The Effects of Video-aided Peer Feedback on Enhancing Nursing Students' Understanding of Foley Catheterization (간호대학생의 유치도뇨 동영상 촬영을 이용한 토의식 동료평가 학습의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of peer feedback on nursing students using videos filmed during the catheterization procedure. Method: The study was a structured nonequivalent group, pretest-posttest design. The experimental group was filmed performing foley catheterization. After the procedure, the group video review followed and peer feedback was provided. Results: The experimental group had a higher mean score in learning motivation than the control group. However, the differences in learning attitude and self efficacy were not statistically significant. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that video-aided peer feedback was effective in enhancing students' motivation to learn psychomotor skills.

Knowledge Sharing in Co-worker Relationships: Interaction Effect of Quality of Co-worker Exchange and Learning Goal Orientation (동료 간 지식공유에 관한 연구: 동료관계의 질과 목표성향의 상호작용효과)

  • Knowledge sharing has many benefits; however, employees are generally reluctant to share their knowledge with co-workers. This reluctance can be attributed to the facts that sharing knowledge involves the threat of losing personal competitiveness and the codification of knowledge for sharing requires additional effort. This study explains why employees engage in knowledge sharing despite the threat and cost of sharing knowledge. Specifically, it examines the effects of the quality of co-worker exchange (CWX) on knowledge sharing and the moderating effect of learning goal orientation on the relationship between CWX and knowledge sharing. Data from 186 individuals indicate that there is a positive relationship between CWX and knowledge sharing, and that this relationship is strengthened when learning goal orientation is low rather than when it is high. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings are also discussed.

  • 실습교육에서 효과적인 교수법을 모색하기 위하여 또래교수법, 동료교수법, 상호동료교수법 등의 개념을 고찰하였고, 투표법(vote counting)을 통해 각 교수법들의 입증된 효과에 대해 규명하고자 하였다. 각 교수법은 모두 학업성취도와 만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 보건의료계열 학과의 실습교육에 대한 교수법은 실습내용과 각 교수법의 장단점을 고려하여 세분화되어 적용되어야 할 것이다. 보건의료계열 학과의 실습은 기자재 및 소모품의 사용을 필수로 하기 때문에 정해진 수업시간 내에 최적의 교수법을 적용하여 학습성취도를 향상시켜야 할 필요가 있다.

  • A programming language is very important subject in computer science. But it is difficult for many students to learn programming language. New pedagogical methods and techniques to help students to learn programming are needed. In this paper, we investigated the effects of Pair Programming, and we proposed a Pair programming strategy to improve programming skills. This paper examined the proposed Pair programming strategy. A empirical study showed the proposed teaching and learning strategy has positive effects on achievement and motivated strategies in programming course. Four factors - critical thinking, metacognitive reflection, effort regulation, and peer learning - have positive effects in learning strategies. The proposed Pair Programming strategy improves programming learning and motivated strategies.

Influence of emotional labor on job burnout in dental hygienists: the moderating effect of employee support (치과위생사의 감정노동수행형태가 직무소진에 미치는 영향: 동료지지의 조절효과)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of emotional labor on job burnout in dental hygienists based on the moderating effect of employee support. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire by Likert 5 point scale was completed by 219 dental hygienists in Ulsan and Gyeongbuk from March 15 to April 9, 2016. The study instruments consisted of emotional labor, job burnout og Maslach Burnout Inventory, and employee support. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Surface acting had a positive influence on achievement and negative influence on impersonal chemistry. Inner acting had a positive influence on emotional burnout and achievement. Employee support had a moderating effect on emotional labor and job burnout. Conclusions: The strategy of emotional labor management for dental hygienists is very important for job burnout solution.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of informational diversity-sensitive orientation on employee attitudes, focusing on the moderating effects of communication. Recently, diversity within organizations has intensified and the importance of diversity management within organizations is increasing. Diversity studies have focused on the variance of objective diversity characteristics, and have provided mixed results. In order to overcome limitations in the research, this study focuses on members' perception of diversity. To this end, the variable of informational diversity-sensitive orientation(IDSO) was used. Sample data is derived from 301 surveys of employees in firms located in South Korea. Results show that informational diversity-sensitive orientation(IDSO) had a positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Regarding the moderating effect of communication, a positive moderating effect was exhibited only in co-worker communication, and differential influence derived from communication type. Based on the analysis results, we discuss research implications and directions for future research.

Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Customer Orientation among Flight Attendants -moderating effect of social support- (국내 항공사 승무원의 감성지능이 고객지향성에 미치는 영향 -사회적 지원의 조절효과-)

  • The principal objective of this study is to examine the relationship between the emotional intelligence and customer orientation in airline service context. Moreover, this study was designed to test the moderating effect of social support to provide fundamental and practical data for airline industry. In this study, 2 hypotheses based on literature reviews were employed. A questionnaire was also developed based on previous studies. A convenience sample of 233 flight attendants was surveyed and a total of 214 usable questionnaires were analyzed. Then the data and hypotheses were examined using multiple regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. The results are as follows. Firstly, emotional intelligence was divided into 'self-emotional appraisal', 'other's emotional appraisal', 'regulation of emotion' and 'use of emotion' according to the literature review. Analysis showed that emotional intelligence has partial effect on customer orientation accordingly. Secondly, social support has partial moderating effects between emotional intelligence and customer orientation. Continuous and systematic training program which build up team work should be conducted to administer 'emotional intelligence'.

  • This study analyzed the direct effect of peer trustworthiness dimensions on individual Ambidexterity, and also tested the moderating effect of market turbulence. Market turbulence reflected in this study is to refer to the degree of changes in consumer preferences and demand in the market. The research results are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the relationship between trustworthiness dimensions and individual Ambidexterity, it was found that competence and authenticity had a significant effect on individual Ambidexterity. Second, in the relationship between trustworthiness dimensions and individual Ambidexterity, market turbulence shows a negative (-) interaction effect with ability, and a positive (+) interaction effect with integrity, thereby was analyzed to be playing a moderating role between trustworthiness dimensions and individual Ambidexterity.

The Moderating Effect of Social Support in the Relationship between Job Stress and Emotional Burnout of Insurance Call center consultants (보험회사 콜센터 상담사의 직무스트레스와 정서적 소진의 관계에서 사회적 지원의 조절효과)

  • This study was to investigate the moderating effect of the social support in the relationship between job stress and emotional burnout of insurance call center consultants. Participants in this study were 186 consultants working in insurance call center. They completed survey questionnaires of job stress, emotional burnout and social support. Collected data was examined using correlation analyses and hierarchical multiple regression analyses. There was a positive relationship between job stress and emotional burnout and a negative relationship between emotional burnout and coworker support. Also, it was found that the social support(supervisor support, coworker support) moderated the relationship between job stress and emotional burnout of insurance call center consultants. The implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
