In this paper, we present a Web-based reading system. The existing Web-based reading systems have not provided adequate interactivity among students, teachers and parents so that those systems could not achieve good effects. Our system is designed and implemented to reinforce interactivity using advanced communication technologies. The design principle is based on the constructivism so that we let students learn for themselves. Our system also provide various evaluation processes for enhancing students' understanding.

This study investigated an actual condition of students' reading through the survey from 1,285 students in Jeollabuk-do and analysed the casual relationships which affect students' reading ability. 4 variables selected in this study are students' reading ability, reading environment, reading education and reading experiences. The results are as follow: the level of students' reading experience which means the number of books they read and time they consumed for reading is very low compared to the other variables. The reading level of elementary students is revealed higher than that of middle and high school students. The relationships among variables found out through the analysis are that reading education is influenced by reading environment, reading experience is affected by reading education and eventually reading ability is mainly affected by students' reading experience. Through these findings, this study proposed that expansion of students' reading experience and systematization of reading education are needed to strengthen their reading ability effectively.

대한출판문화협회(회장 윤형두)와 한국출판연구소(이사장 김종수)는 구랍 8일 제61회 출판포럼을 개최했다. 이번 포럼은 2012년을 '독서의 해'로 선포한데 따라 이에 걸맞는 준비를 하고자 하는 취지로 준비 되었으며 이날 사회를 맡은 한국출판연구소 김종수 이사장은 "범사회적으로 책 읽는 분위기가 뿌리내리도록 하고 독서문화의 외연을 넓히는 소중한 기회로 삼아야 할 것"이며 "지난 1993년 '책의 해'를 통해 처음으로 출판포럼이 시작한 이래 횟수로는 61회째를 맞이한 만큼 출판계가 다시 한 번 심기일전하여 출판의 텃밭을 일구어 나가야 할 것"이라고 말했다. 이날 행사는 '독서문화 진흥을 위한 출판계의 과제'를 주제로 한윤옥 교수(경기대 문헌정보학과)가 주제발표를 했으며 이어진 토론 시간에는 대한출판문화협회 박익순 사무국장이 '독서의 해와 출판계의 과제', 한국출판인회의 김종길 독서진흥위원장이 '2012 독서의 해에 바란다', 책 읽는 사회 만들기 국민운동 안찬수 사무처장이 '독서의 해 추진과 출판계의 대응을 위한 제언', 문화체육관광부 도서관정책과 하재열 사무관이 '도서관과독서, 창의와 상상력 발전소'를 주제로 각각 발표와 토론을 진행했다. 이날 주제발표를 요약, 정리한다.

Recently a reading education system has been developed to manage the accumulated reading activities and past records of individuals under the web environment using computers. And the reading education system, where we can have comprehensive reading education, has been developed and been applied to schools. The reading records in the reading education system can contribute to the improvement of reading activities and reading comprehension, the extension of thinking ability, and the cultivation of insight and character of the readers. The system will provide basic data for reading education for the teachers. The reading education system will accumulate the reading records of individuals. This system is not restricted by time and space. Also the system can support the reading education of children and students effectively. The menu of the reading education system is composed of a test of reading level, reading materials, activities after reading, reading certification, reading record management and instruction of teachers.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of school library personnel on students' reading behaviors and to identify differences between schools on it. For this purpose, this study surveyed 5,349 elementary, middle and high school students from 154 schools across Korea, and conducted a survey on reading environment, school library, and DLS. The results of the analysis showed that the students at the school where teacher librarians works are more likely to read books, participate in various reading programs, receive more help from teacher librarians in selecting books to read, lending more books, have more experience with DLS and satisfaction with it. The differences between the schools were in the order of 'classes which school library personnel took part in,' 'number of borrowed books,' 'help in selecting books,' 'average reading time per day,' 'number of home books,' 'reading in school library.' Therefore, it is necessary to expand the placement of school library personnel and develop their professionalism in order to prevent inequality in the educational environment between schools.

I studied on the application of creativity to reading instruction in this paper. Reading strategies and creative thinking skills are categorized. And these are incorporated in the time process of reading instruction. In pre-reading process, Using Prior Knowledge and Reasoning of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Fluency and Creativity of the divergent thinking skill. In reading process, Increasing Sensitivity to Text Elements with the Highest Information Load and Structuring and Recognizing Structures of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Flexibility and Creativity of the divergent thinking skill. In post-reading process, Reasoning of reading strategies are used and these are incorporated in Creativity of the divergent thinking skill and convergent thinking skill.

The purpose of this study is to develop a curriculum for the Training of Specialized Librarians who have both practical and theoretical knowledge in order to enhance the professionalism of reading instruction required by librarians. For this purpose, We developed a training librarian course for reading instruction through a data collecting method such as literature study, FGI, and Delphi analysis. As a result, the curriculum for reading instruction librarians was organized with 17 modules totaling 267 hours. Level courses are in the order of Basic-Deepening-Advanced. The 8 basic courses are all in cyber education format, and the total of 74 hours is completed. The 5 deepening courses consist of three sets of courses and two courses 100 hours, and the 4 advanced courses are all in the form of integrated education, taking 93 hours in total.

독서 교육은 종래의 종이책 위주의 독서에서 종이책과 인터넷의 멀티미디어를 병행한 방향으로 나아가고 있으며 재량활동 시간에 독서관련 활동을 선택하는 학급이 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 또한, 각 분야에서 이와 관련된 웹을 활용한 독서지도프로그램이 많이 연구되고, 제안되고 있다. 위인전이나 동화, 영어이야기 등의 분야는 웹을 활용한 여러가지 활동들이 제공되고 있지만 초등학생을 위한 동시를 즐길 수 있는 내용들은 많이 부족한 실정이다. 종래의 동시지도는 주로 교사와 텍스트 중심으로 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 학습자 중심의 수업활동을 통해 학습자 스스로 사고하고 연상함으로써 동시를 학습(국어과 교육과정을 분석하여 재량활동에 사용)할 수 있도록 웹을 기반으로 하는 동시학습 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

The purposes of this study are to analyze the effectiveness of public library reading programs for children in qualitative way and to apply the outcomes to identify areas to measure the success of library reading programs. Interviews were conducted with children who participated in '2013 Reading Books with Libraries' program and adults who were in charge of managing the program. Observations on the program were also conducted. The findings indicate that children who participated in '2013 Reading Books with Libraries' program positively changed in various aspects. Selected areas to measure the success of library reading programs include: reading behavior; attitude to books; awareness of libraries and librarians; participation of library reading programs; the ability to read aloud; the ability to comprehend stories by listening; aggression; the ability to express one's own feelings; speech ability; concentration power; and undiscovered potential. The elements that affect the success or failure of library reading programs include: librarian's enthusiasm on running the reading program; environmental condition of the community child care center; age differences between child participants; running style of the instructor's program; selection of books; child participants' reading abilities and interests in reading; available time for free voluntary reading.
