수소 난류 확산화염에서의 선회류에 의한 배기배출물 특성 (Characteristics of NOx Emission in a Swirl Flow in Nonpremixed Turbulent Hydrogen Jet with Coaxial Air)

  • 동축공기 수소 난류 확산화염에서 선회류가 NOx에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 공기와의 혼합을 증가시키기 위해 동축공기관에 스월러의 각도를 30, 45, 60, $90^{\circ}$로 바꾸어가며 화염길이와 질소산화물 배출수준을 측정하였다. 연료 속도를 85.7~160.2 m/s, 동축공기 속도는 7.4~14.4 m/s로 조절하였다. 실험을 통해 동축 공기 속도 증가에 따라 화염길이와 질소산화물 배출수준은 증가하였고, 회전류 증가에 따라 감소함을 관찰하였다. EINOx에 미치는 동축공기와 회전류 영향을 상사하기 위하여 far-field 개념의 유효직경($d_{F,eff}$)을 도입하여 동축공기와 선회류에 의한 혼합효과를 표현하였다. 질소산화물 배기배출지표는 화염체류시간(${\sim}{\tau_R}^{1/2.8}$)과 전체 신장률(${\sim}{S_G}^{1/2.8}$)에 영향을 받았다.

  • Experimental study in coflow jet flames has been conducted to investigate the effects of adding $N_2$, $CO_2$ and He to coflowing air-side in self-excitations. Differences in the behaviors between buoyancy-driven and diffusive-thermal self-excitations with similar frequency range are explored and discussed in laminar coflow jet flames.

  • The effect of electric fields on the stability of non-premixed laminar lifted flame in coflow jets has been investigated by applying high voltage alternative current (AC) to the nozzle of propane fuel. The stable lifted flame which exist in far field of jets, the liftoff height was not effected by applied voltage. This implies that the cold jet between the nozzle and flame base can be analyzed with the previous cold jet theory. Flame liftoff and reattachment velocities were also measured as function of applied voltage and frequency. The fuel jet velocity at flame liftoff and reattachment increased with increasing voltage, implying that the range of flame srability can be extended with the AC charging. However the liftoff velocity increased with frequency of AC charging on nozzle, whereas the reattachment velocity decreases with frequency. The liftoff and reattachment velocities were correlated linearly with voltage considering the effects of frequency.

  • Characteristics of laminar lifted names in coflow jet with various coflow velocities have been studied experimently. USlI1g the fuel nozzle with d=0.254 for the pure propane, liftoff heights are fitted by using power equation with jet velocity. As coflow velocity increases up to 60 cm/s powers of fitting equation steeply decrease. From the result of numerical analysis using the FLUENT, the stoichiometry contour and the axial velocity nondimensionalized by initial jet velocity along the stoichiometry contour are changed with variations of coflow velocities, The change of axial velocity along stoichiometric contour is more sensitive than that of stoichiometric contour, For this reason, powers of fitting equation for liftoff height with jet velocity decreases with the increase of coflow velocity. Using the fuel nozzle with d=4,35 mm for the highly diluted propane by nitrogen, the liftoff height increases with the increase of coflow velocity when coflow velocity is less than the maximum value of initial jet velocity. But when coflow velocity is faster than that, the liftoff height decreases with the increase of coflow velocity.

  • 수소제트와 동축공기를 사용한 본 연구에서, 난류확산화염의 화염안정성 특징을 실험적으로 수행하였다. 목적은 연료속도 증가에 따라 감소하는 부상화염길이의 경향을 보고하고, 부상 메커니즘을 포함한 화염구조를 분석하는 것이다. 수소연료는 100에서 300 m/s 사이에서 조절되었으며, 이때 동축공기는 16 m/s 고정되고, 주위류는 0.1 m/s 이하로 유지되었다. 유동장과 연소장 동시측정을 위하여, 두 대의 Nd:Yag 레이저와 CCD 카메라를 이용하여 PIV와 OH PLIF 기법이 사용되었다. 결론적으로 난류화염전파속도는 난류강도에 비례하였으며, 제트 레이놀즈수의 0.017승에 비례하였다.

자발화된 메탄 부상화염에 대한 수소 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Hydrogen Addition on Autoignited Methane Lifted Flames)

  • 고온의 동축류 공기와 수소가 함유된 메탄 연료제트에서 자발화된 층류 부상화염의 특성을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 그 결과로 순수 메탄 제트에서 자발화되는 경계 온도인 920 K 를 초과하는 초기 온도에서 메탄/수소 혼합기의 자발화된 부상화염은 연료 몰분율에 따라 삼지화염 또는 마일드 연소를 보였고, 제트속도에 따라 부상화염의 높이가 증가하는 전형적인 특성을 보였다. 소량의 수소가 첨가된 부상화염의 높이는 메탄의 경우와 유사하게 단열적 점화지연시간의 2 승에 대한 의존성이 유지되었다. 반면에, 초기 온도가 920 K 미만인 경우에서 화염은 수소의 점화 촉진에 의해서 자발화 되었다. 그리고 제트속도가 증가함에 따라 자발화된 부상화염의 높이는 비선형적으로 감소하는 독특한 특성을 보였으며, 수소의 선호확산이 그 현상에 대해서 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 예상된다.

  • The effect of electric fields on the propagation speed of tribrachial flames has been investigated in a coflow jet by observing the transient flame propagation behavior after ignition. Without having electric fields, the propagation speed of tribrachial flame edges showed a typical behavior by having an inverse proportionality to the mixture fraction gradient at the flame edge. The behavior of flame propagation with the electric fields was investigated by applying high voltage to the central fuel nozzle and the enhancement of propagation speed has been observed by varying the applied voltage and frequency for AC electric fields. The propagation speed of tribrachial flame was also investigated by applying negative and positive DC voltages to the nozzle and similar improvements of the propagation speed were also observed. The propagation speeds of tribrachial flames in both the AC and DC electric fields were correlated well with the electric field intensity, defined by the electric voltage divided by the distance between the nozzle electrode and the edge of tribrachial flames.

  • Characteristics of lifted flames in axisymmetric laminar coflow jets have been investigated experimentally. Approximate equations for velocity and concentration with virtual origins have been proposed to analyze the behavior of flames in coflow jets. Measuring Rayleigh intensity to investigate the concentration field. proposed approximate equations were confirmed. By using the results of OH PLIF, direct photography and Rayleigh scattering measurement, it is shown that the locations of maximum intensity in direct photography coincide with the tribrachial points in axisymmetric jets and the tribrachial points travel on the stoichiometric contour. For coflow jets, the experimental results of liftoff height have been successfully correlated with nozzle exit velocity using predicted behavior from proposed approximated equations. These results substantiate the stabilization mechanism in coflow jet is based on the balance between flame propagation speed and axial flow velocity, same as for the free jets.
