  • Modern technology in the development and convergence of art brought the rapid development of the media arts actively accommodating 'media art' digital media. It has to go to expand the area and limitations as a basis of communication in the 21st century, a new artistic creativity, through the gathering of the existing chain of modern digital mobile technologies and new genre public art that is based on interactive communication break down the boundaries between sectors It has evolved into. This fusion of high technology and the art of mobile interactive media art is to overcome the limitations of time and physical space, as an active subject of interaction and participation, and expanding the range of experiential communications, such as art and science, cultural industries giving provides a flexible platform for a variety of applications. This study presents an expanded paradigm of the new communication and interactive media that define the reporting year review through the literature on art, experiential mobile communications through a case study of mobile interactive media art that is used as a medium of artistic expression the interactive effect was analyzed as a possible new public art. Convergence and interactivity, mobile interactive media art as a buzzword experience has proposed a new approach to high-tech and art and meet the new sensibility of our life and communication, unlimited possibilities worthy of the contemporary trend of convergence and consilience with a new art genre is expected to continued to evolve and develop.

  • There has been the rapid change of paradigm with the overflow of terms related to computers such as information, digital, cyber, virtual world and the change of time concept on the ground that it is common to change the world into virtual time. This study is about cybercharacters working in air-broadcasting with rapidly-developing internet, The cybercharacters including 3D animation developed from 2D animation are know to be manufactured with use of electronic mediun and computers and to exist in electronics. Though the emergence of the cybercharacters has a lot of gflnetic roots according to their objectives, they have in common that they are made by 3D graphics and they work in the virtual space, The great traits of the cybercharaters lie in the extension of interfacial function and ecological growth. In the cyberspace the interface, the meeting point between a computer and its users is the most important, The cybercharacters as medium providing new ruman interface become effective with growing interest in virtual reality, The cybercharacters also keep the ecological traits, They can also bring about added value with infusion of image and development of the network, These cybercharacters can also play the important parts in the continually developing cyberspace, The successful birth of the cybercharacter are based on, the technological power. assistance of fund and the ctrltural background, The information-entertainment of the cybercharacters functions well with the accompinimene of these three things, The cybercharacters can make a subject which keeps single issue as a central point of the virtual realty, The cybercharacters can also be connected with equity of "Korean knowledge information society" in the cultural rule of the internet and sociocul tural identity, identity.

Development of the Accuracy Improvement Algorithm of Geopositioning of High Resolution Satellite Imagery based on RF Models (고해상도 위성영상의 RF모델 기반 지상위치의 정확도 개선 알고리즘 개발)

  • Satellite imagery with high resolution of about one meter is used widely in commerce and government applications ranging from earth observation and monitoring to national digital mapping. Due to the expensiveness of IKONOS Pro and Precision products, it is attractive to use the low-cost IKONOS Geo product with vendor-provided rational polynomial coefficients (RPCs), to produce highly accurate mapping products. The imaging geometry of IKONOS high-resolution imagery is described by RFs instead of rigorous sensor models. This paper presents four different polynomial models, that are the offset model, the scale and offset model, the Affine model, and the 2nd-order polynomial model, defined respectively in object space and image space to improve the accuracies of the RF-derived ground coordinates. Not only the algorithm for RF-based ground coordinates but also the algorithm for accuracy improvement of RF-based ground coordinates are developed which is based on the four models, The experiment also evaluates the effect of different cartographic parameters such as the number, configuration, and accuracy of ground control points on the accuracy of geopositioning. As the result of a experimental application, the root mean square errors of three dimensional ground coordinates which are first derived by vendor-provided Rational Function models were averagely 8.035m in X, 10.020m in Y and 13.318m in Z direction. After applying polynomial correction algorithm, those errors were dramatically decreased to averagely 2.791m in X, 2.520m in Y and 1.441m in Z. That is, accuracy was greatly improved by 65% in planmetry and 89% in vertical direction.

  • With the development of media technology, UCC actively working through the medium of the Net, the Internet space, which can influence politics instead of TV is drawing attention as the new leading media. As the one-sided media influence of TV is dwindling in the times of the Internet, the hegemony of the media is rapidly changing into UCC marked by two-way interaction. Especially, UCC has the characteristic that it has changed the people performing a role as the receptor of the media into the agent of enormous political influence as well as the freshness specific to its contents. This study was intended to investigate the types of diverse political influences of UCC in political practice as well as daily politics with a focus on the fact that it can newly project the world led by the media and their changes and exercise strong power in changing the society. Therefore, it attempted to investigate the political influence and ripple effect that UCC can exert by attempting to analyze what political influence UCC can exercise at diverse political situations including election. As a result, UCC led to four situations such as incentive-exploding type, issue-leading type, dispersion-switching type, direction-obeying type. This can be said to lead to the positive effect at the political field, such as implementing direct democracy through digital technology.

K-POP fandom and Korea's national reputation: An analysis on BTS fans in the U.S. (K-POP 팬덤과 한국의 국가 명성: 미국의 BTS 팬 중심 분석)

  • Objectives: This study aims to discover how the spread of K-POP and the diversification of the Korean Wave affects Korea's national reputation. K-POP stars are diversifying their interactions with fandom by creating an online space to consume various products and services related to their stars and engage in fan activities. Because of this, this study aims to examine the relevance of K-POP to national reputation through a parasocial relationship with K-POP stars by fandom forming a community and utilizing media. Methods: An online survey was conducted in English using the Amazon survey company Mechanical Turk for BTS fans living in the United States. A total of 195 people's data, excluding incomplete responses, were used for the analysis. Results: It was found that BTS fans' social media participation activities themselves did not directly affect Korea's national reputation. But the mediating effect of BTS fans' parasocial relationship was found. That is, BTS fans' social media participation activities had a positive effect on their parasocial relationships with BTS which in turn had a positive effect on their national reputation. Conlusions: The use and participation of BTS fans in social media in Korea's national reputation has no significant effect on itself, but it has been found that it affects the national reputation through forming parasocial relationships. From the study results, the parasocial relationship of K-POP fans can be used as a strategic mechanism to enhance the national image and Korea's national reputation.
