Consumer needs of Digital Textile Printing in Clothing based on Digital Fashion System (디지털 패션 시스템 기반 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 섬유제품 수요 경향)

  • 소비자의 기호가 다양화되면서 다품종 소량생산에 따른 대량 맞춤화에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 1990년대 후반부터 급격히 확산되고 있는 인터넷의 발달 및 디지털 기기의 확산에 따라 인터넷을 기반으로 한 전자상거래 환경에서의 대량 맞춤화 프로세스는 최근 의류 분야에서 주요한 경향으로 받아들여지고 있다. 대량 맞춤화 의류 제품의 수요는 인터넷 등 IT 기술의 발달과 맞물려 최근 개인의 특성과 취향을 고려한 인터넷 맞춤서비스를 기반으로 증가추세에 있으며, CAD 등의 테크놀러지의 활용을 통하여 디자인, 패턴제작, 재단 등의 자동 시스템을 도입함으로써 그 영역을 확장하고 있다. 이에 발맞추어 국내에서는 '디지털 패션 시스템'을 통해 3차원 바디 스캔, 3차원 컴퓨터 그래픽스, 3차원 Simulation, DID, DTP, 맞춤주문형 제품의 대량 생산기술 등의 단위 기술이 기업단위로 활용되는 등 가상현실을 이용한 3차원 가상쇼핑 등을 포함하는 기술로서 차세대 섬유패션 산업의 창출에 기여하고 있다. 그 중, 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅은 디자인에서부터 날염까지 전체 공정을 컴퓨터로 처리하여 기존의 복잡한 날염 공정을 단축하여 다품종 소량생산이 가능한 날염 방식으로, 대량 맞춤형 프로세스를 지원하며, 프로슈머(prosumer)로서의 소비자가 직접 참여하여 그들의 욕구를 최대화 할 수 있는 소비자 만족을 극대화 시킬 수 있는 대량 맞춤화 프로세스 중 하나의 단계로 소비자의 수요 반영하는 요소로 작용하고 있다. 즉, 디지털 패션 시스템에서의 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅은 대량 맞춤형 의류 제품에 있어 소비자 만족도와 직결되는 요인으로 분석된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 디지털 패션 시스템 기반의 대량맞춤형 섬유제품 및 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 적용 섬유제품에 대한 기초 평가 문항을 제시하고, 소비자 태도를 분석하여 제시하였다. 또한, 분석된 기초 소비자 태도를 반영하여, 디지털 패션 시스템 기반의 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅(Digital Textile Printing) 의류 제품의 선호도, 인지도, 수요도 및 구입의향을 분석하여 최종적으로 디지털 패션 시스템에 적용된 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 의류 제품의 수요 경향을 제시하였다.

Emotional Evaluation of Textile Design Using Digital Craft (디지털 크래프트를 적용한 텍스타일 디자인의 감성평가)

  • Currently, the field of textile is expanding the scope of its research, which focuses on non-material values such as emotion. This study suggests possibilities for and applications of emotional textile design, using digital craft via empirical research focusing on the emotional significance of textile design. The results, obtained with a subjective evaluation scale developed for this study, were used to verify whether there is statistical significance in the differences between textile design using digital technology and textile design using digital craft. The experiment indicated certain meaningful implications for application of digital crafts through the application of textile design. First, ethnic emotions were not found to be significant but did increase in all three comparative analyses. Second, both modern and classical emotions decreased. Third, comparisons between digital textile machine and digital textile machine and craft showed a significant difference in sensibility. Lastly, the comparison of 3D printing and 3D printing and craft indicated a significant increase in elegance. Therefore, textile design using digital craft is thought to be able to deliver an ethnic, fun, and elegant sensibility, following the digital technology used. If the results derived from this study are used appropriately in the development and production of textile design, it can effectively support the development of emotional textile design. In addition, the results of this study provide objective data for the design of emotional textile through digital craft, which will provide important implications for the academic world and for practical production.

A Study on the Fashion Design Process Based on the Digital Textile Printing System (디지털 텍스타일 프린팅 시스템에 기반을 둔 의류디자인 프로세스 연구)

  • Entering the period of Mass Customization, and with the help of the Digital Textile Printing technology, the purpose of this study is to propose two customer involved design process models, based on the Digital Textile Printing technology, and to compare their efficiencies and appropriateness with those of the existing design process model, which would lead us to discover the possibilities of Mass Customized design process. By the result obtained from the survey of 166 females in their twenties and thirties, the second Mass Customized design process model which gave most choices to prosumers was preferred the most, while the existing design process which gave no choice seemed to be preferred the least, and among the design elements of textile, color appeared to be the most significant influential factor in the preference of the clothing by the consumers. In summary, it appeared that every aspect of the society requires a shift in the process of the thought from Mass Production to Mass Customization at this point, and a guideline was made from the Mass Customized design process suggested in this study.

  • In the new millenium of information and digital age, the vogue cycle has been gelling shorter and shorter and the individualistic and high quality preference of contemporary consumers drive the small quantity production by order. The traditional screen printing system can not hold the competitive edge anymore. In order to actively meet the demand of the fast evolving market, compete with other nations, and produce high value-added products, we need the new production system to meet the individual needs promptly. Mass production using the traditional screen printing system has the economic advantage of the production speed and cost. The digital textile printing system digitalizes the total process from the design to the printing and omits the separation and engraving. It is more suitable to produce the multiple item-small quantity and add more values to its products. It has also the advantage of less pollution problem.

  • Whole process of textile printing is made by computer and it remarkably improves environment problem. This digital textile printing is becoming next step environment friendly textile printing method. But, still now range of textile possible for digital textile printing is limited, and also color analysis according to fiber types is not completed. The ink printed on the fabrics through DTP printer can be absorbed and fixed into textile without any blots by pre-treatment using suitable media solution for fabrics types. The chemical formulation of media solution used in the pre-treatment process varies according to the types of textiles and inks for DTP products. First, I studied reference books or articles about color analysis of digital textile printing. Second, I recorded pre-process, printing, post-process and coloring of silk, wool, nylon at same condition. After that, I analyzed $L^*\;a^*\;b^*$, Total K/S, ${\Delta}E$ and studied color intensity and coloring. According to this study, I suggested particular textile special for coloring and manual for affective coloring control. It showed that the performance of the digital printing on the Silk, Wool and Nylon blend fabrics treated by the media solution developed in this study was better than the one treated by the previous media solution for each single inks.

  • In this study, textile designs were developed by applying Norigae for motives, were digital-printed for it's eco-friendly, delicate and short printing time and as final products, necktie, bag and bedding was developed with them. The purposes of this study were to develop a unique textile design, and then to enhance the competitiveness of Korean textile industry in the world market and pass down a Korean traditional fiber art cultural legacy. The results are as follows Norigaes are a sort of Korean traditional ornaments worn on women's Korean traditional costume. These can vary in color, material, shape, composition and said to have very high artistic value from the standpoint of the modern view. And these are symbols of happiness and women's longing of Korean traditional society. So Norigaes are worthy of applying Korean traditional motive for modern textile design. The textile designs applied a Norigae in this study were estimated comparatively high.

  • 국내 유일의 국제 사인전시회인 '제19회 한국국제사인디자인전(KOSIGN 2011)'이 지난 11 월 17일부터 20일까지 서울 삼성동 코엑스에서 열렸다. 올해로 19회째를 맞이한 코사인전은 디지털 텍스타일 프린터를 포함해, 국내외 사인산업 전반의 아이템을 총망라해 전시되었다. KOSIGN2011은 'ALL OF VISUAL'을 슬로건으로 내걸고 사인, 디스플레이, 공공 디자인 등 시각과 관련한 모든 요소를 담고 있다는 메시지를 전했다. 이번 전시회는 미디어 아트, 광고 및 홍보, 게임, 전시의 경계가 무너지는 옥외광고업계의 트랜드를 느낄 수 있도록 기획되었으며, 특별관으로 'Space Design Show'를 개최하는가 하면 부대행사로 대한민국옥외광고대상수상작 전시관, 세계 3대 광고제 수상작 전시관, 바이어 리셉션 등을 마련해 다양한 이벤트를 선보였다.

  • This study aim to suggest how alter the korean traditional image design for umbrellas by sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Umbrellas are highly depend on design and made from polyester fiber which is proper item to utilize sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Sublimation transfer digital textile printing system can use computer system to create the delicate high dense images and one full layout through the hole umbrella. It can create distinctive style of design compare with former screen printing umbrella design. As a result of this study, Korean traditional images were adopted and recreated for umbrellas as the modern practical item. 7 of umbrella designs were developed and sample umbrellas could be produced in short period comparing with screen printing process. Through this study, as green printing process, sublimation transfer digital textile printing will be more applied to manufacture high quality textile products along with design development, thus it is expected as an alternative plan to leads growth of umbrella industries.

A Study on Surrealist Expressions Technique of Digital Textile Printing (디지털 텍스타일 프린팅의 초현실주의적 표현 기법에 관한 연구)

  • With the development of digital technology, clothes of unique textiles using the digital printing techniques have appeared as a creative trend in textile design. The development of digital textile printing technology has allowed the fashion industry to utilize it as an expressive method of a surrealist trend in current fashion designs, and so it is necessary to understand and study this phenomenon. The present study is an attempt to understand this modern fashion phenomena from an artistic perspective by looking at textile designs that applied actual images to textiles, so that this trend in fashion design can be better understood. In this context, this study aims to examine characteristics and expressive techniques of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme associated with digital textile printing by using actual images among surrealist expressions, and to investigate creative expressions of textile design freely expressing the visual boundary between reality and surrealism with the development of digital technology. For research methods, we reviewed technical texts and previous studies related to our research topic for theoretical exploration and investigated the Internet data and used them for basic data. In the case study, we came up with the characteristics and meanings by classifying fashion design cases using digital textile printing techniques according to expressive techniques of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Details of this study are as follows: First, it investigates the definition and expressive characteristics of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme of the surrealist expression for its theoretical understanding. Second, it comes up with the characteristics by analyzing the digital textile cases from the perspective of d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme. Third, it deduces the expressive methods and characteristics of digital textile printing from a the perspective of surrealist d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme based on the resulting characteristics. The conclusions show that d$\acute{e}$paysement, automatisme, which consists of improvisation and coincidence, maximized the mysterious images of derealisation and mysterious primitive images. These things emphasized the characteristics of maximization of images, derealisation, and rationalization of irrationalism.
