V형 유입구에 안내깃을 포함한 액체 램제트 엔진 연소실의 3차원 비반응 및 반응 유동 해석

  • 액체 램제트 엔진의 V형 유입구에 3개의 안내깃이 있은 경우에 대하여 유동 해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석에 앞서 본 연구에서는 ONERA에서 발표한 고체 램제트 연소기에 대한 실험 결과를 유동 해석 결과와 비교하여 해석의 정확성을 검증하였다. 안내깃에 의하여 연소실로 유입되는 공기는 유입구 곡관에서 효율적인 흐름을 유지할 수 있고 분사되는 연료의 분포도 제어될 수 있다. 안내깃의 두께가 큰 경우 자칫 유입되는 공기의 흐름을 방해하는 장애물의 역할을 할 수 있으므로 두께의 변화에 대한 영향도 계산하였으나 선정된 안내깃에 의한 연소실에서의 유동특성 변화는 적은 것으로 나타났다. 입구조건을 균일 유동으로 주고 해석한 결과, 연소실에서의 유동은 안내깃의 유무에 따라 큰 영향을 받지 않았다. 그러나 흡입구로 유입되는 공기의 속도 분포는 다양한 비행조건에서 균일하지 않기 때문에 주 유동을 방해하지 않는 안내깃의 설치는 연소실에서의 좀 더 안정된 화염의 생성을 위해 필요하다.

  • High-resolution numerical study is carried out to investigate the flame stability of the turbulent supersonic combustion in a Dual-Combustion Ramjet (DCR). The auto-ignition in a shear layer between hydrogen/carbon-monoxide syngas and air was studied at elevated enthalpy condition. Comparison of a constant area combustor and a combustor with a small divergence angle shows that the supersonic combustion has a characteristics of the lifted flame and its stability is influenced significantly by the compressibility.

  • Optimal shape of a typical ramjet intake is examined numerically to maximize the total pressure recovery. A response surface method is introduced to approximately predict its performance with respect to the design parameters over the each design domain. The first deflection angle of ramp, the area of inlet throat, and the diffuser angle are chosen as a design parameter. ANOVA is used to verify the trustability of the achieved response surface. The total pressure recovery of the optimum model, compared to that of the base model, is increased by 36%. The loss of viscosity through the diffuser is estimated less than 5%.

  • Ejector system are used to transport a low momentum flow to the higher pressure flow by the momentum change between high and low momentum flows. This system is used to simulate the high altitude and Mach number condition over altitude 20 km and Mach 4 of the supersonic test facility. We applied the design and the performance analysis technique(EISIMP code) of the Ramjet Test Facility(RJTF) air system in JAXA to the ejector system of the ramjet test facility in KARI. After preliminary design of the ejector system, we performed a computational study using FLUENT and investigated shock structures and flow characteristics of the ejector system.

  • Supersonic combustion phenomena in the main combustor of a dual combustion ramjet (DCR) engine are studied numerically. Since the supersonic combustion is affected significantly by the compressibility effects parametric studies have been carried out for the constant are length and the divergence angle. Numerical studies with fixed inflow condition for different geometric configurations reveals that the supersonic combustion in DCR combustor has the characteristics of lifting flame, where the lifting flame is maintained near the injector tip for the case of long combustor length with small divergence angle, but the lifting height is significantly increase for large divergence angle resulting flame blow-out of the combustor. Therefore, it is concluded that flame stability should be considered sufficiently in the design o DCR combustor.

  • Performance of a dual mode ramjet engine based on the sensitivity analysis of design parameters (the gap between cowl and inlet spike and combustor length) was analyzed from the view points of aerodynamics and thermodynamics. A dual mode engine performing from supersonic to hypersonic (Mach no. 2 to 6) was designed in a proposed flight envelop. The design method and result were comparable to the results of the previous study, Hyperion RLV, and the CFD calculation.

  • A two color PIV technique has been developed for visualization of complex and high speed flow in a ramjet combustor. Two color PIV has the advantages that velocity distribytions in high speed flowfields can be measured simply by varying the time interval between two different laser beams and a directional ambiguity problem can be solved by color separation, and then a singnal-to-noise ratio can be increased through nearly perfect cross-correlation. As a basic research of the ramjet engine, a 2-D shaped combustor with two symmetric air intakes has been manufactured and an experimental study has been conducted using a two color PIV technique. The flow characteristics such as recirculation zones and two intake air mixing have been investigated varying inlet angles and dome heights. It is found that the size and air mass ratio of reciculation zones are affected mainly by an inlet angle, but not much by a dome height.

  • 램제트 엔진에 대한 기초 연구로서 양쪽 대칭의 공기 흡입구를 갖는 2차원 형태의 램제트엔진 연소기를 제작하여 그 특성을 분석하였다. 실험은 흡입공기의 연소실내 유입각도와 연소실내의 도움 위치에 따른 연소실 형상을 바꾸어가며 연소기내의 유동특성을 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 고속 유동장의 2차원 평면 속도 분포를 측정할 수 있는 two color PIV 기법을 개발하였다. 이 기법은 다른 색의 두 레이저빔을 사용하여 방향성의 문제를 해결하며, 이미지의 색 분리에 따른 거의 완벽한 cross-correlation이 가능하며 높은 single-to-noise 비를 얻게 됨으로써 dynamic range의 증가가 가능해지며, 조사 영역 안에 존재해야 하는 입자 쌍의 수가 줄어들게 된다.(중략)
