When we assume the transition to a knowledge management society, what factors should be differentially added to the characteristics of CEOs of small enterprises to enhance management performance? This can be done by measuring the core competence of the CEO who is an importance asset of the small firms. This study focuses on the following four inquiries to clarify the relationship among the core competence of the CEO, the knowledge management and the performance of the firms. First, we test the influence of the core competence of CEO on business performance. Second, we explore the effects of CEO characteristics on the knowledge management and the performance of the firm. Third, we test whether knowledge management has a mediating effect in the relationship between the characteristics of CEO which is a parameter, and the business performance of the firm which is a dependent variable. Fourth, for the sake of a deeper understanding of the CEO of the small firms, we conduct t-test or multiple comparison to find out the statistically significant differences among means of the main variables such as demographic characteristics, work experience, and entrepreneurship. The academic contribution of this study is to verify the characteristics of the CEO, which influence the business performance:the global competence, challenge spirit, interpersonal flexibility and stress tolerance, in connection with the knowledge management of small firms. The practical contribution of this study is to test whether CEOs can demonstrate successful business performance through knowledge management rather than measuring business performance after a certain period of time through profit and loss statements in this era of uncertainty.

This paper suggested a plan to increase the start-up survival rate by identifying independent variables that significantly affect start-up success through analysis of the founder's internal and external factors. As a result of this study, it was found that internal factors (financial ability, risk sensitivity) and external factors (start-up environment, start-up support policy) had a direct positive (+) effect on start-up success. Meanwhile, self-efficacy for business models partially mediated the relationship between factors(financing ability, risk sensitivity, start-up environment and start-up support policies) and start-up success. Self-efficacy for business models fully mediated the relationship between factors(start-up expertise and challenge spirit) and start-up success. Finally, trust in business models partially mediated the relationship between factors(start-up expertise, risk sensitivity, and start-up support policies) and start-up success. And the trust in business models fully mediated the factors(the spirit of challenge, start-up environment) and start-up success.

The culture industry has been considered very important as firms utilize human creativity as the main source for providing high-value-added services. In this industry, the inspirations and ideas of individual creators have been stressed rather than the roles of entrepreneurs so far. However, in recent years, due to the influence of "Hallyu" or the Korean Wave, entrepreneurial firms have actively participated in producing a variety of products embracing cultural value. In this vein, the entrepreneurship-related elements such as the degree of leaders' innovativeness, risk-taking environment, first mover advantage, employee compensation, and tolerance to failure were selected to investigate their effects on market leadership. As a result, it was observed that risk-taking environment, first mover advantage, employee compensation, and tolerance to failure had a positive effect whereas leaders' innovativeness was not statistically meaningful. These findings show that the creation of an atmosphere where employees' creativity can be fully appreciated is more important than the leader' insight-driven innovativeness. The results of this study indicate that when companies formulate strategies and the government initiate policies in the culture industry, entrepreneurship should be incorporated as a crucial element.

계속 높아지는 기업가정신과 창업의도에도 불구하고 2017년 OECD 보고서에 따르면 한국은 실패에 대한 두려움이 높은 국가로 전체 7위롤 기록했다. 실패 후 신용 불량으로 인한 재기 불가능에 대한 인식이 여전히 팽배해 창업을 저해하는 요인으로 아직까지 큰 비중을 차지하고 있다. 그러므로 실패에 대해 관용적인 문화와 실패를 통한 학습 독려, 실패 기업인의 재도전 지원 활성화 정책은 한국을 진정한 창업국가로 변모하게 할 것이다. 그러나 무엇보다 실패를 경험한 창업가 본인 자신이 새롭게 재기에 임하는 마음가짐이 중요하므로 본 연구의 목적 역시 재창업자가 다시 창업에 어떤 자세로 임해야 하는지 찾고자 하는데 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 재기에 성공한 4명의 사업가와 재도전을 했으나 여전히 성과를 못 내고 있는 5명의 사업가를 인터뷰하여 재도전의 성공 요인을 탐색하고자 한다. 연구 결과, 재기 창업가가 재도전 성공을 위해 가져야 할 자세와 역량을 1) 지식(knowledge), 2) 인지(cognition), 3) 감정(emotion) 이상 3가지 관점에서 기존의 연구가 다루지 못한 접근법을 제안한다. 먼저, 지식 관점에서 보면 기존 사업과의 동질성 여부가 중요한 것이 아니라, 새롭게 진출하는 영역에 대한 준비성이 재도전의 성공 여부에 영향을 미쳤다. 다음으로, 인지적 관점에서는 과거 실패의 원인에 대한 분석과 자기 실책으로의 귀인은 차이를 보이지 않았고 오히려 앞으로 영위할 사업에 대한 여러 사람들의 지적과 충고에 대한 수용 역량(coachability)이 성공과 실패를 나눴다. 마지막으로 감정 관점에서 선행연구는 실패로부터 슬픔을 빨리 극복하는 사람이 학습과정도 빨리 이뤄지는 것으로 여겨졌으나, 슬픔의 극복은 재기 후 성과와는 관련이 없었으며, 본 연구에서는 재기 전 생계유지가 가능한 상태 여부가 성공의 선행조건이 될 수 있음을 발견하였다.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the effect of both educational satisfaction and relational support on the self-efficacy of secondary school students and then eventually on their entrepreneurship. Testing self-efficacy as a mediator is another aim of this study. The findings indicated that both educational satisfaction and relational support have positive relationships with the self-efficacy of students. Self-efficacy also had a positive impact on entrepreneurship. The core part of this study focuses on the role of both educational satisfaction and relational support in fostering the self-efficacy and entrepreneurship of secondary school students. These results can serve as practical guidance when making decisions regarding the adequate pedagogy for secondary school students in order to promote entrepreneurship among the adolescents.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is well known to have a limited response to drug treatment. Many recently published clinical care guidelines recommend trauma-focused psychotherapies such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE) as first-line treatment and medication such as serotonin reuptake inhibitors and venlafaxine as second-line treatment. Current review introduces the session composition and contents of CPT and presents various CPT studies that show therapeutic effect for civilian and veterans/military with PTSD. In order for clinicians to help effectively patients with PTSD, it is necessary to learn and actively use evidence-based trauma-focused psychotherapies including CPT and PE.

It is critical for adolescents to foster self-efficacy, creativity, and adventurous spirit as well as plans for appropriate career path in order to become good members of society. During this adolescent period, newspapers will be a good learning material as they deliver various and timely information in refined language. In this paper, we analyzed the impact of NIE on development of self-efficacy, awareness of career path, and entrepreneurship through comparing adolescents who regularly read newspapers with those who do not. We came up with the following result after analysis of surveys (with a sample size of 283) that targeted middle school and higher grade elementary school students across Korea. We confirmed that reading newspapers has a positive impact on development of self-efficacy, awareness of career path, and entrepreneurship. More specifically, reading newspapers regularly has a positive impact on development of self-efficacy that subsequently has a positive impact on development of awareness of career path and entrepreneurship. Therefore, we found that simply reading newspapers regularly has a positive impact on development of self-efficacy, awareness of career path, and entrepreneurship with no special programs utilizing the newspapers. This is because various information and opinions in newspapers help adolescents to develop their own views, improve understanding and awareness of career, and development of sociality including creativity and adventurous spirit. There is the meaning as the first research that this research checks what the NIE of the adolescents affects the positive impact to not only the self-efficacy and career awareness but also entrepreneurship.

세계경제 포럼(World Economic Forum)에서 발표한 '교육의 새로운 비전(New Vision for Education)'은 '인재야말로 21세기 혁신, 경쟁력, 성장을 이끄는 핵심 요소'라고 하였다. 이처럼 인재의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있는 상황에서 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 맞는 R&D 인력 육성을 위해 기업가역량을 중심으로 위험을 감수하고 포착된 새로운 기회를 실현하는 도전정신을 가진 기업가 육성을 위한 방안을 고민해 보고자한다. 다시 말해 4차 산업혁명 시대는 지금까지의 문제 해결중심의 창업, 교육과정과는 다른 문제를 정확히 인식하고 미래변화에 인내를 가지고 유연하게 대처하는 능력의 인재 육성이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 신입 R&D 인력 대상으로 현재 기업가역량을 평가하고 부족한 역량에 대해서는 보다 개선/강화할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다.

The purpose of this study was to find out the factors related to creative achievement of engineering students. 14 participants were interviewed. After finishing all interview, the data were analysed using a thematic approach. As a result, 8 principal themes emerged from the data.
