Fast Video Detection Using Temporal Similarity Extraction of Successive Spatial Features (연속하는 공간적 특징의 시간적 유사성 검출을 이용한 고속 동영상 검색)

  • The growth of multimedia technology forces the development of video detection for large database management and illegal copy detection. To meet this demand, this paper proposes a fast video detection method to apply to a large database. The fast video detection algorithm uses spatial features using the gray value distribution from frames and temporal features using the temporal similarity map. We form the video signature using the extracted spatial feature and temporal feature, and carry out a stepwise matching method. The performance was evaluated by accuracy, extraction and matching time, and signature size using the original videos and their modified versions such as brightness change, lossy compression, text/logo overlay. We show empirical parameter selection and the experimental results for the simple matching method using only spatial feature and compare the results with existing algorithms. According to the experimental results, the proposed method has good performance in accuracy, processing time, and signature size. Therefore, the proposed fast detection algorithm is suitable for video detection with the large database.

  • Highly integrated MPEG-4@SP video compression engine, VideoCore, is proposed for mobile application. The primary components of video compression require the high memory bandwidth since they access the external memory frequently. They include motion estimation, motion compensation, quantization, discrete cosine transform, variable length coding, and so on. The motion estimation processor adopted in VideoCore utilizes the small-size local memories such that the video compression system accesses external memory as less frequently as possible. The entire video compression system is divided into two distinct sub-systems: the integer-unit motion estimation part and the others, and both operate concurrently in a pipelined architecture. Thus the VideoCore enables the real-time high-quality video compression with a relatively low operation frequency.

Recovery of Copper from Waste Water by $H_2$Reduction (동폐수용액으로부터 수소환원법에 의한 동의 회수)

  • The recovery of copper from $\alpha$-Etchent waste and pure copper solution was studied by the $H_2$reduction process. The results of test were as following: 1) The recovery of copper was increased with increasing hydrogen pressure and stirring speed up to 300 psi and 500 rpm, respectively, and was decreased in the higher values. But the recovery of copper from the fresh copper solution and $\alpha$-Etchent solution reached 90% and 60%, respectively. And in all tests the copper recovery from pure copper solution is higher by 30~40% than that from $\alpha$Etchent solution. 2) The recovery of copper was increased up to 30 minute of reaction time, and after then it became constant. The copper particles prepared in the initial 30 min have the needle-like shapes and in the longer reaction time than 30 min the shape was changed into noudle-like form. The average particle size was about $2~3\mu\textrm{m}$.

The Fluidity Properties of High Strength Concrete adding Copper Slag as Mineral Admixture (동제련 슬래그를 혼입한 고강도 콘크리트의 유동특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines the properties of high-fluidity concrete after adding copper slag as a mineral admixture. For this purpose, the replacement ratio of cement to copper slag was varied to 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. A slump flow test, reach time slump flow of 500 mm, and a U-Box and O-lot test were conducted on the fresh concrete. The compressive strength of the hardened concrete was determined at 3, 7, 14 and 28 days. According to the test results, the workability, compaction, and compressive strength of the high-fluidity concrete increased when replacing 30% of the cement with copper slag. These parameters decreased for all material ages with more than 30% copper slag, which was the optimal mixture ratio.

Effective PPL Arrangements in the Screen of Multimedia Contents (멀티미디어 콘텐츠화면에서의 효과적인 PPL 배치)

  • This study explores the attention effects of PPL(product placement) in multimedia contents. PPL has been attracted attention in multimedia as well as marketing communication field as a beneficiary model. For the research, multimedia screen is divided into 9 sections and the serial 9 digit($1{\sim}9$) is assigned to the each part of the screen. The visual exposure forms of each 9 digit are composed by 2-dimension(2D) and 3-dimension(3D). And the visual exposure patterns of each 9 digit are consisted of stopping and moving image. As a result, the 5th quartering has been proved the most attracted attention regardless of all exposure forms including 2D/3D and slopping/moving image. This means center of the multimedia screen is the best place for PPL. Especially in one digit moving screen the attention of the digit has reached the climax. This suggests moving PPL is able to get more attention than stopping. These results provide the most effective PPL position in the screen of the multimedia and PPL's visual exposure forms for maximizing multimedia user's attention. Finally, these findings can be a guideline fer message arrangements of the multimedia screen.

Study on the Preparation of Copper Sulfate by Copper Powder using Cation Membrane Electrowinning Prepared from Waste Cupric Chloride Solution (염화동 폐액으로부터 양이온격막 전해 채취된 구리 분말을 이용한 황산동의 제조방법 연구)

  • Generally, $H_2SO_4$ and Cu metal are used as raw materials for producing copper sulfate. The study relates to a method for producing copper sulfate using electrowinning from a waste solution of copper chloride. Uses are used for copper plating for industry, plating, feed, agriculture, electronic grade PCB. Conventional methods for producing copper sulfate have a problem of a large amount of waste water and a high energy cost. A study on the production method of copper sulfate ($CuSO_4$), which is the most used among copper (Cu) compounds, has a low process operation ratio, a small amount of waste water, and a simple manufacturing process. It is easy to remove Na, Ca, Mg, and Al as impurities by using a cationic membrane. At the same time, high purity copper powder could be recovered by an electrowinninng method. Using the recovered copper powder, high purity copper sulfate could be produced.

  • In order to recommend contents, the company generally uses collaborative filtering that takes into account both user preferences and video (item) similarities. Such services are primarily intended to facilitate user convenience by leveraging personal preferences such as user search keywords and viewing time. It will also be ranked around the keywords specified in the video. However, there is a limit to analyzing video similarities using limited keywords. In such cases, the problem becomes serious if the specified keyword does not properly reflect the item. In this paper, I would like to propose a system that identifies the characteristics of a video as it is by the system without human intervention, and analyzes and recommends similarities between videos. The proposed system analyzes similarities by taking into account all words (keywords) that have different meanings from training videos, and in such cases, the methods handled by big data clusters are applied because of the large scale of data and operations.

  • This paper proposes a video content delivery scheme for vehicles. Today, we spend a lot of time commuting to work in vehicles such as trains and cars. In addition, the number of users who enjoy video content such as YouTube and Netflix in order to appease the boredom in the vehicle is increasing rapidly. Video content requires a larger amount of data usage than text-based content. Hence, the user's mobile communication data usage increases rapidly along with the cost. The proposed video content delivery scheme downloads a lot of video content in advance when the vehicle is in a free Wi-Fi area. In this way, it is possible to play video content in a vehicle at a low cost. It is expected that the proposed scheme can be applied to the Internet of Things(IoT) for moving objects.

  • This paper makes it possible to search videos based on sentence by improving the previous research which automatically generates rich metadata from videos and searches videos by key words. For search by sentence, morphemes are analyzed for each sentence, keywords are extracted, weights are assigned to each keyword, and some videos are recommended by applying a ranking algorithm developed in the previous research. In order to evaluate performance of video search in this paper, a sufficient amount of videos and sufficient number of user experiences are re required. However, in the current situation where these are insufficient, three indirect evaluation methods were used: evaluation of overall user satisfaction, comparison of recommendation scores and user satisfaction, and evaluation of user satisfaction by video categories. As a result of performance evaluation, it was shown that the rich metadata construction and video recommendation implementation in this paper give users high search satisfaction.

The experience of Long term Care Hospital Workers on Sexual Behaviors of the Elderly (노인 요양병원 종사자들의 노인 성행동 경험)

  • This study is an explorer study to investigate the experience of long term care hospital workers on the sexual behaviors of the elderly. The data were collected from August to October in 2019. The depth interview was implemented with using the semi structured questionnaires. The interview data collected from the participants were analyzed with using qualitative thematic analysis methods. The experience of long term care hospital workers regarding the elderly's sexual behaviors consisted of ten sub-categorized themes from the significant statements and was categorized into following four themes; 'Negative feelings related with elderlys' sexual behaviors', 'Difficulty of maintaining caring roles', 'Recognizing the absence of care for elderlys' sexual behavior', 'Accepting the therapeutic roles for elderlys' sexual behavior'. The findings could be the basic data for developing educational programs that help the long term care hospital workers understand the sexual behavior of the elderly.
