A street, as a linear factor constituting the city, is an axis of urban development. The substantial function of the street is the traffic space for the passage but now it plays the important role of the place of community where contains various activities such as meeting between people and people, rest, entertainment etc. A street is basically the 3 dimensional space consisted of the sidewalk, roadway and the roadside structures surrounding the street. In this case, the roadside structures are the physical composition factors for the street space and the facade of the roadside structures acts as important variables to form the image of street space. Thus, this study is to provide the basic data to be applied in the future urban street landscape plan by extracting the superior factors in visual and perceptional aspects which affect the image of street view from the shape composition factors which constitute the facade of the roadside structures, and by searching and analyzing the satisfaction degree and preference of each factors.

Pedestrians and vehicle users ate competing for limited space in urban streets. Therefore, strategical planning and design should be considered to balance the needs placed on urban streets. The study suggested a way to put this concept in to practice by comparing level of service(LOS) of pedestrians and vehicles in the planning and design stage. Also. the study considered the priority among two users basing on the land use characteristics and the functional hierarchy of the streets. In order to overcome the lack or prediction or survey of pedestrian demands in design process, new pedestrian LOS applicable to sidewalk design was suggested based on the comfort linked with the physical limitation. The comparison of the suggested way and the existing way provided at the end of the paper.

Mapping urban areas using the earth observation satellites is useful for monitoring urban expansions and measuring urban developments. In this research, the different thresholds for detecting the urban areas separately from the remote-sensing index images (normalized-difference built-up index(NDBI) and urban index(UI) images) generated from the Landsat-8 image acquired in Daegu, South Korea were evaluated through the following steps: (1) the NDBI and UI images were separately generated from the given Landsat-8 image; (2) the different thresholds (-0.4, -0.2, and 0) for detecting the urban areas separately from the NDBI and UI images were evaluated; and (3) the accuracy of each detected urban area was assessed. The experiment results showed that the threshold -0.2 had the best performance for detecting the urban areas from the NDBI image, while the threshold -0.4 had the best performance for detecting the urban areas from the UI image. Some misclassification errors, however, occurred in the areas where the bare soil areas were classified into urban areas or where the high-rise apartments were classified into other areas. In the future research, a robust methodology for detecting urban areas, including the various types of urban features, with less misclassification errors will be proposed using the satellite images. In addition, research on analyzing the pattern of urban expansion will be carried out using the urban areas detected from the multi-temporal satellite images.

건축물 가스배관이 외벽이 아닌 벽체에 매립됨으로써 건축물 외관의 새 지평을 열게 됐다. 산업통상자원부는 도시가스 사용에 따른 국민생활과 기업 활동에 불편을 주는 애로점을 해소하기 위해 건축물 도시가스배관 매립 등의 내용을 포함한 도시가스사업법 시행규칙을 지난 7월 25일 개정 공포하고 시행에 들어갔다. 이로써 7월 25일 이후 공사 입찰 공고분부터 가스배관의 벽체 매립이 적용된다. 그동안 도시가스배관은 외부에 노출되는 것이 원칙이었으나 이번 도시가스사업법 시행규칙 개정으로 벽에 매립 설치됨으로써 도시가스배관을 이용한 범죄예방효과에 크게 기여할 뿐만 아니라 건축물 미관도 개선될 것으로 보인다. 한편 가스계량기의 설치는 계량검침 및 유지보수가 용이하도록 외부 설치가 유도됨에 따라 사생활 침해와 검침원 사칭 피해를 사전에 예방할 수 있도록 하였고, 가스콘센트를 설치토록 하여 주민불편과 비용부담이 해소될 수 있도록 하였다. 이번 도시가스사업법 시행규칙 개정은 그동안 대한설비건설협회 가스설비공사협의회(위원장 조종택)가 지속적으로 건의하여 받아들여진 것으로, 가스설비공사협의회는 건축물 내 가스배관 설치기준 연구의 정책 기술 자문위원으로 적극 참여한 바 있다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a strategy of creating sustainable city's streets by extracting a elements related the task related with society, economic, and environment. The method of this study is as follows. First step, we extract main task for developing sustainable settlements through studying literature review. Second step, based on the task for sustainable settlements, we generate various elements for developing sustainable street environments. Third step, we carry out a survey targeting experts related to field of urban environment. Fourth step, we analyze their priority about developing elements and the difference between groups. Last step, through correlation analysis between three task and elements for developing sustainable streets, we discuss the specific application around developing elements. The result of this study is as follows. Firstly, from a social point of view, the task related to connecting of historical and cultural characteristic is the most important thing. In a environmental view, it illustrates that application of technologies based on IT is more important than use of sustainable land. In a economic paint of view, it presents that the elements of city security & disasters are important.

서울투자금융 사옥은 앞으로 지어져야 할 사무소 건축의 새로운 방향을 여러 각도에서 시사해 주는 수작이다. 부분적으로는 미완결된 채로 남아 있는 요소가 눈에 띄기는 하나, 그럼에도 불구하고 간결 ㆍ명쾌하게 처리된 조형감각과 신선한 매스 처리는 을지로 입구 금융가의 새로운 랜드마크가 되고 있음은 틀림없는 사실이다.

도시가스안전관리기준통합고시 중 일부가 산업자원부고시 제2002-31호가 지난 3월 9일 개정되었다. 이 고시에는 그 동안 우리 협회 가스시공위원회(위원장 이영일)가 PE관 버트 융착 시공기준에 따른 문제점을 건의한 것이 받아들여져 2002년 3월 1일부터 착공되는 공사부터 PE관은 동일한 호수의 관종류를 사용토록 개정되었다.

자동차는 도시를 자연 전체에 흩어버려 놓는다. 아콜로지 하이퍼 빌딩에서는 인간척도를 중요하게 여긴다. 하이퍼 빌딩에서는 보행로로 움직인다. 하이퍼 빌딩 내에서 거리는 도보와 분으로 측정된다. 하이퍼 빌딩 안에서 자동차는 꼭 필요한 것이 아니다. 아콜로지에서 에너지는 일상적 현대 도시에서보다도 더욱 효율적으로 사용된다. 오염이란 비효율적인 사용이라기보다, 바로 낭비하고 있다는 뜻이다. 효율이 좋아지고 낭비가 줄어드는 것은 오염이 줄어든다는 것을 의미한다.
