A Multicarrier CDMA System for Multipath and Doppler Diversity (다중경로 및 도플러 다이버시티를 위한 멀티캐리어 CDMA 시스템)

  • One of the principal disadvantages of multicarrier modulation technique is the sensitivity to the frequency offset introduced by Doppler shift. This frequency offset introduces inter-carrier interference (ICI) among the multiplicity of carriers in the multicarrier modulated signal. However, Doppler spread induced by temporal channel variations can Provide another means for diversity. In this paper, we propose a modified multicarrier code division multiple access (CDMA) system to exploit Doppler diversity as well as multipath diversity. The key work of our framework is a canonical time-frequency-based decomposition of the mobile wireless channel into series of independent fading channel. The decomposition naturally leads to a time-frequency generalization of the Rake receiver that exploits both multipath and Doppler diversity.

  • Basically, an ultrasonic imaging system has two fundamental imaging modes available. One is the B-mode imaging modality which provides an image of reflection coefficient, and the other is the Doppler color flow mode that maps blood flow inside the human heart and blood vessels. This paper presents a new method of detecting and compensating for aliasing that occurs when the Doppler frequency exceeds one-half of the pulse-repetition frequency (PRF). Its validity is shown by computer simulation. The new method not only extends the measurable Doppler frequency, but also helps to reduce the effect of noise. The results show that the aliasing can be compensated for correctly fur signal-to-noise ratios down to 20 dB.

Remote Sound Extraction Using Laser Doppler Interferometer (레이저 도플러 간섭계를 이용한 원거리 소리 추출)

  • We propose and experimentally demonstrate a method of remote sound extraction using laser Doppler interferometry. The output frequency of a laser Doppler interferometer changes to be the same as the frequency of the acoustic wave from than object vibrated by the sound due to the Doppler effect. Based on this phenomenon, we measure the vibrational frequency of a remote target affected by a sound wave in real time, via laser Doppler interferometry. We track the peak frequency of the interferometer's output via appropriate signal processing, which confirms that the characteristics of the so detected wave are the same as that of the original sound source. We also confirm that the same method can retrieve the sound waves not only from remote sources of single tones, but from those of any sound.

  • This paper presents a real-time respiration and heartbeat detector comprised of a 1.6 GHz single-channel Doppler sensor and analog/digital signal processing block for remote vital sign detection. The RF front end of the Doppler sensor consists of an oscillator, mixer, low noise amplifier, branch-line hybrid and patch antenna. We apply artificial transmission lines(ATLs) to the branch-line hybrid, which leads to a size reduction of 40 % in the hybrid, while its performance is very comparable to that of a conventional hybrid. The analog signal conditioning block is implemented using second order Sallen-Key active filters and the digital signal processing block is realized with a LabVIEW program on a computer. The respiration and heartbeat detection is demonstrated at a distance of 50 cm using the developed system.

  • This study designed and manufactured "a DVOR virtual signal generator" to make the monitoring system of preliminary Doppler VHF Omni-directional Radio Range(DVOR) run like its real operation status in a narrow space in order to study "a DVOR virtual monitoring system". The designed and manufactured DVOR virtual signal generator is suitable for the specification of signal that is generated in the currently running equipment. In addition, it is possible to control operation conditions of equipment by using parameter variables, and the circuit construction is largely divided into the input part, the modulation part, the high-gain amplifier, and the power part. "The DVOR virtual monitoring system using the virtual signal designed and implemented in this study is very suitable to be used for low-cost actual education as it can construct the operation status like the real situation in a narrow space without using an actual system like an antenna generating side band.

  • In this paper, the LEO system signal degradation is mainly due to fading and doppler shift, so that the analysis of the signal degradation and compensation techniques are very important. This paper propose a Kalman filter based two step Automatic Frequency Control(AFC) to combat large and time variant frequency offset in low earth orbit satellite communication systems. The proposed Kalman AFC method estimates a frequency offset in two steps, I. e., coarse and fine estimations, extending the frequency acquisition range to even for than the symbol rate. Furthermore, it can track well a time variation of frequency offset. It is shown that the proposed compensator is able to compensate for doppler shift more than several KHz.

  • 본 논문에서는 한 쌍의 수동소나를 이용하여 미지의 잠항물체의 존재 유무를 확인하고 각 센서에 도달하는 시간지연의 차를 평가하는 Detection과 Tracking 알고리즘을 연구한다. 이 과정에서 이동하는 표적의 속력에 의한 도플러효과를 보상하는 2차원 확률분포 함수를 적용함으로 보다 정확한 결과를 도출한다. 관측신호의 Cross-Correlation과 Bayesian Method를 이용하여 계산한 시간지연과 도플러효과 비의 이차원 Likelihood 함수로부터 사후확률 (Posterior Probability)을 구하여 발견 평가와 추적을 수행한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 이동위성통신 DS/CDMA 시스템의 상향링크 채널에 대한 이중모드 통신방식을 제안하고, 제안 시스템의 성능을 해석하고 제안 시스템의 유용성도 확인하였다. 또한 이동위성통신 DS/CDMA 시스템에 큰 도플러 옵셋의 해결방안으로 Kajiwara가 제안한 이중채널 방식을 이용하여 이동위성채널에 널리 쓰이는 라이시안 페이딩 모델을 설정하였으며 변조 방식으로는 DCPSK 신호를 이동체의 속도와 전송률 에러의 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

Characteristic Analysis on Feedback Interference Channels in Rural Regions and Sides of Highways (시외 지역과 고속도로변에서 궤환 간섭 채널의 특성 분석)

  • The feedback interference channels are those made through the multipaths that are built by moving and stationary objects around transmit and receive antennas mounted at the same point. This paper describes the method to measure the feedback interference channels in the rural regions and sides of highways and the analysis on channel characteristic parameters. Using the measured samples, we estimated scattering functions, delay power spectra, and Doppler power spectra, and we analyzed the channels using eight parameters including coherence bandwidth, coherence time, maximum excess delay, average excess delay, rms delay spread, Doppler shift, Doppler spread, and spread factor, and delay and Doppler cumulative distributions. Even though many observations are made, note that the feedback signals of high Doppler frequencies and large energy are observed in the sides of highways due to high speed vehicles while low Doppler frequencies occurred in the rural region due to rare traffic.

  • This paper describes the measurement of tissue blood flow by the the self-mixing effect of laser diode. A Laser doppler signals due to the moving object and the tissue blood flow were detected by the self-mixing effect of laser diode. The Doppler shifted frequency was changed linearly with the driving frequency of moving object and was increase after the exercise. The results of in-vivo experiment were consistent with the result of exercise physiology.
