Elasto-plastic Post-buckling Analysis of Spatial Framed Structures using Improved Plastic Hinge Theory (개선된 소성힌지이론을 이용한 공간 뼈대구조물의 탄-소성 후좌굴 해석)

  • An efficient numerical method is developed to estimate the elasto-plastic post-buckling strength of space-framed structures. The inelastic ultimate strength of beam-columns and frames is evaluated by the parametric study. Applying the improved plastic hinge analysis that evaluate the gradual stiffness decrease effects due to spread of plasticity, elasto-plastic post-buckling behavior of steel frames is investigated considering the various residual stress distributions. Introducing the plastification parameter that represent pread of plasticity in the element and performing parametric study of equivalent element force and member idealization, finite-element solutions for the elasto-plastic analysis of space frames are compared with the results by plastic region analysis, shell elements and experimental results.

  • This paper describes a seismic design procedure for rib-reinforced RBS(Reduced Beam Section) steel moment connections. Engineers often use rib plates to enhance seismic performance of steel moment connections. thinking that the 2nd moment of inertia is increased so that the tensile stress in the beam flange groove weld is reduced However the force transfer mechanism in the rib connections is completely different from that as predicted by the classical beam theory ; a clear diagonal strut action is present in the rib. By treating the rib as a strut the writer has recently proposed an equivalent strut model that could be used as the basis of a practical design procedure. In this paper the proposed equivalent strut model is briefly presented first. A step-by-step design procedure is then recommended based on the proposed model.

Estimation for Equivalent Flexural Stiffness of Innovative Prestressed Support(IPS) Wale (혁신적 프리스트레스트 가시설(IPS)의 띠장에 대한 등가 휨강성의 산정)

  • The flexural-stiffness formula of the wale for the innovative prestressed support (IPS) system was precisely derived, and the equivalent beam stiffness was introduced for application in the actual design of the IPS wale. The cable tension forces of the IPS wale were calculated in both cases, and the axial-deformation effects were included and ignored, respectively. The central displacements of the 1-post, 2-post, 3-post, and 4-post IPS wales were calculated based on the principle of virtual work. The effects of the IPS wale length and cable inclination angle were also investigated using the derived central displacements. The simplified equivalent flexural stiffness of the IPS wale is presented herein for design purposes, and the validity of the proposed design formula was verified through its comparison with the FE and analysis solutions.

Effect of Geometric Shapes on Stability of Steel Cable-stayed Bridges (기하형상에 따른 강사장교의 안정성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents an investigation of the structural stability of cable-stayed bridges, using geometric nonlinear finite-element analysis and considering various geometric nonlinearities, such as the sag effect of the cables, the beam-column effect of the girder and mast, and the large displacement effect. In this analytic research, a nonlinear frame element and a nonlinear equivalent truss element were used to model the girder, mast, and cable member. The live-load cases that were considered in this research were assumed based on the traffic loads. To perform reasonable analytic research, initial shape analyses in the dead-load case were performed before live-load analysis. In this study, the geometric nonlinear responses of the cable-stayed bridges with different cable arrangement types were compared. After that, parametric studies on the characteristics of the structural stability in critical live-load cases were performed considering various geometric parameters, such as the cable arrangement type, the stiffness ratios of the girder and mast, the area of the cables, and the number of cables. Through this parametric study, the effect of geometric shapes on the structural stability of cable-stayed bridges was investigated.

  • 유한차분 감소를 이용한 감도해석 및 구조변경 프로그램을 개발하고 수치해석을 수행하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 유한요소 모델로부터 얻은 유한차분감도를 이용한 결과가 미분을 이용한 감도해석법의 결과에 비해 큰 차이없이 타당한 결과를 제시하여 주는 것을 확인하였다. 2) 복잡한 판구조물의 형상을 등가의 동특성을 갖는 보를 이용하여 모델링하고, 보의 단면치수를 설계변수로하여, 구조변경을 수행함으로써 효율적인 해석을 수행하였다. 3) 혀상이 복잡한 판 구조물의 형상 및 치수등 비선형적인 요소의 변경으로 인한 구조변경시 유한차분 감도 해석법을 이용한 구조변경이 좋은 결과를 나타내는 것을 확인하였고, 이로써 유한차분을 이용한 감도해석법이 형상최적화(shape optimization)에 적합한 방법임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper discusses the homogenization method to determine effective average elastic constants of a linear structure by considering its microstructure. A detailed description on the homogenization method is given for the linear elastic material and then the finite element approximation is performed for an investigation of elastic properties. An asymptotic expansion is carried out in the cross-section area, or in the unit cell. Two and three lay-up structures made up of individual isotropic constituents are chosen for numerical examples to check discrepancies between results generated by this theoretical development and the conventional approach. Asymptotic characteristics of the process in extracting the stiffness of structure locally formed by spatial repetitions yield underestimated values of stiffness. These discrepancies are detected by the asymptotic corrective term which is ascribed to considerations of microscopic perturbations and proved in the finite element formulation. The asymptotic analysis is the more reasonable in analysing the composite material, rather than the conventional approach to calculate the macroscopic average for elastic properties.

  • In this study, we have introduced an improved equivalent modeling technique for large scale composite wind-turbine blade. Conventional or general equivalent modeling procedure may give critical error in the analysis results because of geometric coupling effects. For the analyses of structural vibration and aeroelastic problems, the accuracy of equivalent structural models is very important since it can have high numerical efficiency and various practical applications. Three-dimensional realistic composite wind-turbine blade model is practically considered for numerical study. In order to validate the effect of the mass and the stiffness of the equivalent beam model, comparison study based on the natural vibration analysis has been conducted, and the accuracy levels of the conventional and modified equivalent modeling techniques are presented.

Vibration Analysis of Stiffened Corrugated Composite Plates (보강된 적층 복합재료 주름판의 진동해석)

  • The free vibration characteristics of corrugated laminated composite plates with axial stiffeners is investigated using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The plate is stiffened by beams with open cross-section area. The equivalent homogenization model is used for the corrugated laminated composite plates. This homogenization model is treated a corrugated plate as an orthotropic plate that has different material properties in two perpendicular directions. The motion of equivalent plate is represented on the basis of the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) to account for the effect of rotary inertia and transverse shear deformation. Stiffeners are considered as discrete elements to predict the local vibration mode to be generated by the presence of stiffeners. To validate the proposed analytical approach, natural frequencies and vibration mode shapes from the analytical method are compared with those from the FEA by ANSYS.

  • Compared to 3D FEM, 2D FEM can be analyzed by simplifying the model and conditions. However, with respect to coil conditions, in many cases, direction of coils(upward, downward, entrance, exit, etc.) are sequentially configured and set up the FEM analysis conditions. This paper shows simplification of coil conditions and reduction of analysis time by applying the equivalent winding method composed of one FEM coil even if it has multiple slots, and shows consistency of results by applying it to a winding type magnetic gear.

  • 보 및 평판의 진동에 대해서 에너지의 손실은 재료감쇠를 이용한 표면감쇠처리나 지지부에서의 감쇠처리에 의하여 증가될 수 있다. 감쇠재료를 이용한 표면감쇠처리의 예로서 보/평판 표면에 접착되는 감쇠 테이프나 코팅등은 아주 효과적임이 입증되었다. 마찬가지로 지지부 감쇠처리는 점탄성재료의 삽입에 의해서 설명될수 있다[1]. 보/평판의 감쇠에 대한 최근의 많은 연구들은 진동하고 있는 보/평판의 표면에 적용하는 감쇠 테이프 혹은 적층형태의 감쇠 처리방법에 대해서 주로 수행되었다. 일반적으로 표면감쇠처리방법은 진동감소에 아주 효과적이지만 실제 적용상에서 항상 가능한 것은 아니며, 이와 같은 경웨는 지지부 감쇠 처리방법에 의존하게 된다[2]. 감쇠특성을 갖는 점탄성재료를 실제로 적용할 때 보/평판의 유한한 길이가 점탄성재료로 지지되며 점탄성재료의 물성치와 치수에 따라서 계의 모우드 매개변수(고유진동수, 계의 손실계수 그리고 모우드형상)가 크게 달라진다. 그리고 이와 같은 계에 대해서는 지지부의 거동보다는 전체 시스템의 고유진동수와 손실계수 그리고 보 영역에서의 모우드 형상에 더 관심이 있으므로 지지부 영역을 집중매개변수(lumped parameter)로 나타내어 계를 해석할 수 있다. 일반적으로 보와 평판의 경계에서는 병진 및 회전방향의 강성 뿐만 아니라 두 강성사이에 연성효과도 동시에 발생하게 되므로 이 항을 고려하여 계를 모델링해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 우선 점탄성 재료에 의한 지지부영역의 등가 강성계수들을 구하고 경계에 강성행렬을 갖는 보의 등가시스템을 얻는다. 그리고 등가시스템의 주파수방정식으로부터 모우드 매개변수에 대한 지지부의 영향을 살펴본다. 또한 시스템이 비교적 복잡한 사각 평판의 진동에 대해서도 동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system.
