Analysis of Intercepted Discharge Considering the Change of Street Inlet Size (빗물받이 유입구 크기 변화에 따른 차집유량 분석)

  • 최근 도시화에 따른 도로구역의 증가는 도심지의 불투수면적의 확대 및 도로의 수로화를 야기하여 집중호우 발생 시 노면 및 저지대의 침수를 가중시키고 있으며, 이로 인한 인명피해 및 재산 피해는 점차 증가하는 추세이다. 이에 기후변화에 따른 강우량의 변화 및 국지성 집중호우 등을 고려하고 도심지 침수 방지 및 방재성능 강화를 위하여 과거에 간선 10년, 지선 5년에서 간선 30년, 지선 10년으로 관거의 설계빈도가 상향조정 되었다. 도심지의 도로 및 유역 유출량의 배수에 상당한 영향을 미치는 빗물받이 및 빗물받이 유입구는 도심지의 방재성능강화 목적에 맞는 설계가 이루어져야 하나 현재 국내의 빗물받이 설치기준은 하수도시설기준(2009, 환경부)에서 '빗물받이 크기별, 도로 차선별 적정 빗물받이 설치간격' 으로 설계빈도 5년을 반영하여 제시된 설치기준이므로 이에 대한 수정 및 개정이 필요한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 관거시설의 설계빈도 상향을 고려한 도로 빗물받이의 유입량 산정을 위해 빗물받이 유입구 크기별 유입량을 도로의 차선, 종경사, 측구 횡경사 및 설계빈도의 변화를 고려하여 도로에서의 유출량을 산정하였으며, Froude 상사법칙을 이용하여 수리실험모형을 제작하여 실험을 실시하였다. 빗물받이 제원은 현재 대부분의 국도에 설치되는 크기인 $40{\times}50cm$, $40{\times}100cm$$40{\times}150cm$를 축소 제작하였다. 측구의 유량은 도로의 차선(2~4차선), 경사(도로 종경사 2~10%, 측구 횡경사 2~10%) 및 설계빈도(최대 30년)을 고려하였다. 실험 결과 측구의 횡경사가 커질수록 빗물받이로 유입되는 유량은 증가하였으며, 빗물받이 유입부의 길이가 증가함에 따라 유입부 측면부를 통한 횡유입량을 증가시켜 빗물받이 유입부의 차집율을 증가시켰다. 또한, 도로의 조건 변화 및 유입량의 변화에 따라서 흐름폭이 감소할수록 차집율이 증가하였다. 수리실험결과를 토대로 도로의 조건변화(차선, 도로 종경사, 측구 횡경사) 및 설계빈도 변화를 고려한 빗물받이의 차집율을 제시하였고 이를 회귀분석 하여 빗물받이 유입구 크기별 유입량 산정식을 도출하였다. 이는 설계빈도 상향에 따른 국내 빗물받이 유입부의 설계 기준 제시에 기초자료로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Comparing the Service Coverages of Subways and Buses and Estimating the Walking Distances of Their Users (지하철과 버스의 서비스권역 비교 및 이용자들의 도보거리 추정 - 부산시를 중심으로 -)

  • The light rail transit (LRT) having bus lines as subsystem is being constructed or planned in the suburban area of metropolitans and medium size cities. However, there is difficulty in establishing the service coverage (SC) of the LRT because the LRT is a completely new transit mode in Korea. The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data and techniques to be used for establishing the SC of the future LRT by understanding the SC characteristics of buses and subways and building models to estimate the walking distances of their users. Busan City is selected as the study city and the SC's of buses and subways are surveyed simultaneously. A total of 9 variables for 82 stations are collected and the cluster analysis is conducted about the variables. The station areas are divided to three types of CBD (Central Business District), sub-CBD and regional center based on the analysis. A station in each area is selected as the study station. At the walking distance (WD) analysis for each mode, the 80 percentile WD of the subway is 672 m and that of the bus is 472 m. In comparing the SC's of both modes by the type of station areas, there are not significant differences between the SC's of sub-CBD and regional center except CBD. At analysis of the relationship between the personal attributes and the WD, for subway users the WD of female is longer than that of male and apartment residents use subway more positively than single house residents do. For the models to estimate the walking distances, the simple regression models were built employing the income as independent variable by dividing the stations into CBD abd non-CBD stations.

A Study of Bicycle Crash Analysis at Urban Signalized Intersections (도시부 신호교차로에서의 자전거사고 분석)

  • The rapid growths of economy and automobiles since the 1970's have caused serious traffic jams and environmental disruption in urban areas. To relieve these problems caused by urbanization, there should be considered alternative means of transportation modes. Many developed countries have accepted bicycles as a so called "Green Mode" for environmentally oriented strategies to increase the qualities of urban lives. Korea have also attempted various means to raise bicycle usages. In this research, significant factors affecting bicycle crashes at signalized intersections in urban areas were studied. The model results showed that Poisson regression is the best fit methodology for data modeling and revealed that traffic volume, a number of driveways, configuration of the ground, presence of bicycle path, school, and bus stop, residential area, size of intersection are significant factors affecting the bicycle crashes.

Development of Urban Flood Warning System Using Regression Analysis (회귀분석에 의한 도시홍수 예보시스템의 개발)

  • A simple web-based flood forecasting system using data from stage and rainfall monitoring stations was developed to solve the difficulty that real-time forecasting model could not get the reliabilities because of assumption of future rainfall duration and intensity. The regression model in this research could forecast future water level of maximum 2 hours after using data from stage and rainfall monitoring stations in Daejeon area. Real time stage and rainfall data were transformed from web-sites of Geum River Flood Control Office & Han River Flood Control Office based MS-Excel 2007. It showed stable forecasts by its maximum standard deviation of 5 cm, means of 1~4 cm and most of improved coefficient of determinations were over 0.95. It showed also more researches about the stationarity of watershed and time-series approach are necessary.

  • In this paper, path losses in millimeter-wave band for different propagation environments are measured, and the results are analyzed by modeling the median, maximum, and minimum values of the measurement data for each site, which are recorded for 5 minutes, with a linear regression model. The measurement data shows that in urban and suburban environments, extra path loss must be taken into account for line-of-sight path, even in millimeter wave band.

Application of Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Tree-Based Machine Learning Techniques for Cutter Life Index(CLI) Prediction (커터수명지수 예측을 위한 다중선형회귀분석과 트리 기반 머신러닝 기법 적용)

  • TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) method is gaining popularity in urban and underwater tunneling projects due to its ability to ensure excavation face stability and minimize environmental impact. Among the prominent models for predicting disc cutter life, the NTNU model uses the Cutter Life Index(CLI) as a key parameter, but the complexity of testing procedures and rarity of equipment make measurement challenging. In this study, CLI was predicted using multiple linear regression analysis and tree-based machine learning techniques, utilizing rock properties. Through literature review, a database including rock uniaxial compressive strength, Brazilian tensile strength, equivalent quartz content, and Cerchar abrasivity index was built, and derived variables were added. The multiple linear regression analysis selected input variables based on statistical significance and multicollinearity, while the machine learning prediction model chose variables based on their importance. Dividing the data into 80% for training and 20% for testing, a comparative analysis of the predictive performance was conducted, and XGBoost was identified as the optimal model. The validity of the multiple linear regression and XGBoost models derived in this study was confirmed by comparing their predictive performance with prior research.

Research on The Modeling of Appropriate Parking Space for Mass Traffic Generating Facilities (대량 교통유발시설의 적정주차 추정모형구축에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to simulate the suitable space of parking lots for Mass traffic instigating facilities in Pusan. After the suitable scale of parking lots estimate using GPSS, one of the Queue Simulation, with the average arriving time and the average parking time at parking lots, the formula is simulated by the Regression model to relate a total floor area and the suitable number of parking lots. The improved criteria or present parking lots is needed to prevent the unnecessary vehicles and improve the efficiency of land use. The suitable scale of parking lots estimate just with the state of using the parking lots in this study. but it is necessary to consider land use, traffic condition, commercial area etc.

  • This study reveals a change in the growth cycle of metropolitan with analyzing the population of Seoul metropolitan area and identifies the characteristics of each urban area. For this, the exponential growth of the city, Roxy index, which in recent years been actively studied in Japan, has applied. As a result, the entire metropolitan area and central areas, and the southern region are about to move to the accelerating centralization phase. In the phase of suburbanization are highly likely to turn into the new phase of regression phase. In addition, the northern and eastern suburbs are currently in progress with the accelerating decentralization phase and are expected to be converted in the decelerating decentralization phase. Through this implication in Seoul metropolitan area, it is necessary to carry out the policy responses about regional maintenance by connecting to the changes in direction and speed of cycle phase of city. The results of this study can be used as basic data to determine the long-term future growth and decline of the metropolitan area.

Relationship between Hydrogeological Characteristics and Subsurface Geology in Central Busan Megacity (부산광역시 도심부 수리지질 특성과 지하지질 발달상태의 관련성)

  • This study intended to evaluate hydrogeological characteristics in relation to subsurface geology data obtained from borehole, groundwater level, borehole flowmeter test, and field hydraulic tests. The regression equation of groundwater level (Y) versus ground elevation (X) is expressed by Y=0.75X-7.00 with quite high correlation coefficient of 0.78. Relationship between groundwater level and thickness of landfill, alluvium, and weathered zone results in higher correlation of groundwater level (Y) versus natural log value of weathered tone (A) than other correlations, with the regression equation Y= exp(9.974A)-14.155. The result of groundwater flow measurement in the boreholes indicates that groundwater flows towards between south and southwest, and this approximately agree with regional distribution of groundwater levels.

The Impact of Urban Heat Island-induced Temperature Differences on the Hatching Rates of Aedes albopictus (도시열섬 현상에 의한 기온차이가 흰줄숲모기(Aedes albopictus) 부화율에 미치는 영향)

  • Aedes albopictus, a common species in the Republic of Korea, is internationally known as a major vector for various diseases, and it is well-adapted to urban environments. Recent insect outbreaks in urban areas, attributed to climate change and urban heat islands, have increased the necessity of researching the effects on mosquito populations. This study analyzed climate data from 25 Automatic Weather System (AWS) stations in Seoul, identifying urban areas with pronounced heat island effects and suburban areas with milder effects. Nine urban heat island conditions were established based on this analysis, under which the hatching rates of Ae. albopictus were examined. The results revealed an increase in hatching rates correlating with the intensity of the urban heat island effect. Regression analysis further indicated that this trend accelerates as the strength of the heat island effect increases. This study suggests that temperature variations resulting from urban heat island phenomena can significantly influence the hatching rates of Ae. albopictus.
