Structural Design and Evaluation of Six-component Wheel Dynamometer (6축 휠 동력계의 구조설계 및 평가)

  • Wheel dynamometers are used to measure dynamic load that is conveyed from the road to a vehicle while driving. In this paper, two types of six-component wheel dynamometers utilizing shear deformation and bending deformation were designed and evaluated. Prior to designing the shear and bending type wheel dynamometers, the shear and bending deformation behaviors of the basic structure of the wheel dynamometer itself were analyzed using finite element analysis. Strain analysis was performed repeatedly in order to obtain a similar output sensing strain for each load component. The design was modified with a bridge circuit in order to minimize coupling strain. The results indicated that the shear type dynamometer was expected to obtain stable characteristics due to uniform strain distribution while the bending type dynamometer was expected to obtain high-quality sensitivity performance due to consistent output sensitivity.

Effective power for interrill erosion by rainfall-induced sheet flow (강우유발 면상흐름에 의한 세류간 침식에 대한 유효동력)

  • Interrill erosion on a hillslope results from the combined action of the detachment of soil particles by raindrop impact and the sediment transport of surface runoff. This study newly defined the rainfall power which detaches soil particles and the sheet-flow power contributed to sediment transport in terms of energy expenditure rate of soil erosion and presented the effective power equation for interrill erosion by rainfall-induced sheet flow. The rainfall and sheet-flow power was evaluated by factors related with rainfall, slope, and runoff and coefficients of the power equation were analyzed based on references. Futhermore it was confirmed that the relative scales between the rainfall power and the sheet-flow power according to rainfall intensity reflect on the hydrological response and physical process of interrill erosion. From application of the field data for surface runoff and soil erosion it was verified that the rainfall and sheet-flow power is an appropriate equation to estimate a interrill erosion.

  • In this paper, the development results of electromechanical TVC actuation system is described in the aspect of design, analysis, manufacturing and test. The kinds of prime power for TVC actuation system is classified by the variety of propulsion system of launch vehicle. The electric power by battery is the sole candidate for prime power of TVC actuation system at the view point of feasible domestic infra technologies for the present. The characteristic analysis study is performed between electromechanical and electrohydraulic actuation system with respect to power efficiency, performance and weight efficiency. The electromechanical actuation system has superiority of power and weight efficiency according to less opportunity of power conversion process.

  • Human powered aircraft: the aim is to fly only by human power, features many challenging issues. Contrary to the general aircraft operated by an engine, human powered aircraft, that manoeuvres by lower power, requires additional consideration about weight, material, aerodynamical and structural analysis. Since this aircraft flies at a low speed, low Reynolds number flight will need to be taken into account. In this paper, SNU (Seoul National University) Human Powered Aircraft was designed by comparing it with the existing human power aircrafts, as well as by using theoretical analysis that obtains the design parameters. Also, this paper discuss about the manufacturing process using composite material for real human powered aircraft.

  • The purpose of this study is to implement various movements of multiple objects using a small number of power devices in producing a kinetic design, achieving an effect similar to a work comprised of multiple objects controlled using multiple power devices. While it is more typical to control various objects using multiple power devices, the use of multiple devices leads to higher costs and heavier overall weight. In addition, more power is required to operate the multiple power devices. This study applied a mechanism that allows multiple objects to perform various movements using a small number of power devices. The mechanism significantly reduces overall weight and power consumption. In addition, various movements could be expressed by increasing the rows and columns of objects through the use of the camshaft structure that changed the position and shape of the cam and the use of bevel gears. The significance of this study lies in presenting a new method of controlling multiple objects for designers involved in kinetic design.

  • Auxiliary Power Unit of FA-50 which provides energy other than propulsion is an important element to maintain airworthiness on aircraft. Also Inlet Guide Vane of Auxiliary Power Unit is a device that supplies appropriate airflow into the Auxiliary Power Unit after adjusting influent airflow into the load compressor. This report, based on the problems occurred the driving gears of Inlet Guide Vane, deals with cause of occurrence, troubleshooting, design improvement and result of test flight verification for FA-50 aircraft Auxiliary Power Unit lifespan.

  • 본 논문에서는 비구동 관절을 가지는 2링크 매니퓰레이터의 동력학 해석과 운동제어를 제1적분을 기초로 하여 전개하고 있다. 매니퓰레이터의 운동이 제1적분의 적분상수에 의해서 기술되는 것을 보이고, 제1적분을 이용하여 매니퓰레이터의 동력학을 해석하고 있다. 그리고 해석된 동력학을 적극적으로 이용하는 운동제어 알고리즘을 구성하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하고 있다. 끝으로 비구동 관절에 마찰이 작용하는 경우, 브레이크등의 보조수단을 이용하지 않고도 매니퓰레이터의 제어가 가능함을 보이고 있다.

흠경각루 내부 메커니즘에 대한 고찰

  • 1438년 장영실은 경복궁 흠경각(欽敬閣) 내부에 자동물시계인 옥루(玉漏)를 제작하였다. 흠경각루(欽敬閣漏)는 수격식(水激式, 물의 흐름을 이용하여 수차를 운행하는 동력방식)으로 운영되는 것으로 중국의 수운의상대(水運儀象臺, 1092년경 제작)의 수격방식과 유사하다. 하지만 동력 방식을 제외한 내부 구조에 대한 것은 흠경각루의 외형모습인 가산 형태, 시보인형의 구성과 배치, 작동구조 등에 의해 결정된다. 장영실은 흠경각루의 내부 기어장치의 구성과 연결 등에 대해서 새로운 제작기술을 사용하였다. 우리는 수격식 동력 방식에서 내부 공간에 따른 각각 운행 장치들의 구성과 동력전달체계에 대하여 분석하였다. 또한 수차가 일정한 회전력을 갖도록 제어하는 천형(天衡) 장치에 대하여 고찰하였다.

  • 엔진 배기가스의 동력과 유량이 배기행정의 직전 단계에서 관찰되었다. 배기가스 양을 적당히 조정함으로써 터보 과급의 입구 압력을 증가시킬 수 있었으며 엔진의 흡기, 소기 및 배기과정에서 가스질량과 엔진의 동력, 그리고 터보과급 효과도 감소하였다. 터보 과급장치를 기하학적으로 적절화시킴으로써 싸이클의 동기화 및 동력의 효율이 고려된 열교환 과정의 효율 기준도 제기되었으며 디젤엔진의 연소싸이클을 재수정하는 과정과 터빈의 동역학적 특성도 제시되었다.

Development of Rotary Cover for Energy Saving used in a Farming Tractor (소요동력 절감을 위한 트랙터용 로타리 커버의 개발)

  • This study aims at investigating the realities of tractor rotary tilling and paving operations performed by farm families in the central part of the country, measuring the power requirement so as to find the energy-saving factors for tractor rotary tilling, and designing a device to prevent soil adherence to the inside of the rotary cover-this part is the most subject to soil adherence and affects the power requirement. As a result of rotary tilling tests using rotaries equipped with a soil adherence preventer, the power requirement values were measured to be 52.18, 52.44, 49.01 and 46.34 PS for general, stainless steel, rubber and PE rotaries, and as a results of measurement of the quantities of the soil adhered to rotaries after their tilling tests, on the average, the quantities were measured to be 5.6, 5.7, 3.1 and 2.7kg for general, stainless steel, rubber and PE rotaries, respectively. The PE rotary cover reduced the power requirement and soil adherence by 11 and 52%, respectively.
