile measuring system with the data measured on CMM.

초고밀도 디스크 드라이브를 위한 반 진공 작동 환경에서 서보 트랙 기록 방법에 의한 RRO 저감에 대한 연구 (Repeatable Run-out Reduction by Servo Track Writing in Semi-vacuum Condition for Ultra-high TPI Disk Drive)

  • In high-capacity disk drives with ever-growing track density, the allowable level of position error signal(PES) is becoming smaller and smaller. In order to achieve the high TPI(track per inch) disk drive, it is necessary to improve the writing accuracy during the servo track writing(STW) Process through the reduction of track mis-registration sources. Among the main contributors of the non-repeatable runout(NRRO) PES, the disk vibration and the head-stack assembly vibration is considered to be one of the most significant factors. Also the most contributors of repeatable runout(RRO) come from the contributors of NRRO which is written-in at the time of STW process. In this paper, the effect of NRRO on servo written-in RRO is Investigated by experimentally, and the experimental result shows that the written-in RRO can be effectively reduced through a STW process under low dense medium condition such as semi-vacuum.

  • This paper presents theoretical analysis of the NRRO(non-repeatable run-out) for a ball bearing with geometric imperfection. The 3DOF dynamic analysis of a ball bearing using the Newton-Raphson method is performed to calculate the displacement of shaft center. Frequency and magnitude characteristics of radial and axial vibrations are investigated. The ball form errors of the ball, the inner race, and the outer race in a HDD spindle ball bearing are precisely measured. NRRO of a ball bearing is analyzed by using the measured waviness data. It is concluded that dominant components of radial vibrations are ${\Large}f_c\;and\;2{\Larg}f_b{\pm}{\Large}f_c$, and dominant component of axial vibrations is $2{\Large}f_b$. These are generated by the size error and the second waviness of the balls.

In this study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects cutter runout and tool shape error was presented during up-end milling of Inconel 718 using measured cutting forces. The specific cutting resistance, K. and $K_t$ are defined as the radial and tangential cutting forces divided by the modified chip section area. Both of $K_r$, and $K_t$ values become smaller as the helix angle increases from $30^\circ$ to $40^\circ$ Whereas they become larder as the helix angle increases from $40^\circ$ to $50^\circ$. On the other hand, the $K_r$, and $K_t$ values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area and this tendency becomes distinct with smaller helix angle.
