  • In this study, growth changes of the diameter at breast height (DBH), height, basal area, volume, and biomass of Korean white pine (Pinus koraiensis Siebold & Zucc.) on a plantation were examined via long-term monitoring. In addition, this study was performed to provide the basic data for timber production in line with DBH class by comparing the growth of the relative DBH size. Growth characteristics according to DBH class were analyzed by categorizing trees into five classes based on sorted DBH rankings: class I (1%-20%; upper 20%), class II (21%-40%), class III (41%-60%), class IV (61%-80%), class V (81%-100%; lower 20%). A total class (0%-100%) was also used. Total increment and mean annual increment (MAI) were calculated using data from nine measurements taken over 39 years. Tree characteristics based on average values and stand characteristics based on unit area per hectare were examined. According to the total increments of variables, the differences in DBH, basal area, volume, and biomass among classes I-V increased over time, whereas the height difference did not continually increase. According to MAI, the maximum DBH value was 0.92 cm·yr-1 at age 23 in class I, whereas the maximum value in all trees was 0.69 cm·yr-1 at age 17. The maximum value of height MAI for class I was 0.52 m·yr-1 at age 23, whereas that for all trees was 0.49 m·yr-1 at age 20. In terms of basal area, volume, and biomass growth at tree-and stand-level, the maximum MAI of class I and all trees was not observed during the measurement period. Therefore, additional long-term monitoring data are required to determine the maximum MAI of the variables.

  • Recently, financial supervisory authority of Korea and international credit rating agencies have been concerned about a stand-alone rating that is calculated without incorporating guaranteed support of parent companies. Guaranteed by parent companies, most foreign subsidiaries keeps good credit rate in spite of weak financial status. However, what if the parent companies stop supporting the foreign subsidiaries, they could have a probability to go bankrupt. In this paper, we have validated a credit rating model through statistical measurers such as performance, calibration, and stability for Korean companies owning foreign subsidiaries.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to deliver a climate analysis and evaluation method based on GIS by using airborne LiDAR data and Biotop type map and to provide spatial information of climate analysis and evaluation based on Biotop type Map. At first stage, the area, slope, slope length, surface, wind corridor function and width, and obstacle factors were analyzed to obtain cold/fresh air production and wind corridor evaluation. In addition, climate evaluation was derived from those two results in the second stage. Airborne LiDAR data are useful in wind corridor analysis during the study. Correlation analysis results show that ColdAir_GRD grade was highly correlated with Surface_GRD (-0.967461139) and WindCorridor_ GRD was highly correlated with Function_GRD (-0.883883476) and Obstacle_GRD (-0.834057656). Climate Evaluation GRID was highly correlated with WindCorridor_GRD (0.927554516) than ColdAir_GRD (0.855051646). Visual validations of climate analysis and evaluation results were performed by using aerial ortho-photo image, which shows that the climate evaluation results were well related with in-situ condition. At the end, we applied climate analysis and evaluation by using Biotop map and airborne LiDAR data in Gwangmyung-Shiheung City, candidate for the Bogeumjari Housing District. The results show that the aerial percentile of the 1st Grade is 18.5%, 2nd Grade is 18.2%, 3rd Grade is 30.7%, 4th Grade is 25.2%, and 5th Grade is 7.4%. This study process provided both the spatial analysis and evaluation of climate information and statistics on behalf of each Biotop type.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the landslide hazard areas by combining LRA (Lgistic Regression Analysis) and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Program) methods with Remote Sensing and GIS data in Anseong-si. In order to classify landslide hazard areas of seven levels, six topographic factors (slope, aspect, elevation, soil drain, soil depth, and land use) were used as input factors of LRA and AHP methods. As results, high-risk areas for landslide (1 and 2 levels) by LRA and AHP of its own were classified as 46.1% and 48.7%, respectively. A new method by applying weighting factors to the results of LRA and AHP was suggested. High-risk areas for landslide (1 and 2 levels) form the new method was classified as 58.9%.

  • In order to improve the vulnerability of current cities due to climate change, the disaster vulnerability analysis manual for various disasters is provided. Depending on the spatial units, the disaster vulnerability levels, and the conditions of the climatic factors, the results of the disaster vulnerability analysis will have a significant impact. In this study, relative assessments are conducted by adding the eup, myeon and dong unit in addition to census output area unit to analyze the impact on the spatial unit, and relative changes are analyzed according to the classification stages by expanding the natural classification, which is standardized at level four stage, to level two, four and six stage. The maximum rainfalls(10min, 60min, 24hr) are added for the two limited rainfall characteristics to determine the relativity of disaster vulnerable districts by index. The relative assessment results of heavy rainfall vulnerability index showed that the area ratio of disaster areas by spatial unit was different and the correlation analysis showed that the space analysis between the eup, myeon and dong unit in addition to census output area unit was not consistent. And it can be seen that the proportion of disaster vulnerable districts is relatively different a lot due to indexes of rainfall characteristics, spatial unit analysis and disaster vulnerability level stage. Based on the above results, it can be seen that the ratios of disaster vulnerable districts differ relatively significantly due to the level of the disaster vulnerability class, and the indexes of rainfall characteristics. This suggests that the impact of the disaster vulnerable districts depending on indexes is relatively large, and more detailed indexes should be selected when setting up the disaster vulnerabilities analysis index.

  • This study accomplished to draw a soil erosion map and a grade map of soil loss hazard in Korea. RUSLE and Rainfall-runoff (R) factor, which was estimated by using the rainfall data observed in 59 meteorological stations from 1977 to 2006 (for 30 years). FARD was used to analyze the frequency, and the whole country R factor was estimated according to the frequency. In the analysis of estimating the whole country R factor, Nakdong river has the smallest vaule, but Han river has the biggest value. According to the result of analyzing soil loss, soil loss occurred in a grass land, a bare land and a field in size order, and also approximately 17.2 ton/ha soil loss happened on the whole area. The average soil loss amount by the unit area takes place in a bare land and a grass land a lot. The total amount of soil loss in 5-year-frequency rainfall yields 15,000 ton and, what is more, a lot of soil loss happens in a paddy field, a forest and a crop field. The grade map of soil loss hazard is drawn up by classifying soil loss hazard grade by 5. As a result of analyzing soil loss, the moderate area which is the soil loss hazard grade 2 takes up the largest part, 72.8% of the total soil loss hazard area, on the contrary, the severe soil loss hazard area takes up only $1,038km^2$ (1.1%) of the whole area. The severe soil loss hazard area by land cover shows $93.5km^2$ in a bare land, $168.1km^2$ in a grass land and $327.4km^2$ in a crop field respectively.
