선박용 중방식 수용성 도료의 sagging 결함 원인에 관한 연구 (A study on sagging failures of water-borne corrosion-protective marine coatings)

  • 환경보호 정책에 대응하고 보건 및 안전의 수준 향상을 위한 수용성 도료의 적용 시, 일부 도장 공정에서 도막 건조의 지연으로 sagging 현상이 발생하였다. 이러한 sagging 현상이 일어난 원인을 실험을 통해 분석한 결과, 도료가 갖는 고유의 yield stress와 더불어 습도 및 통기 상태 등의 시공 환경이 지배적인 영향을 미친다고 파악되었다. Sagging 현상의 재발을 방지하기 위해서는 높은 sagging 저항성을 갖는 도료의 선정뿐만 아니라 도장 공장의 적절한 온/습도 및 환기 제어가 선행되어야 한다.

해외 원자력발전소 방호도장 유지관리 현황 고찰 (Study on Protective Coating Management Status in Overseas Nuclear Power Plant)

  • Protective coatings at nuclear power plants should be designed to withstand exposure to ambient conditions during normal operation or design-basis accidents. However, there was a change in the perception of the protective coating to the revision of the Regulatory Guidelines by the NRC in July 2000. In other words, maintenance guidelines have been strengthened in order to minimize the clogging of the cooling water system due to the substances in the containment building. Therefore, KHNP, the contractor and operator of the nuclear power plant, plans to develop the coating system for nuclear power plants in accordance with the regulation, and plans to develop its own coating expert.

높은 도착효율을 가지는 회전형 정전 도장기기의 개발 (Development of the Rotary Electrostatic Painting Equipment with High Transfer Efficiency)

  • A new electrostatic rotary atomizing painting equipment using air turbine was developed for high transfer efficiency. Based on the overall design requirements of painting equipment, basic design specifications of the equipment parts such as air turbine and atomizing disk ate defined from the present conceptual design model. Air turbine is designed with the section profile of NACA airfoil, and its internal flow field is analyzed by commercial CFD code. Atomizing disk is designed to achieve the ligament type spray of paint with the use of visualization technique. Various experiments and tests are conducted to investigate the spray and the transfer characteristics of newly-designed painting equipment, and the measurement results are compared with the those of conventional painting equipments. The comparison results show the present painting equipment is superior to the conventional ones in the aspects of transfer efficiency and coating surface characteristics.

  • Developed is a sludge treatment system for introducing the waste water mixture with paint sludge from the water bath of paint booth and for recycling cleaned water to paint booth after sludge separation. Floated sludge is introduced from the water surface in the bath by using floating skimmer, and is conveyed by pump to the centrifugal separator where sludge and cleaned water are separated. From the operation results of the present sludge treatment systems applied in actual paint booths, paint sludge can be separated automatically and effectively from water bath with its water content of $60-70\%$, and sludge-free clean water is returned to paint booth.

  • GMAW and GTAW processes have been used for welding of equipment mounting pads during decades. For improving the mobility and survivability of KWV(Korean Wheeled Vehicle), various types of equipment are required and numbers of pads for welding were increased. In this research, for improving productivity of mounting pads welding process, new technology of stud welding was studied. In this study, mechanical properties of stud weldment were investigated to compare with those of GMAW weldment. Also, research of stud weldment durability was carried out and proved its fatigue strength under the condition of KWV's 32,000 km load profile.

에어리스 스프레이 도장용 노즐 팁 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design of Nozzle Tip for Airless Spray Coating)

  • This study was carried out to design the spray nozzle tip for airless spray coating. Airless spray coating is the process of coating an object with a liquid spray of paint or other fluid. The nozzle tip controls the fluid flow rate and creates back pressure in the system. The nozzle tip also defines the spray pattern by the size and shape of the orifice. The spray pattern of nozzle tip was investigated numerically using ANSYS CFX ver. 14.0. It was observed that performance result of designed nozzle tip was correspond well, compared with that of GARCO nozzle tip.

  • It is very hard to control the quality of coating work in shipbuilding process, because it is highly affected by several parameters such as space between object and nozzle tip, spray velocity, pressure, tip size, etc.. Even so a coating work in shipbuilding is done by workers' experience and skill as yet. It causes not only an excessive use of paints but also a decrease of productivity. In order to solve this problem, we developed a formula that predicts the film thickness and determined the proper coating pattern. Also we had done a series of experiments to verify the results of this study.
