  • This paper is to analyze the relative weight and the priority order of the selection factors for IPTV. To obtain the goal this paper, firstly, the selecting factors for IPTV were identified and conceptualized on reviewing previous literatures. And this paper proposed the hierarchy model using the factor analysis on IPTV users. and utilized AHP in analysis method. Secondly, AHP model constructed 4 higher factors, and 15 lower factors. The higher factors were 'Quality Acceptance', 'Social Effect', 'Using Motive' and 'Individual Psychology'. Results of this study show that relative weights among factors IPTV selection were founded as 'Quality Acceptance(33.0%)', 'Utilization Motive(31.8%)', 'Individual Psychology(21.3%)' and 'Social Influence(13.9%)'.

In addition, we analyzed the moderating effect of the number of companion animals raised. The factor analysis of survey data yields the following five dimensions: convenience, economic, hedonistic, product characteristics, and information-knowledge shopping motivation. Multiple regression analysis shows that both convenience shopping motivation and information-knowledge shopping motivation have significant positive (+) effects on customer satisfaction. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, it was found that there is a moderating effect of the number of companion animals raised on the relationship between information-knowledge and customer satisfaction.

  • It is possible to design a strategy for expanding the applications of GIS by identifying why social science researchers use GIS. This study analyses motivating factors for the researchers to utilize GIS and their satisfying factors towards the result. It is based on survey results which was answered by social science researchers at national research institutes and local governmental research institutes in South Korea in the perspective of merits of applying GIS, level of GIS usability and experienced effectiveness of applying GIS. Analysis result reveals that motivating factors to researchers applying GIS are correlated with efficiency in their research and satisfying factors are correlated to the usability. Then, we induced a fact that motivative factors for applying GIS is not related to the satisfaction of that. It may be a reason which researchers use GIS less applying in social science fields. As a result, it is necessary to connect the motivating and satisfying factors to further expand GIS applications.

  • Volunteers in public libraries are recognized only as internal manpower, so their sustainability and effectiveness are limited because the motivation for volunteering is hardly considered. This study aims to explore the motivation for volunteering in public libraries and the factors to continuation of the volunteering, and to analyze how these factors affect volunteer satisfaction and marketing intentions. To this end, the variables in this studies including satisfaction and motivation was defined operationally based on the related research and a pilot study with several in-depth interviews. A questionnaire survey was executed with the defined variables and the survey data were analyzed statistically. The results showed that the factors of emotional and psychological motivation influenced the satisfaction and marketing intention rather than the managerial factors such as remuneration. The results indicate the need for a change in volunteer management to a relationship-oriented management method. This study is meaningful in that it expands the value of volunteers in public libraries from as managerial to as marketing resources for public libraries.

  • This study is to investigate, from the perspective of implicit theory, what elements influence children's motivation to learn and how their configurations are different according to different sexes. One analysis was based on answers to a motivation questionnaire by fourth to sixth graders from four different cities in South Korea. The subjects children were most highly motivated to learn were math and science for boys, and math and English for girls, respectively. Factors influencing the motivation were near 30 in number, including later happier life, joy of learning, parental rewards, pleasure of being informed, and meeting parental expectations, among others. Another analysis was an exploratory and confirmative factor analysis on motivation to learn among 856 fourth to sixth graders randomly sampled from 7 different cities all over South Korea. Factors revealed to contribute to the motivated learning here were five factors of utility, interest, recognition, knowledge acquisition(being informed), and expectancy sufficiency. There were some differences in the structure of factors between sexes; importance was given to five factors of utility, interest, recognition, knowledge acquisition, and expectancy sufficiency in descending order for boys, and six factors of interest, utility, rewards, recognition, expectancy sufficiency, and competition for girls.
