도시의 물리적 성장을 분석하기Hl 원격탐사 자료는 매우 유용한 도구를 제공한다 할 수 있다. 도시의 물리적 성장은 도시의 토지이용과 밀접하게 관련되어 있으며 지속 가능한 도시성장을 위하여서는 토지이용을 중심으로 한 성장관리가 필수적이다. 그러나 위성영상을 이용한 도시 토지이용의 분류는 우선 그 기준이 사용자의 관점에 따라 다르고 영상의 해상도 등에 따라 달리 그 기준이 정해질 수 있다. 도시의 성장 분석을 위해서는 다중시기의 위성영상 및 항공사진을 이용하여 토지이용 분류를 수행하고 시기별 토지이용 변화와 양상을 분석함으로써 성장요인을 추출하고 이를 기반으로 향후의 도시 성장을 예측할 수 있는 성장모델 개발이 가능해 진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도시성장 예측모델 개발의 전 단계로써 도시의 성장관리를 위해 사용되는 다양한 공간 해상도를 지닌 원격탐사 자료의 국내외 다양한 분류기준의 검토를 통해 토지이용 분류 기준을 도시 성장관리의 측면에서 설정하고자 한다.

도시는 산업혁명 이후 급속히 발달하기 시작한 인간의 대표적인 정주공간으로, 산업활동의 집중, 도시로의 인구유입으로 공간적인 범위가 확대되어 가고 있다. 급속한 도시성장은 환경을 악화시키고 있으며, 이에 따른 온실효과, 대기오염의 증가 등은 심각한 도시문제로 떠오르고 있다. 지속 가능한 도시성장을 위해 도시가 어떻게 성장해 왔는가를 분석하고, 향후의 도시성장을 예측하며, 이에 대한 적절한 대안을 모색하는 것은 도시관리를 위해 매우 중요한 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 서울대도시지역을 대상으로 1957년부터 1997년까지의 도시성장에 관한 자료를 구축하고, 셀룰라 오토마타(Cellular Automata) 개념에 기초하고 있는 도시성장모델(UGM)을 이용하여 1998년부터 2050년까지의 서울대도시지역의 도시성장을 예측하였다.

This study is to investigate the relative impacts of urban growth boundaries(UGBs) on metropolitan growth patterns in the United States over a period of time. Through statistical analyses, we evaluate the extent to which UGBs affect the density of residential development in metropolitan areas with UGBs. We also attempt to understand the overall impact of UGBs and the importance of UGBs relative to other determinants of urban growth patterns. Our works found that urban growth patterns differ significantly between cities with UGBs and cities without. UGBs have significant causal effect on urban housing and population densities, but are relatively less important than other factors. This implies that there are factors affecting the variation for which the given data cannot account. Despite the limitations of the data, the findings of this analysis suggest that UGBs have some positive effects on curbing urban sprawl.

본 연구는 현대 도시의 다양한 문제점에 대한 대응방식에 있어서 도시성장관리정책의 측면에서 접근하여 미국의 시애틀 도시를 대상으로 하여 그 성장과정과 도시계획 및 설계의 정책변화과정을 살펴봄으로써 제도적, 계획적 시사점을 찾고자 하였다. 시애틀의 도시성장과정에서 주목할 점은 일찍이 도시의 녹지확보를 위한 계획과 정책, 자금확보를 수행해 왔으며, 도시성장관리 기법에 의거한 도시계획의 수립, 도시전체에 대한 포괄적 계획의 수립, 지속가능한 개발정책의 수립을 들 수 있으며, 이 과정에서 시민의 참여를 적극 유도하고 있다는 점이다.

오늘날 급속하게 팽창하는 도시외형과 더불어 도심의 집약적이고 다양한 토지이용 패턴 속에서 계획적인 도시개발을 유도하기 위해서는 도시변화 추세 및 그 상세 정보를 주기적으로 모니터링 할 수 있는 종합적인 도시성장관리시스템이 요구된다 이에 앞서 본 연구에서는 토지이용변화를 바탕으로 한 도시성장 모니터링에 있어서 다중시기 원격탐사자료의 활용성과 그 적용범위를 명확하게 규명함과 동시에 향후 도시성장관리시스템 개발에 필요한 기초 자료를 효과적으로 생성하기 위하여 3단계로 구분하여 연구를 수행하였다. 우선 다중시기 원격탐사자료를 이용한 도시의 외형적 성장을 파악하고, 기존의 토지이용도 및 영상자료를 이용하여 시기별 토지이용도를 생성하고 이를 바탕으로 도시성장과정을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 또한 적용 결과를 통하여 기존자료의 최 신성을 확보하는 한편 막대한 예산을 투자하여 구축된 기존 토지이용자료를 원격탐사자료와 더불어 도시변화/성장 연구에 있어 보다 효과적으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

도시에서 녹색성장을 위한 노력은 이미 '지속가능한 도시'를 위한 노력의 일환으로 토지이용, 주택, 교통, 환경, 산업, 행정계획 등 다방면에 걸쳐서 여러 곳에서 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 지속가능한 도시는 안정적인 경제성장, 쾌적하고 건강한 환경의 보전, 사회적 약자의 보호와 문화발전을 동시에 달성하는 도시를 의미한다. 지금까지의 도시성장이 경제위주의 양적 성장이었다면 지속가능한 도시성장은 환경문제와 사회문제를 경제문제와 같은 비중으로 다루어나가는 질적인 발전을 의미한다.

Korea is one of the countries most greatly affected by modern urbanization in its speed and its magnitude. Urbanization in Korea however has great differences compare to those in Europe, America and even developing countries. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the specific causes of urbanization in Korea to interpret past trends accurately and to predict future trends properly. To accomplish the purpose cross section data of 806 cities during 1980-1994 has computed in terms of totals and regression analysis has been performed to measure the relative impact of each factor.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the growing course of Busan, Gimhae and Jinhae and further find patterns of the urban growth. This study shows that patterns of the urban growth differ from city to city, being influenced by the city's characteristics. Acknowledging this fact would help the decision maker to determine the developing plan of the urban. The methodology for this study is as follows; Fuzzy set concept is applied to minimize the data loss. At the same time, the AHP is used to give a relative weight to each factor. In order to be able to manage the change based on the dynamic model and time, Cellular Automata is introduced to simulate the growth of urban. The results show that the pattern of Gimhae's and Jinhae's growth is the same, whereas that of Busan is different from them. That is to say, each city has regional characteristics. And the pattern of the urban growth is influenced by the regional conditions of the city.
