A Study for the Dynamic Characteristics and Correlation with Test Result of Gantry Robot based on Finite Element Analysis (유한요소해석을 이용한 Gantry Robot의 동특성 및 측정 결과와의 상관관계 연구)

  • According to the development of IT industry, prevalence of AOI equipment is spreading, and also requiring the high resolution of the camera used in the equipment. The weight of the camera is increased to obtain a high resolution, and thus increases the vibration displacement is a problem occurring in the picturing, camera motion control also becomes difficult. In this study, using a finite element analysis program NX/NASTRAN, the transient response of the camera was analysed which is subjected to an impact force due to inertia. The finite element analysis result is correlated with laser interferometer measurement. When AOI equipment is restructuring, the correlated finite element analysis model can be used to verify the authenticity of the new design.

  • Track irregularities is one of the key factors influencing the running behavior of trains. In order to ensure safety and ride comfort of train, the criteria for track irregularities should be adequately established regarding vehicle velocity, vehicle characteristics, characteristics of the track recording car, and measurement interval. Also, track maintenance should be carried out thoroughly according to the criteria for managing track irregularities. Numerical analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of track alignment on the running behavior of Korean high speed train(KTX). Various wavelengths and amplitudes of lateral alignment were considered as parameters for this study using the Vampire program, a vehicle dynamics modeling package in railway environment. Derailment, lateral load, bogie acceleration and body acceleration of numerical analysis results due to alignment were investigated. Finally, the influence of the alignment on safety and ride comfort for the KTX was evaluated. This study indicates that alignment irregularities have significant impacts on running safety, and that the criteria used to manage alignment irregularities should be restrictive to ensure the running safety of the KTX.

  • The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institutes has been developing the SMART (System integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor), an environment-friendly nuclear reactor for the generation of electricity and to perform desalination. SMART reactors can be exposed to various external and internal loads caused by seismic and coolant flows. The CRDM(control rod drive mechanism), one of structures of the SMART, is a component which is adjusting inserting amount of a control rod, controlling output of reactor power and in an emergency situation, inserting a control rod to stop the reactor. The purpose of this research is performing the analysis of dynamic characteristic to ensure safety and integrity of structure of CRDM. This paper presents two FE-models, 3-D solid model and simplified Beam model of the CRDM in the coolant, and then compared the results of the dynamic characteristic about the two FE-models using a commercial Finite Element tool, ABAQUS CAE V6.8 and ANSYS V12. Beam 4 and beam 188 of simplified-model were also compared each other. And simplified model is updated for accuracy compare to 3-D solid.

  • Dam movements are identified in real-time with measuring instruments for dam maintenance. However, for dams that have aged, the measuring instruments that were installed during the dam construction are frequently malfunctioning or completely failing altogether. Precision safety diagnosis is being executed for dams that are national facilities Type 1. During the diagnosis, a safety assessment is conducted for the dam body. Normally, during the analysis of dam safety, the widest cross-section is selected and a two-dimensional numerical analysis is taken place for the cross-section. However, numerous researchers have recently looked into applying the 3-dimensional numerical analysis program developments to precisely analyze the structure of the dam, as well as the surrounding strata, and the lower dam strata. In this study, PLAXIS 3D, a geotechnical generic FEM analysis program, was used to conduct dam safety assessments for earthquakes. The following were compared and analyzed: considering the seismic properties of the dam body with all zoned structures reflected as one rock-fill zone together with the dam body, considering the dam body as the rock-fill zone and the core zone, and the numerical analysis results. Thus, the study was aimed to analyze the impact properties of seismic waves according to the different zones.

  • 최근 전자 및 광학 분야에 있어서의 눈부신 발전은 다면경 가공기나 초정밀 연삭기와 같은 초정밀 가공기계의 개발과 실용화에 힘입은 바 크다. 이러한 초정밀 가공기의 성능을 좌우하는 핵심 요소로서 추축계를 들수 있으며, 비교적 소형 경량의 공박물을 가공하는 기계의 주축용 베어링으로는 오일 베어링을 대신하여 공기 베어링이 점차 널리 사용되고 있다. 이러한 가공기에 많이 사용되는 외부 가압 공기 베어링은 동압 공기 베어링과는 달리, 외부에서 가압된 압축공기에 의하여 공기막을 형성하므로, 시동과 정지시 마멸이 없고 저속에서도 비교적 높은 하중 지지력을 얻을 수 있으며, 오일 베어링과 비교하여서는 발열이 적고 윤활제의 유출에 의한 오염의 위험이 없다는 특성외에 공기막에 의한 평균화 효과에 의하여 고정도의 운전이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 점급기원의 가정하게 직접 수치해법을 사용하는 해석 프로그램을 작성하여, 무차원화된 설계 변수들에 대한 외부가압 공기베어링의 정$\cdot$동특성수들을 구하고자 한다.

  • 구조물의 건전도를 평가하기 위해 상시 구조물 계측을 이용한 Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) 시스템을 적용하게 된다. SHM 시스템의 궁극적 목적은 계측된 데이터를 이용하여 구조물의 손상위치 및 손상정도를 분석하여 거주자에게 유지관리정보와 대처요령 신속하게 제공하는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 구조물의 손상탐지를 위해 인공신경망(Artificial Neural Network)을 도입한 알고리즘을 수립하고, 이를 3층 실대 RC Mock-up 구조물에 적용하여 성능을 평가하였다. 먼저 인공신경망의 학습을 위해 구조해석 프로그램을 이용하여 구조물의 손상에 따른 동적특성 변화 데이터베이스를 구축하였다. 그리고 학습된 인공망에 실제 구조물에서 추출한 동특성의 변화를 입력하여 손상탐지를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 인공신경망의 학습방법, 학습데이터의 정규화 방법 등을 규명하고 인공신경망을 이용한 손상탐지의 효과를 분석하였다.

Transient Dynamic Stress Analysis of Transversely Isotropic Cylinders Subject to Longitudinal Impact (충격압축하중을 받는 횡등방성 중실축의 과도 동적해석)

  • Elastic wave propagations in the semi-infinite transversely isotropic cylinder under various kinds of longitudinal impact loads are analyzed using the axisymmetric finite element method and Houbolt time-integration scheme. For which the finite element program is newly constructed and verified through the comparison of present numerical results with those by other researchers. E-type glass-epoxy composite cylinders with different fiber volume fractions are adopted and studied in detail with dynamic responses of the isotropic cylinder. Three dimensional wave motions are given in graphic form to show the realistic view of the wave propagation. Nondimensionalized dynamic characteristic variables which relate the size of finite element mesh, the time step, and the wave speed are presented for obtaining accurate and stable numerical results.

  • After spacecraft is separated from the launch vehicle, first of all spacecraft deploy the solar array. Solar array deployment is one of the key factors deciding the success of the spacecraft mission. Therefore, It is necessary to predict the solar array deployment motion and check the safety through calculating the load on the tape hinges of solar array using the deployment analysis in the initial design phase. In this paper, solar array deployment analysis is performed by multi-body dynamics simulation program. From the analysis results, assessment on the safety also is carried out. In addition, hinge characteristic test is fulfilled to find out hinge characteristic, and is applied to the deployment analysis.

  • In general, several computational resources are required to perform multiple-loading transient response analyses. In this paper, we present the procedure for multiple-loading transient response analysis using the Krylov subspace model order reduction and Newmark's time integration scheme. We utilized ANSYS MAPDL, Python, and ANSYS ACT to automate the transient response analysis procedure in the ANSYS Workbench environment and studied several engineering numerical examples to demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed approach.

A Numerical Study of Fire Dynamics of The Enclosed Compartment with Window Glass Breaking (밀폐된 구획의 창유리 파단시 화재 특성에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • The use of computer supported fire safety engineering calculations has grown significantly in recent years and will be increased rapidly. In this study, in order to examine for fire dynamics of the enclosed compartment with window glass(3mm, 4mm thickness) when the window glass breaks, we conducted numerical computer simulations about foam sofa fire with the zone type computer mode, FASTLite package(version 1.1.2) and the Berkeley algorithm for breaking window glass in a compartment fire, BREAK1 program (version 1.0). The analysis of the results in this paper shows that there are differences of fire dynamics between open-or enclosed-state compartment fire and the enclosed compartment fire with window glass breaking. It is also shown in this study that backdraft phenomenum occurs due to accumulated unburned combustible fuel when the glass of 4mm thickness breaks, and that temperature differences between the inner-and outer-surfaces of 3mm and 4mm thick glasses are appreciable. This study will help fire fighter to establish fire suppression or occupant's refuge strategies and fire safety engineer to enhance simulation techniques about the five dynamics of compartment fire.
