While Long Term Evolution-Frequency Division Duplexing (LTE-FDD) is regarded as one of the strong candidates for "4G" wireless broadband access in FDD field, LTE-Time Division Duplexing (TDD) is emerging as one possible migration path for WiMAX-TDD in some cases as well as the migration path for Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA). In this paper, we analyze the feasibility of dual mode with LTE-TDD in two combinations: dual mode LTE-FDD/TDD and dual mode Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX)-TDD/LTE-TDD. Thanks to the commonality in numerology, terminology, and frame structure between LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD, dual mode LTE-FDD/TDD looks feasible in a cost-effective manner. Thanks to the commonality in scheduling algorithm, control mechanism, and supported spectrum bands, it is shown that dual mode WiMAX-TDD/LTE-TDD looks feasible as well. It should be also noted that the commonality in numerology and frame structure is critical for building a chip while the commonality in algorithms and control mechanisms is critical to make it work.

When the WiBro/WLAN hierarchical network is structured, a dual mode access terminal should keep WLAN module with power on state for operating in WiBro network outside of WLAN hotspot zone. Power consumption of user's access terminal can be increased to maintain WLAN module power on state of dual mode access terminal in WiBro network outside of the hotspot zone. This paper focuses on power saving strategy for a dual mode access terminal in WiBro/WLAN Hierarchical network to overcome problems regarding power. We will apply information about hotspot in WiBro network to establish the efficient power saving strategy for dual mode access terminal.

본 논문에서는 임베디드 리눅스 기반의 응용 서비스인 모바일 이야기꾼의 설계 및 구현에 대해서 기술한다. 모바일 이야기꾼은 음성 통신을 위해 CDMA 네트워크와 데이터 통신을 위해 와이브로 네트워크를 동시에 사용한다. 송신자가 CDMA와 WiBro를 지원하는 듀얼모드 단말에서 텍스트를 입력하면 텍스트는 와이브로 네트워크를 통해 인터넷 상에 위치한 TTS 서버에 전달된다. 텍스트를 전달받은 TTS 서버는 텍스트를 음성으로 변경하고, 듀얼모드 지원 단말에 음성 데이터를 전송하게 된다. 마지막으로, 듀얼모드 지원 단말은 변환된 음성을 CDMA 네트워크를 통해 수신자에게 전달하게 된다. 모바일 이야기꾼은 주변환경이 시끄럽거나, 송신자가 언어장애가 있는 경우에도 사용자로 하여금 음성 통화를 할 수 있도록 지원한다.

본 논문은 DC/DC 위상천이 풀브릿지 컨버터의 과도상태 개선을 위한 듀얼모드 제어를 제안한다. 기존의 discontinuous conduction mode (DCM)과 continuous conduction mode (CCM)을 이용하여 운용하는 위상천이 풀브릿지 컨버터는 각 모드의 상이한 전압게인의 특성을 고려하지 않아 급격한 로드 변동시 출력 전압의 언더슈트 혹은 오버슈트가 크게 발생한다. 제안하는 듀얼모드 제어는 DCM과 CCM 각 모드 별개로 제어가 적용되고 출력 전류의 변화에 대응하는 적응형 feed-forward 제어가 적용되어 컨버터의 과도상태를 개선할 수 있다. 듀얼모드의 제어 방법의 성능과 타당성을 시뮬레이션을 통해 입증한다.

This paper describes the implementations of the first application service based on embedded Linux; Mobile Teller which uses WiBro network for data communications and CDMA network for voice communications. Currently, with the appearance of WiBro service, dual-mode terminals which support two heterogeneous networks are available. But, the development of applications which effectively use these networks for providing better service to user is rarely prepared. At Mobile Teller, when a sender on a dual-mode terminal types texts, the texts are transmitted to a TTS server located in the Internet through WiBro network. Subsequently, the TTS server converts the texts into voices and transmits the voice data to the dual-mode terminal. At last the dual-mode terminal sends the voice to the receiver through the CDMA network. In case of noisy environment or when a user has difficulty in speaking, Mobile Teller makes voice communication possible

This paper describes the implementations of the application service based on embedded Linux; Personal Audio Recorder (PAR) which uses WiBro network for data communications and CDMA network for voice communications. At PAR, when PAR client starts voice recording on a dual-mode terminal, the CDMA voice data of caller and callee is transmitted to storage server located in the Internet through WiBro network. Then, PAR server stores voice data on storage server according to the call number and call time. In case of shortage of storage space on terminal, PAR makes user to store voice data. And, PAR can search a catalog of stored data on server and play the specific content.

본 논문은 기존의 단일 서버스와 고정된 특정 지역으로 한정된 센서네트워크 개념에서 탈피하여, 사용자가 휴대가능하여 어디서나 센서네트워크를 구성할 수 있고 센서네트워크에 접속할 수 있도록 하는 Zigbee 프로토콜을 이용하는 무선 센서 플랫폼(wireless sensor platform) 구조를 제안한다. 본 논문이 제안하는 무선센서플랫폼은 센서모듈을 이용하여 특정 종류의 물리량 또는 화학성분량을 검출하고 이를 무선통신으로 전달하거나 또는 자체 디스플레이에 표시하는 듀얼모드가 가능하다. 플랫폼의 구조는 휴대 폰과 접속하여 휴대폰으로부터 전원을 공급받고 상호간 데이터를 교환하기 위한 휴대폰 접속부와, 다른 센서노드나 PC 등에 데이터를 송수신하기 위한 Zigbee 무선통신부, 그리고 센서모듈 접속부로 구성되 며, 각각에 대한 구조를 설명한다. 휴대폰의 자원을 이용하여 센서노드의 휴대성을 극대화한 휴대폰 장 착 센서 노드들로 네트워크를 구성하는 방식의 제공은 개인 사용자의 센서네트워크 참여를 이끌고 환경 감시네트워크 등 다양한 서비스를 이끌어 낼 수 있다.

In this paper, the Window based dual-mode audio receiver of DAB and DAB+(Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus) is designed, and audio performance of it is analyzed. DAB+ can be composed of DAB and AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) for more effective audio services in the limited channel bandwidth. In the result of thesis, the Window based receiver can simultaneously be decoded for DAB/DAB+ dual-mode audio.

본 논문에서는 음성통화를 위해 CDMA 네트워크와 데이터 통신을 위해 와이브로 네트워크를 동시에 사용하는 임베디드 리눅스 기반 듀얼모드 응용 서비스인 개인 오디오 레코더의 구현에 대해서 기술한다. 개인 오디오 레코더는 듀얼모드 지원 단말에 탑재된 클라이언트에서 음성 녹음을 시작하면, 송신자와 수신자의 CDMA 음성 데이터가 와이브로 네트워크를 통해 인터넷 상의 개인 오디오 레코더 서버로 전달된다. 개인 오디오 레코더 서버는 통화 번호 및 통화 시간에 따라 음성 데이터를 저장하게 된다. 구현된 개인 오디오 레코더는 단말의 저장공간이 부족한 환경에서도 음성통화 내용을 저장할 수 있도록 한다.
