Analysis on the Trend in Customers' Consciousness as Appeared in Wellbeing Trend, LOHAS -Mainly in Food, Clothing, and Shelter Based Websites- (웰빙 트렌드 로하스(LOHAS)에 나타난 소비자 의식 변화에 따른 웹 디자인 발전방향 분석 - 의, 식, 주 웹 사이트를 중심으로 -)

  • As the world is in the age of globalization and information, we observe diverse changes in the market environment. Since wide-spread internet services and global networks made ubiquitous learning and business possible, equalizing consumers' ideology and preference, new trend and life style could be introduced easily. This study stipulates on the theoretical concept of the wellbeing consumer and LOHAS consumer. Consumers of LOHAS could be sampled out through pre-questionnaire targeting at selected food, clothing, and shelter based on companies of both wellbeing and general brands. Through this it is attempted to measure wellbeing emotion, recognition quotient of emotion and reason, affirmation and negation, mental emotion quotient, and preference in order to find out their value and to ultimately come up with what web design should be aiming at. Conclusions are as follows: Firstly, consumers easily recognize emotional identification from the web pages of wellbeing brand, rather than that of general brands. Secondly, what web pages of wellbeing brand recognize is reason, not emotion. Thirdly, the design of wellbeing brands scored higher than those of general brands in terms of positive aspects such as hospitality and familiarity, and high mental emotion quotient could not affect the consumers' preference toward web design. Fourthly, wellbeing brands win more preference than general brands do, and preference becomes higher after customers' visit to web pages basically. Lastly, sampled emotional adjectives toward the web designs of wellbeing brands marked a aesthetic graph figure, without leaning toward an active or stable one. It is expected that this study can serve as a groundwork to create proper strategies to actively involve consumers in industrial sphere.

  • Urban Air Transportation (UAM) is a three-dimensional transport within the city using eVTOL as an alternative to the saturation of land transportation due to overcrowding in major cities around the world. Design has played its roles in various fields in the development of transport, but research on the design application of UAM, which will be commercialized soon, is insufficient. Accordingly, there is a growing need for prior research on the forecasting the future environment and the design application through phenomenon analysis. The purpose of this study is to derive mega trends through STEP analysis for UAM and present ways to apply design in the UAM field based on this. The research method was conducted in the following order. First, the theoretical background of UAM was established by analyzing prior art documents on UAM. Second, five trends in the future environment centered on UAM were derived through STEP analysis. Finally, in order to derive a design application, five experts in each design area (product, visual, video, environment, service) discussed the design application focusing on the results of STEP analysis and derived a design application plan for each design area in the UAM field. Through this study, it was found that the most frequent design area in the STEEP analysis is product design and service design, and therefore related design development is important. After analyzing UAM's information provision plan, display method, and usage process suggested in this study, it is expected that it will lead to various prior design studies related to UAM, such as customized service design, to establish an infrastructure environment for commercialization of UAM.

  • Today's liquor culture in Korea is basically divided into a general liquor culture and a functional liquor culture. In particular, the market of the latter has been going through a rapid change. In the previous days, it was a crop for a special purpose or a fruit which was mostly used to make liquor but now, many other regular crops are being used in the liquor market. At present, while the demand for Makgeolli has risen sharply, the designs of Makgeolli bottles have never satisfied needs from consumers nor the trends in the consumer market. As a result, Makgeolli industry should come up with new designs for the bottles immediately if it dose not want to lose in a competition with other liquor products. The study has looked into existing designs of Makgeolli bottles, investigating how the designs have changed over the past years and how competitive they are in the market. Based on results from the investigation, the study focuses on finding out designs which would fit the trends in the consumer market to develop Makgolli bottles which would be equipped with both functionality and practicality. In other words, to make Makgeolli survive in these rapid changes in the liquor market, the study works on offering a Makgeolli bottle design which is appropriate for certain characteristics of Makeolli and also competitive over other liquor bottles.

  • Forcasting the future is a very important task in design situation analysis. To do this, the reduction of life style, the tendency of product differentiation and individuality should be considered along with such changes as cultural, economical and social trends. At the moment, industrial structure is being reorganized from centering around the manufacturing industry to the distribution industry and consumers. Consumers show the attitude of expressing their individualities on the basis of various tastes rather than standardization. The flow of information also has been changing rapidly from the former types of information provided by producers to the age when consumers pursue the objective and model of information. Therefore, we are able to say that picking up the trends around the streets becomes more important than ever. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to establish a system which is able to effectively carry out the trend analysis by a town watching method, the construction of a database with collected data, and its practical application on the web.
