  • 지구온난화와 환경오염을 줄일 수 있는 하나의 방안으로 고연비의 경유를 사용하는 운송수단이 각광을 받아왔으나, 입자상 오염물질 및 질소산화물 배출량의 증가 등 경유 차량의 이용에도 문제점이 드러나고 있다. 주요 선진국들이 이와 관련한 규제를 강화함에따라 이에 대응할 수 있는 기술 개발이 요구되는 가운데 녹색 기술 개발을 이끄는 국가핵융합연구소는 플라즈마를 활용한 경유 차량의 후처리장치 개발을 추진하고 있다.

Improvement of the performance and emission in a four-stroke diesel engine using fuel additive (4행정 디젤엔진에 연료첨가제 사용에 따른 성능 및 배기배출물 개선에 관한 연구)

  • High thermal efficiency and the ability to use various types of fuel are a few of the many advantages of diesel engines. However, a major disadvantage is that their exhaust emissions are more harmful to humans and the environment than that of conventional engine. Consequently, the provisions of the international emissions standards for diesel engine equipped passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and ships have become more stringent. These standards include the EU Euro 6, the IMO MEPC Tier 3, and the US EPA Tier 4. Ryu et al. published a study that applied fuel additives to two-stroke diesel engines. In this study, a four-stroke diesel engine using diesel oil for a generator is utilized as the test subject, and an experiment is performed to verify whether fuel additive can be used to improve performance and exhaust emissions. In addition, this experimental study presents research results for the application of fuel additives in both two-stroke and four-stroke diesel engines. The experimental results were compared and analyzed by placing an oil-soluble calcium-based organometallic compound in diesel oil. The results confirmed that the addition of fuel additive improved the performance (fuel consumption rate, exhaust gas temperature) and exhaust emissions (NOx, CO) of the diesel engine.

  • 화석연료의 고갈과 환경오염이 문제시 되면서 친환경 에너지개발에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그중 바이오디젤은 동,식물성유지 및 폐식용유를 이용하여 생산이 가능할뿐더러 농용엔진에 특별한 개조 없이 사용가능하다. 또한 바이오디젤 자체에 산소를 함유하고 있어 이산화탄소 저감에 효율적이다. 바이오 디젤에 관한 많은 연구가 수행되었으며, 기존의 연구는 단일유지의 폐식용유를 사용하여 바이오디젤을 생산하는 연구가 진행되었다. 하지만 가정에서 배출되는 식물성 폐식용유의 경우 여러 가지가 혼합되어 배출되고 있어, 혼합폐식용유지의 바이오디젤 특성평가가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 폐식물성유지(폐대두유, 폐카놀라유, 폐해바라기유)를 중량비(1:4, 1:1.5 1:0.66, 1:0.25)로 혼합하여 바이오디젤을 생산하고, 생산한 바이오디젤을 농용기관에 이용하여 농용기관의 출력특성 및 배기배출물특성 평가를 실시하였다. 실험에 사용된 농용기관은 배기량이 673cc인 직접분사식 디젤기관(ND10DE, Daedong, Korea)이며, 엔진성능평가를 위해 토크는 토크센서(YDL-704s, Setech, Korea)를 사용하였다. 배기배출물 평가는 배기가스분석기(HG-550, Airlex, Germany)를 이용하여 이산화탄소, 질소산화물을의 배출량을 측정하였다. 폐식용유를 이용하여 생산한 바이오디젤과 경유의 기관성능을 비교한 결과 토크와 축출력의 경우 BD의 혼합량이 증가할수록 줄어들었다. 토크는 혼합된 유지에 따라 상용운전범위인 1500rpm~2400rpm에서 평균 대두와 카놀라유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 7.2%, BD20은 12.1% 감소하였고, 대두와 해바라기유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 11.3% BD20은 16.3% 감소하였다. 또한 해바라기와 카놀라유를 혼합하여 생산한 BD10은 8.3%, BD20은 14.6% 감소하였다. 이는 BD의 발열량이 경유에 비해 낮아 토크가 감소한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 배기배출물 평가의 경우 질소산화물은 BD의 함랑이 증가함에 따라 경유에 비해 배출량이 증가하는 경향을 보였고, 이산화탄소는 저감되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 바이오디젤이 함산소연료이므로, 연료내의 산소로 인해 완전연소를 촉진시켜 이산화탄소를 저감시키고 질소산화물은 증가된 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Cleanup fur Diesel-Contaminated Soil by Micro-Bubble Enhanced Soil Washing Process (미세기포를 이용한 토양세척기법의 디젤 오염토양 정화에 관한 연구)

  • The treatment of petroleum contaminated soil requires various physico-chemical remediation technologies which are efficient in time and can reduce the possibility of secondary contamination by themselves In this study, an innovated soil washing process was proposed to treat the diesel-contaminated soil. Micro-bubbles, which were generated by hydrogen peroxide, deserted and floated the contaminants. Soils less than #60(0.25mm) were artificially contaminated by 6,500mg TPH/kg dry soil initially. The process was examined for pH, the soil to water mixing ratio, concentration of $H_2O$$_2$, and contacting times. In the case of less than #60 soil, maximum removal efficiency(60%) was obtained at pH 12. 1.0% hydrogen peroxide, and 1 : 5 soil to water mixing ratio for 1 hour.

An Study on Estimating Cargo Handling Equipment Emission in the Port of Incheon (인천항 하역장비 대기오염물질 배출량 산정 연구)

  • Currently, in-port emissions are a serious problem in port cities. However, emissions, especially non-greenhouse gases, from the operation of cargo handling equipment (CHE) have received significant attention from scientific circles. This study estimates the amount of emissions from on-land port diesel-powered CHE in the Port of Incheon. With real-time activity data provided by handling equipment operating companies, this research applies an activity-based approach to capture an up-to-date and reliable diesel-powered CHE emissions inventory during 2017. As a result, 105.6 tons of carbon monoxide (CO), 243.2 tons of nitrogen oxide (NOx), 0.005 tons of sulfur oxide (Sox), 22.8 tons of particulate matter (PM), 26.0 tons of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and 0.2 tons of ammonia (NH3) were released from the landside CHE operation. CO and NOx emissions are the two primary air pollutants from the CHE operation in the Port of Incheon, contributing 87.71% of the total amount of emissions. Cranes, forklifts, tractors, and loaders are the four major sources of pollution in the Port of Incheon, contributing 84.79% of the total in-port CHE emissions. Backward diesel-powered machines equipped in these CHE are identified as a key cause of pollution. Therefore, this estimation emphasizes the significant contribution of diesel CHE to port air pollution and suggests the following green policies should be applied: (1) replacement of old diesel powered CHE by new liquefied natural gas and electric equipment; (2) the use of NOx reduction after-treatment technologies, such as selective catalytic reduction in local ports. In addition, a systematic official national emission inventory preparation method and consecutive annual in-port CHE emission inventories are recommended to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of green policies conducted in the future.

  • 디젤자동차는 가솔린 자동차에 비하여 연료소비효율(fuel economy)이 20-30% 정도 높고 고출력을 낼수 있어 이의 수요가 증가하고 있다. 본 고에서는 디젤자동차에서 배출되는 수많은 화학물질중에서 문제가 되고 있는 입자상물질, NOx 및 SO$_{2}$를 제거하는 기술에 대하여 살펴본다. 이러한 오염물질의 저감을 위하여는 배기가스 재순환, 분사시기의 조절, 인터쿨링 같은 연소기술의 개선과 유황분이 적고, 방향족화합물의 함량이 적은 청정연료를 사용하여 어느 수준까지는 목적을 달성할 수 있다. 1. 디젤자동차 배출허용기준. 2. 배기가스 정화기술. 2.1 트랩기술(trap technology). 2.2 재생기술(regeneration technology). 2.3 제어 및 센서기술(control and sensor technology)

Emission factors based estimation of exhaust emissions with biodiesel blended fuel from naval vessel propulsive diesel engine (바이오디젤 혼합연료를 사용하는 함정추진디젤기관의 배출계수를 이용한 배기가스 배출량 예측)

  • National investment was performed in the research and development of renewable energy because of climate change by air pollution, exhaustion of energy sources, energy security, and so on. Biodiesel fuel of the renewable energy is highlighted as friendly environment energy, it is possible to operate in regular diesel engines when it is blended with invariable ratios without making any changes. Emission factors have been estimated for commercial ship from various research institutes; however, it is difficult to develop emission factors for military vessels. In this work, biodiesel blended fuel emission factors for sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide were quantitatively estimated from propulsive diesel engine installed on naval vessel using fuel property analysis. In addition, exhaust emissions were quantitatively calculated on the basis of fuel consumption rate with biodiesel content by percentage.
