The buffer activities of 72 species of natural pH adjusters in Chinese herb medicine materials of food materials by 100% acetic acid$({\mu}{\ell})$ titration until pH 4.0 in the $100m{\ell}$ of 1 % solution of the pH adjuster were evaluated for their abilities to retard acidification of Kimchi. There were 14 species above 100 of buffer activity such as Glycerehizae Radix(150), Siler divaricatum Benthan et Hooker etc. among selected Chinese herb medicine materials. In selected Chinese herb medicine materials, the buffer activities of Erillae Herba+Glycyrehizae Radix, Erillae Herba+Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Erillae Herba+Glycyrehizae Radix, Erillae Herba+Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Erillae Herba+Puerariae Radix, Chrysanthenum sinense+Puerariae Radix, Alismatis Rhizoma+Angelicae gigantis and Dioscoreae Rhizoma+Puerariae Radix were above 150 by same amount blending each other. Species and buffer activities of natural pH adjusters, which are higher buffer capabilities in mushroom, bean and vegetable classes were mungbean(207). soybean(160), pease(190), fungus(225), Garland chrysanthemum(200), amaranth(175), wild sesame leaf(200), parsley(202) and green pepper(257) etc. Species and buffer activities of higher buffer capabilities of natural pH adjusters of natural blending pH adjusters which is synergistic effect or natural blending pH adjusters which is synergistic effect mixing with radish juice were mung bean+peas(272), mung bean+soy bean(282), fungus+parsley(302), Garlan chrysanthenum+amaranth(300), Garland chrysanthenum+wild sesame leaf(277), amaranth+green pepper(300) and amaranthe+parsley(280) etc and those mixing with cabbage juice were peas+fungus(202), Garland chrysanthenum(207) and fungus+parsely (205) etc.
Estimation of concentrations of PAHs [benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, benzo(a)pyrene, dibenzo(a,h)anthracene, benzo(g,h,i)perylene, indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene] in cereals, pulses, potatoes, and their products available in Korean markets gave mean levels of 0.13, 0.08, 0.06, 0.03, 0.08, 0.15, 0.45, and $0.14{\mu}g/kg$, respectively, with recoveries between 82.6-106.6%. Methodology involved saponification and extraction with n-hexane, purification on Sep-Pak Florisil cartridges, and high performance liquid chromatography using a fluorescence detector.
To improve functionality of rice, we manufactured mixed cereals and mixed cereals with taste materials and evaluated their antioxidant component (ascorbic acid, tocopherols, polyphenols and flavonoids) contents and sensory evaluation. Ascorbic acid content in water extract of the control was 6.68 mg%, and mixed cereals were 18.23 and 21.84 mg%, respectively. Ascorbic acid content in methanol extract of the control was lower than those of mixed cereals too. ${\beta}$-Tocopherol was the only tocopherol detected in the control. However, tocopherols detected in mixed cereals were ${\alpha}$-, ${\beta}$-. ${\gamma}$-, ${\delta}$-tocopherol and ${\alpha}$-, ${\gamma}$-tocotrienol, with a highest content of ${\gamma}$-tocopherol. Total tocophenols content of the control was 1.26 mg%, whereas, those of mixed cereals were 19.24 and 39.32 mg%, respectively. Polyphenols contents in water extract of the control was 2.20 mg%, and mixed cereals were 14.38 and 21.91 mg%, respectively. In addition, polyphenols contents in methanol extract of mixed cereals were higher than that of the control, too. Flavonoids were undetected in water extract of the control, but flavonoids contents of mixed cereals were 42.45 and 32.54 mg%, respectively. In methanol extracts, flavonoids contents of the control and mixed cereals were not significantly different. The sensory parameters including taste, flavor, color, texture and overall acceptance of control were lower than those of mixed cereals. Especially, mixed cereals with taste materials was the highest acceptance.

This study conducted individual in-depth interviews of tourists from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand who visited Daegu. According to the analysis, Taiwan's target audience conducted an interview at the Chimac Festival in July 2018 at Duryu Park and was a university student as an individual female tourist. She got the information through SNS. The accommodation was guest house and medium and low cost hotel. The main tourist attractions included Seomun Market Night Market, Eworld and Dongseongno. The meals were Anjirang Gopchang and Galbijim in Dongin-dong. Next, the Hong Kong tourist interview was held in May 2018 at the Kwandeung Festival in Duryu Park, and was an individual tourist as a man. Lastly, an interview with a Thai tourist was held in April 2018 at the Donghwa Temple Cherry Blossom Festival in Palgongsan Mountain, and he purchased a travel agent product as a man. Participants of the tour in Daegu were interested in unusual experiences such as beauty, wedding, theme parks, and restaurants that are unique to Korea. What was disappointing was that there were not enough shopping facilities, such as duty free shops, and that the table in the restaurant was inconvenient, and that there were not enough signboards by language for foreigners.
This is a study on a landscape planning along the street 1~4, which are gateways to Taegu city and an important scenery. Therefore, emphasis was given to provide a bright, clean and beautiful first impression to visitors and citizens. The area is being developed for education and athletic park. Plans to construct a fountain, pergolas and a pond were set up to complement the active and passive facilities to the existing a athletic facilities in the area. Since D part in the area have alkali soil (pH 8.1), soil amendment is necessary for successful growth of trees and ground covers. When the area is filled or added with new soil for soil amendment, it will be important to use fresh soil which can support plant growth. It will be ideal to use ground covers and shrubs on the existing retaining walls along the street for keeping natural vegetation and slope stability instead of further cutting and reconstruction. It is not reasonable in technical and economic sense to remove rocks of the slope for planting trees. In order to harmonize plant color distribute, tall needle and broad leaf trees in the background as a screen, flowering trees were arranged in groups at front, and annuals were mass-planted along the footway. Natural-form-trees will be planted because they not only serve as a greenbelt but also are more economics in maintenance than formative trees.
The present study was conducted to evaluate the usefulness of four kinds of legumes(black soybean: BS, yellow soybean: YS, green peas: GP, soybean curd residue: SCR) as a high-fiber supplement in the therapeutic diet for diabetic patients. Seven groups of normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats were fed isocaloric experimental diets containing 8% dietary fiber from one of legumes for 6 weeks. The effects of legumes on the gastrointestinal function and diabetic symptoms in diabetic rats were also examined and compared with the effects of cellulose or pectin diet. Legume supplementations had no significant effects on alleviating typical diabetic symptoms such as polydipsia, polyphasia, polyuria, and urinary glucose excretion when compared with cellulose or pectin supplementations. The supplementations of legumes all resulted in remarkable changes in gastrointestinal functions: shortening of GI transit time and increases in fecal volume, fecal water and crude fat contents. Legume supplementations appeared to supress the damages of the small intestine villi and the enteritis symptoms in diabetic rats. GP led to regular villus patterns closer to normal villus. BS, YS and GP led to the enlargement of cecum in diabetic rats. In conclusion, the present studies have demonstrated that legumes may possess a significant physiological actions in the control of various diabetic conditions.
This study was conducted to know the insect fauna on the 5 green Parks areas of Daegu Metropolitan city. Materials were collected by net sweeping and pitfall trap of cup. As the result, 100 species of 93 genera belonging to 61 families in 9 orders were surveyed, among them, Yeonam Park showed highest insect occurrence as 61 species belonging to 35 families of 8 orders. The other side, lowest site was Gukchae-Bosang memorial Park as 2 species from 2 orders. There was more species in broad-leaf tree area than mixture area of broadleaf and needle-leaf trees. Turf grass areas in the Parks showed low insect diversities.

Pulses are an annual leguminous crop yielding from one to twelve grains or seeds. This study was used eight pulses except for green beans. We evaluated the chemical characteristics of these raw pulses produced in Korea. The nutritional and functional contents such as moisture, carbohydrate, crude protein, crude lipid, ash, dietary fiber, minerals(Ca, P, Fe, Na, and K), vitamins (A, E, C, B groups, folic acid, and niacin), total polyphenol, carotenoid, and flavonoid containing isoflavone were investigated. As a results, all raw samples were shown the high levels of almost nutritional contents (especially, protein, fats, and fat-soluble vitamins). In addition, yellow soybeans, red bean, and kidney bean were high the contents of total polyphenol. Of the functional contents, three lands of the yellow soybeans were shown the high flavonoid. This study represent much to provide the fundamental nutrition and function data in pulses because they have significant nutritional and health advantages for humans.
To survey the incidence of plant-parasitic nematodes, 187 soil samples from leguminous plant fields in Chungnam province, Korea were assessed from June to August 2018. As the result, four nematode genera - the cyst nematode (Heterodera spp.), root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.), root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus spp.), spiral nematode (Helicotylenchus spp.) - were detected. Among them, the incidence of cyst nematode was the highest in Taean (73%) and lowest in Hongseong (10%). The cyst nematode was detected from the adzuki and kidney bean fields as well as soybean fields. The incidence of cyst nematode in upland fields was higher than in paddy fields. In addition, the extracted cyst nematodes consisted of two species, which was identified as Heterodera glycines and H. sojae. The incidence of H. glycines (22%) was higher than H. sojae (10%), and a few of the fields (5%) was mixed with two cyst nematodes. This result suggested that we should consider that the cyst nematode is the major plantparasitic nematode when controlling the nematodes in soybean fields in Chungnam province.
