This study analyzed the general user behaviors and the perceptions on service quality, satisfaction, loyalty of the users of the special winter vacation programs at the public libraries in Daegu Metropolitan City. Among the 444 collected questionnaires from the participants in the programs at 8 public libraries in the City, a total of 300 were analyzed for the study. As results, many participants have visited the libraries with their family members, and have applied the programs through the helps from their parents. They rated higher the service quality, the satisfaction, and the loyalty than other child users of the children's services as well as the adult participants of the cultural programs and of the public libraries. In the analysis of the structural equation model (SEM) on the service quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty, all of the service quality factors of special winter vacation programs, namely program contents and instructors, staff supports and services, and facilities and equipments, have significant effects on the user satisfaction. Staff supports and services factor of the service quality has significant direct effects on loyalty along with the overall satisfaction, but program contents and instructors factor and facilities and equipments factor have no significant direct effects on loyalty.

The purpose of this study was to provide suggestions for the effective management of e-journals in academic libraries. Existing literatures were reviewed, web sites were examined, and informal interviews with librarians were conducted. This study comprehensively discussed various aspects of e-journal management, including 1) user behavior, 2) selection, acquisition, and evaluation, 3) access and search, 4) user education and its promotion, 5) archiving, 6) open access, 7) collection development policy.

The goal of this study is to analyze use patterns of library collections using circulation statistics of 9 public libraries user's of the Seoul borough "A". For this study, the 2,723,115 circulation-related data of 9 public libraries located in borough "A" which were occurred between June 2006 and June 2014 were collected and used. According to the Korea Decimal Classification (KDC), All circulation records is divided into 10 categories from general (000) to history (900) and 100 divisions from general (000) to biography (990), is analyzed the frequency by category and is analyzed by cluster analysis based on thematic relevance.

This study aims to investigate the current state of digital reference services using electronic bulletin boards in Korean academic libraries and to suggest improvements. Through the examination of 205 academic library websites, 56 libraries were identified to use electronic bulletin for digital references. The digital reference service questions and responses from four libraries were further analyzed: the types of reference question, the structure and accuracy of answers, and digital reference completion time. The implications of this study for future research and practice lie in its provision of a systematic way to design practical guidelines for virtual reference services.

정보환경의 변화에 따라 도서관과 웹 검색엔진의 차별성이 있음에도 불구하고 이용자들은 인터넷의 자원과 학술데이터베이스의 자원을 혼동하고 있다. 특히 구글스칼라가 갖는 검색속도와 조작의 편의성이라는 장점에 따라 데이터베이스의 학술적 가치에도 불구하고 구글스칼라를 가장 많이 이용하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 구글스칼라가 갖는 장점을 반영한 메타서치시스템의 특성과 가치를 조사하였다. 조사 대상은 메타서치시스템이 갖는 인터페이스 측면과 전자정보원 측면에서 비교 분석하였다. 이러한 새로운 검색채널로써 메타서치시스템을 이용하는 기관의 이용통계를 분석하여, 이를 바탕으로 구글스칼라와 같은 웹 검색엔진이 갖는 이용자선호가치를 수용하는 상황에서 이용자 이용행태 패턴과 주제별 전자정보 탐색 행위 등을 조사하였다.

This research is based on open data from the National Library Statistics System and Seoul Survey 2020 from Seoul to analyze the Seoul citizens' usage of public libraries. For such purposes, this research compared and diagnosed the condition of public libraries services at 25 districts of Seoul, focusing on objective indicators of library management and general usage records to understand the correlations between the two. Objective indicators such as budgets, human labor, the number of books, and total ground area were compared with usage records of different classes of Seoul citizens, organized by the citizens' place of living, educational background, and monthly household income. As a result of the research, the correlation between the objective indicators and public usage records of different classes was confirmed. Seoul citizens' usage of public libraries and reading tendency were identified. In addition to, a balanced development of the public libraries in Seoul was proposed to overcome regional disparities and leveling the service level by investigating usage behavior and reading tendency of the public libraries in Seoul.

School Library is both a space and a place. The difference between space and place is the same as in the difference between house and home. Space may be described in terms of physical shape. Place is concept that formulated by personal experience. The social and cognitive developmental stages of elementary, middle and high school students are different, so the placeness or sense of place may be different. The purpose of this study is to figure out the differences in elementary and secondary school student's formative factors of placeness and examine the process that those factors are connected to the results of the user behavioral intentions through the medium of place attachment, place value perception. The data are collected from 590 students and analyzed by SPSS 19 and AMOS 19. The results of this study are as follows. The physical, active behavioral and psychological factors affect on placeness formation of elementary and secondary school students in school libraries. Elementary school students are significantly affected more by physical factors, active behavioral factors than middle and high school students. This study confirmed the process that those factors are connected to the results of the user behavior through the medium of place attachment, place value perception.

The aim of this study is supporting efficient development of library collection and improvement of library service for users by analyzing utilization patterns of library collection using circulation statistics of medical library users. With this purpose, circulation statistics were extracted from 90,420 cases of circulation records in A library for recent 3 years (from 2012 to 2014). Specifically, circulation data categorized according to status and subject, loan data of most popular books and use data of inter-library loan service were collected and analyzed. Subject groups of this study are undergraduate students, graduate students and incumbent hospital employees including faculty members, training members and nondoctor members. For the result, medical library users intensively lent materials of Technology (Applied Sciences), Literature and Social science areas. Especially, the demand of the materials of literature was higher than the demand of the other subject areas compared in the base of collection development.

The purpose of the research is to investigate general citizens' information needs, seeking and uses about both disaster and health information in the middle of disaster of COVID-19 pandemic: what kinds of information they need, what kinds of information sources they use, which channels and media they use to learn the information, etc. To achieve the goal, the study conducted an online survey for general citizens over the age of 20. The survey is composed of 45 questions including four topics-demographic characteristics, information seeking behavior on both disaster and health, and the roles of public information organizations such as libraries in the middle of disaster. On the basis of the results, the research discusses and suggests that what kinds of information should be supplied and in what manners, and which media or information systems should be used when the governments or public organizations provide the information regarding disaster and health, and what roles public information organizations such as libraries should play in the middle of disaster.

This study intends to identify the current situations, and, to investigate the major problems of academic library automation in South Korea. Emphasis was on the quality evaluation of the present library automation systems from the perspectives of both librarians and end-users. Three most representative automation systems were chosen for a comparative analysis: Seoul National University's SOLARS, Postech's LINNET, and Pusan National University's PULIP. Each automation system was analyzed and compared [no another in terms of the development history, the system functions, and, the strength and weakness. The final suggestion includes the philosophy and strategies for the future development of academic library automation systems.
