직접 분사식 디젤 기관 인젝터의 연료 분무 특성 (Spray Characteristics of Fuel Injector in DI Diesel Engine)

  • This paper presents the atomization characteristics of single hole injector in the direct injection type diesel engine. The spray characteristics of fuel injector such as the droplet size and velocity were measured by phase Doppler particle analyzer. In this paper, the atomization characteristics of fuel spray are investigated for the experimental analysis of the measuring data by the results of mean diameter and mean velocity of droplet. The effect of fuel injection pressure on the droplet size shows that the higher injection pressure results in the decrease of mean droplet diameter in the fuel spray. The minimum size of fuel spray droplet appears on the location of 40mm axial distance from nozzle exit of diesel injector. Based on the experimental results, the correlation between the droplet diameter and mean velocity of the diesel spray due to the change of axial and radial distance from the nozzle tip were investigated.

  • In order to meet stringent future emission regulations, especially to reduce Particulate Matter (PM) and NOX, stoichiometric diesel combustion technology with a piezo group-hole nozzle injector is being researched for reduction harmful emissions. A new nozzle layout, namely a group-hole nozzle, which has one group of small orifices with a wide spray included angle was investigated to improve the efficiency of stoichiometric diesel combustion. From this point of view, the group-hole nozzle suggested by Dense Co. is an attractive candidate method applicable to stoichiometric diesel combustion. The group-hole nozzle concept is to reduce the injector nozzle hole diameters without sacrificing spray penetration by closely locating two holes. Experimental studies have proven that the spray from group-hole nozzles have similar spray penetration to that of a single hole with equivalent overall nozzle hole area, but the spray drop sizes (SMD) are reduced, aiding vaporization and mixing.

CRDI 디젤엔진의 피에조 인젝터 불량에 따른 파형 분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Waveform Analysis According to Troubles of Piezo Injector of CRDI Diesel Engine)

  • This paper investigates the relationship of voltage and current waveform between normal piezo injector and deterioration abnormal piezo injector. The experimental methods using Pico oscilloscope and GDS scan tool are employed to measure current and voltage waveform and fuel pressure of piezo injector. The experiment is carried out during no-load condition. A summary of the important results are as follows. 1) In case of normal injector, the fluctuation of duration time of piezo injector was linearly and regularly decreased with increasing engine speed, but the that of deterioration piezo injector was irregularly decreased with increasing engine speed. 2) In main injection, the peak value of the current waveform of abnormal injector was larger than that of normal injector, the duration time of deteriorated abnormal injector was less than that of normal injector at 800rpm and 1500rpm, but the duration time of deteriorated abnormal injector was larger than that of normal injector at 2000rpm and 3000rpm. This irregularity appears to be caused by the deterioration of the injector.

디젤분무의 분열과정에 대한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Study of Breakup Process of Diesel Spray)

  • 유체의 고압유동은 여러 산업현장에 활용되고, 특히 그 중 내연기관의 연료분사 인젝터가 대표적이며 디젤엔진의 커먼레일 시스템의 경우 1000bar 이상의 압력이 사용된다. 이와 같이 고속으로 분출되는 유체유동의 경우, 노즐을 통해 분사되는 고속의 유체는 주위기체와의 상호작용으로 분열과정을 거치게 된다. 이 분열과정은 연소실 혼합기형성기과정에 영향을 주게 되며, 그 결과 엔진의 연소상태에 까지 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 연료분무의 분열과정에 대한 해석은 중요하며, 본 연구에서는 연료분무의 분열을 위한 수치해석 서브모델로 Reitz&Diwakar 및 CAB(Cascade atomization and breakup)모델을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 분사된 분무의 분열과정의 정확한 해석이며, 분사연료의 분열발생 형태의 빈도 등을 조사하였다. 결과로서 본 연구는 상용 CFD 프로그램(CFX)을 이용하여 디젤분무의 분열과정해석을 위한 적합한 분열모델을 제안한다.

고압 연료 제어와 분사 특성 (A High Pressure Fuel Control and its Injection Characteristics)

  • An injection control valve(ICV) was designed to control the fuel flow between a common rail and an injector with two commercial solenoids. To improve the performance of ICV, the characteristic method was applied. With this method, the flow characteristics in the ICV and the injector were studied and the parameters which affect the injection characteristics were also studied. From this study, following results were obtained. The injection duration can be controlled and with modifications of the effective valve stroke of ICV, the injection quantity and duration can be reduced to desired amount. Also the injection quantity and pressure can be controlled by reducing the hole size of the injector without the variation of the injection duration. For some conditions, the desired injection characteristics can be obtained by the changes of the valve timing, the effective valve stroke, the open pressure of the injector and the hole size of the injector.

  • LNGC 주기관의 크랭크 챔버 내 유증기 폭발 방지를 위해 기존의 이산화탄소 가스인젝터가 부착된 오일미스트 감지기 외에 불활성가스 시스템을 설치할 필요가 있다. 특히, LNGC 선박은 액체질소를 손쉽게 확보할 수 있는 장점이 있기 때문에 액체질소를 이용한 불활성가스 시스템을 도입하기 위한 설계 기초 단계로서 해석적 연구를 시행하였다. 또한 액체질소 최소 소모량 시스템을 개발하기 위하여 층상류 모델을 적용하였으며, 층상류 흐름에 미치는 유로관경, 포화압력과 선박동요에 따른 배관 기울기 등의 영향에 대해서도 조사하였다. 또한 질소와 같은 극저온 유체들과 여기에 사용된 예측 모델과의 비교 검토를 통하여 극저온 유체에 대해서도 모델의 유효성을 검증하였으며, 액체질소 불활성가스 시스템의 액체질소를 가스로 상변환 시키는데 소요되는 가열기의 열부하도 예측할 수 있었다.
