A Survey Study on the Current Situation of Collection Operations of Independent Publications in Public Libraries: Focusing on Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province (공공도서관의 독립출판물 장서운영 현황 조사 연구 - 서울·인천·경기 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • In accordance with the recent expansion of collection operation of independent publications through public libraries, this study conducted a status analysis on independent publications collection in public libraries and in-depth interviews with staff in charge of independent publications in order to suggest ways to effectively manage independent publications. As a result, it was deduced that the measures needed for effective management of independent publications are construction of joint cataloging system for building and sharing independent publications catalog in public libraries; platform for collecting various information of independent publications; support for ISBN, ISSN, CIP issuance of independent publications; and improvement of distribution system.

The Influence on College Life Adjustment of Separation Individuation and Family Cohesion (분리 개별화와 가족 응집력이 대학 생활 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들의 부모로부터의 심리적 분리개별화와 가족응집력이 그들의 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향을 조사하여, 대학생활 적응에 영향을 주는것이 부모로부터의 독립인지 가족의 친밀감과 지지인지 알아보고, 두 요인이 모두 영향을 준다면 각각 대학생활의 어떤 영역에 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 하였다. 중다회귀분석을 사용하여, 다음과 같은 연구결과 를 얻었다. 첫째, 부모로부터의 심리적 독립에서 갈등적 독립이 높을수록, 태도적 독립이 낮을수록 학업문제의 적응은 높았다. 갈등적 독립이 높을수록 심리적 문제와 진로, 취업문제의 적응은 낮았다. 태도적 독립과 기능적 독립이 높을수록 교수와의 관계에 있어서 적응은 낮게 나타났다. 기능적 독립이 발달한 학생은 교우와의 관계에서 높은 적응을 나타났다. 정서적 독립이 높은 학생은 전반적인 적응이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 가족응집력은 대학생활에서 진로, 취업문제와 교유관계에 있어서 적응을 설명하고 있다. 그러나 남학생에게 가족응집력은 심리적 문제의 적응에 부적인 영향을 나타내며, 여학생에게는 가족응집력이 높을수록 교우관계와 진로, 취업문제의 적응이 높게 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this essay is to check what are the problems of the current Korean independent films and to find the solutions for effective circulation of the Korean independent films in terms of its intimacy to public. For this, I would like to define 'independent film' and 'its ambiguous distinction', and then I presented the current issues of the Korean independent films and suggested the alternatives of the effective circulation of its production and distribution. Independent films can be defined through our understanding and identification, and it is significant of mutual communication with the audience, so that I will classify the cases of box office of the independent films. The effectiveness of production can be suggested by lower budget and many financial supports, and the effectiveness of distribution is to have many occasions to release, to benefit with them and to release in many festivals. The effort of independent filmmakers, mutual communication between filmmakers and the audience, and the official supporting system will make it possible for effective production and distribution. With this possibility, the future of Korean independent film will be bright.

Failure of the Transition to Adulthood among Homeless Young Men and their Family Experience (남성 노숙 청년의 성인기 독립 이행 실패와 원가족 경험)

  • In the harsh period for young adults to prepare their successful life, this study aimed to understand the specific experiences of independence transition among homeless young adults. Also this article explored how their family perform as a supportive system for their independence. Using in depth interview materials of 19~39 aged 8 young homeless males, the research analyzed their family's weak support; no family members, no economic support and breaking relationship. As to occasion of independence, the participants sometimes experienced loss of house, evacuation by their family or runaway from their home. It was abrupt and unexpected leaving home. Also their process of independence was beyond their capacity that they suffered from instability job and destitute rather than continuous mental trauma and isolation. In the end they faced serious risky situations that they cannot manage without any help. The findings of this study suggest that quality of family relationship would be more important than economic capital from family and transition to adulthood of vulnerable young adults who don't have family support need much alternative supportive system and social capital.

A Development and Application of Independent Study Checklist for Mathematics Gifted Students (초등수학 영재학생을 위한 독립연구 점검표 개발 및 적용)

  • In this study, an 'Independent Study Checklist' for gifted mathematics students was developed and applied. The characteristics shown in the results after the 'Independent Study Checklist' was applied to mathematics gifted students were analysed. The checklist was divided into six phases of the independent study process and included checking contents at each stage. Observations, student interviews and results of the process of 'Independent Study' were collected and analysed to understand the characteristics of students' outcomes. The results from the application of the 'Independent Study Checklist' suggest the followings. First, the 'Independent Study Checklist' took the role of a self-check list to identify the process of the 'Independent Study'. Second, the check points of the 'Independent Study Checklist' presented the view of discussion to gifted students. Third, the 'Independent Study Checklist' was used as teaching material for teachers of gifted students. Fourth, 'Independent Study Checklist' was optionally used according student's study topics and method. Fifth, the checklist at each phase was continuously used during the whole process of 'Independent Study'. The teachers' interest and encouragement took the role of facilitating students' study process.

  • This paper reviews the practical operations and exceptions to the independent principle by analyzing the leading cases of English documentary credit transactions. A bank's undertaking in L/C transactions differentiates between underlying contract and other contracts. The autonomy principle is the key principle governing L/C, but this principle may be connected with unfair (unjust) payment. English Law is strongly influenced by the developments in American Law in the case of fraud, but traditionally, British courts has been very reluctant to interfere in banks' independent undertaking under the L/C. The position of British case law relating to fraud is based on Sztejn. In practice, British courts recognize fraud as an exception to the autonomy principle in which the case is sufficiently serious to render it unjust to permit the beneficiary to receive payment. British case law has historically taken a narrow approach toward intervention in the independent principle of documentary credit. Therefore, innocent parties including beneficiaries are protected by these regulations regarding fraud.

Robust group independent component analysis (로버스트 그룹 독립성분분석)

  • Independent Component Analysis is a popular statistical method to separate independent signals from the mixed data, and Group Independent Component Analysis is an its multi-subject extension of Independent Component Analysis. It has been applied Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging data and provides promising results. However, classical Group Independent Component Analysis works poorly when outliers exist on data which is frequently occurred in Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanning. In this study, we propose a robust version of the Group Independent Component Analysis based on ROBPCA. Through the numerical studies, we compare proposed method to the conventional method, and verify the robustness of the proposed method.

A Comparative study between annual maximum series and annual independent rainfall series (연최대치 계열과 연최대치 독립 호우사상 계열의 비교 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 연최대치 독립 호우사상 계열과 연최대치 계열의 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 몇 가지 경우의 IETD 및 절단값을 적용하여 독립 호우사상을 결정하고, 그 특성을 살펴보았다. 이어 연최대치 계열과 연 최대치 독립 호우사상 계열을 비교하였다. 본 연구는 1961년부터 2010년까지 서울지점의 시강우 자료를 분석대상으로 사용하였다. 그 결과, IETD의 증가에 따라서 독립 호우사상의 발생빈도 및 평균 강우강도는 감소하고, 평균 지속기간은 증가하였다. 절단값의 증가에 따라 독립 호우사상의 발생빈도 및 평균 지속기간은 감소하고, 평균 강우강도는 증가하였다. 호우사상의 평균 강우강도는 강우 지속기간에 관계없이 거의 일정한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 지속기간이 짧은 호우사상의 최대 강우강도는 지속기간이 긴 호우사상의 최대 강우강도보다 매우 작을 것으로 파악되었다. 지속 기간이 짧은 경우, 연 최대치 계열과 연 최대치 독립 호우사상 계열의 차이는 매우 크며, 강우 지속기간이 길게 적용한 경우에는, 두 계열의 차이는 매우 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In most curricular model for gifted children, independent study is included as an important element for developing students' study ability and producing creative production Gifted children also prefers this style of learning and they study more easily and with more fun when they learn in the learning style they prefer. This study aims to find out how gifted children in math area performs independent study and how teachers who teach them recognize independent study; survey study was used to analyze the reality of the production in relation to independent study. In result, gifted children's independent study ability was rather very low and teachers recognized the necessity of independent study but lacked understanding of the method of independent study.
