This study aims to analyze and compare the components of school library laws of Korea and Japan. The laws of two nations were legislated by the members of the National Assembly, and NGO contributed significantly to the legislative process. The common parts of the two laws are objectives, definitions, responsibilities of nations, establishments, tasks, human resources, collaborative networks, and education, etc. For the task of school libraries, Korean law emphasizes the function of education, while the Japan law focuses on the basic duties of school libraries. In terms of human resources, school libraries in Korea can have a teacher librarian, a practice teacher, or a librarian, but in Japan, they can have either a teacher librarian or a school librarian. The Korea law specifies the aspects of facilities and materials, but the Japan law does not. Finally, for the educational role, the Korean libraries have reading and information literacy training that are parts of school curriculum, while the Japan libraries have only a library use guidance program and does not include reading education.

This study analytically examined library anxiety that various users felt when they use public libraries, by measuring it on K-LAS. The findings show that the library anxiety is varied depending on users' age, gender, academic careers, usage purposes, frequency of use and size of libraries. It suggested the guidance and education about the use of libraries, environmental improvement based on the remodeling of libraries, wearing of nameplates written in big characters for identifying librarians and the education for users' understanding and the provision of device and equipment manuals according the levels of users' experiences, as measures for overcoming the library anxiety, enhancing usage satisfaction and activating usage.

학교도서관은 그 어느 때보다도 높은 관심 속에서 발전하고 있다. 그림에도 불구하고 학교도서관을 운영할 사서교사의 배치는 난관에 부딪혀 있다. 이에 본고에서는 도서관의 고유한 역할인 참고봉사의 기능을 학교 교육과 연계시켜 한가지 해결책을 제시한다. 도서관 업무의 꽃이라고 하는 참고봉사는 기본 2대 기능이 정보와 교육에 있다. 이중에서 교육 기능의 측면에서 어떻게 사서교사를 학교도서관에 배치할 수 있는가하는 점에 초점을 두고 이 논문을 전개한다. 또 본고에서는 국내외 정보이용 교육과정, 초ㆍ중등학교 정보와 도서관 교육과정의 구성과 기반 이론, 향후 현장 학교도서관과 학계에 미칠 교과교육학의 영향, 정보와 도서관 교육과정의 정책 방향 등에 대해 제시하였다.

This study aimed at analyzing the influence factors of the academic library on college's education and research performances. The researched subject was 144 colleges targeted for information disclosure by Center for Higher Education Information Disclosure. The conclusion of the present study is as follows. First, the educational performance in college showed the positive relation with 'library environment' variables except 'seating capacity per capita'. Second, the educational performance in college was positively related to the variable of 'library outcome' and particularly, it was directly influenced by circulation, visit, and interlibrary loan. Third, the research performance in college showed a positive correlation with 'library environment' variables except facility scale of library. Fourth, the research performance in college showed a positive relation with the variable of 'library outcome' and research performance excluding 'publication in domestic journals per capita' was positively influenced by 'document delivery services usage per capita' and 'commercial DB usage per capita' in common.

본 연구의 목적은 유사한 문화적 배경을 공유한 일본, 한국, 대만의 도서관학 교육을 비교하여 유사점과 상이점을 발견하고 그들의 배경이유를 찾아서 사회와 도서관학 교육의 관계를 밝히는 것이다. 비교의 대상이 된 교육기관은 4년제 대학(교)의 도서관학과로 일본의 다섯 대학교, 한국의 아홉 대학교, 대만의 네 대학교의 도서관학 교육을 비교하였다. 연구가 증명하려고 시도한 가설은, 1. 일본, 한국, 대만은 유사한 문화적 배경을 공유하는 한편, 미국의 도서관학 교육을 받아들였으므로, 세 나라의 도서관학 교육에는 유사점들이 있을 것이다. 2. 상이점들이 있다면, 그것들은 각 국의 특성을 반영할 것이다. 3. 세 나라의 도서관학 교육에 유사점들이 있다면 도서관학 교육의 경향, 문제점들 및 전망도 비슷할 것이다. 가설의 증명을 위하여 교육의 목적, 교수진, 남$\cdot$여학생의 비율, 입학시의 학생들의 학력수준, 교과과정, 과정수료에 요구되는 특수조건, 교과서, 연구, 학과 도서실 및 시설, 학과와 도서관과의 협력관계, 정보학 교과목, 사회가 요구하는 도서관 봉사 및 그에 대응하는 도서관학 교육의 청도, 교육의 경향, 문제점 및 장래 그리고 학과 졸업생들의 도서관 취업률 등을 비교하였다. 비교의 결과 가설을 타당한 것으로 받아들일 수 있었다. 결론에 대한 설명과 아울러 도서관학 교육의 방향을 제언하였다. 1. 미국의 도서관학 교육이 근거로 한 이론적인 배경 및 개념을 재검토하여 적합한 것은 받아들이고, 필요한 경우에는 변형하여 적용하도록 노력해야 한다. 미국과 다른 나라의 실제 도서관 업무 및 봉사에 대한 이해를 토대로 하여 사서와 교육자가 함께 자국의 상황에 적합한 고유한 도서관학을 정립하여야 한다. 2. 도서관 이용 및 봉사에 보다 관심을 기울이고 바람직한 개념을 홍보하고 그것에 호응하는 환경을 만들기 위하여 노력해야 한다. 미래의 사서인 학생들을 이용자에게 접근하여 그들을 가르칠 수 있고 도서관을 이용하도록 유도할 수 있게끔 교육을 시켜야 할 것이다. 3. 미국 이외의 나라에서 실시되는 교육제도에도 관심을 가져야 할 것이다. 4. 도서관 및 도서관학 교육에 정부의 적극적인 지원이 필요하다. 다른 전문직과 같은 대우를 받으려면, 국가고시제도가 도입되어야 할 것이다. 5. 도서관협회가 도서관학 교육에 보다 적극적으로 참여해야 한다. 사서 자격증을 관할하는 단체가 될 수도 있고 교육의 내용에도 관여할 수 있다. 6. 도서관학과와 도서관과의 협력관계가 보다 강화되어야 하며, 도서관현장을 토대로 한 연구활동이 필요하다. 진정한 의미의 문제 해결을 위한 연구활동이 없이 이론적, 실제적인 발전을 기대할 수 없다. 7. 대학(교) 도서관 및 특수도서관의 사서를 위한 전문교육은 대학원 수준에서 제공되고, 학부의 도서관학 교육은 학교도서관 및 공공도서관의 사서를 위한 교육으로 전문화되어야 한다. 8. 도서관학의 교육자들이 모여 문제를 토론하고 해결책을 모색할 수 있는 기회가 제공되어야 하며, 세 나라가 공동의 경험을 나누고 문제를 함께 해결할 수 있는 공식적인 회의나 학회의 구성이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study is to reveal how undergraduate students' computer literacy and library knowledge can affect their frequency of library material use and information literacy, and analyze the correlations between frequency of library material use and information literacy. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to students of 7 universities in 8 credit-given user education courses, and correlations with variables were analyzed through hypothesis testing. It was suggested that with strong support of university administration, user education should be taught by using more of scholarly library material.

"도서관법" 제2조에서는 "공공도서관이라 함은 공중의 정보이용 문화활동 독서활동 및 평생교육을 위하여 국가 또는 지방자치단체가 설립 운영하는 도서관 또는 법인, 단체 및 개인이 설립 운영하는 도서관을 말한다."라고 정의하고 있다. 서울특별시 공공도서관에 몸담아 온 지 30여년이 가까워 오는 사서로서 도서관 경영, 시스템, 이용자서비스, 프로그램 등의 영역에서 많은 변화를 경험하였고, 앞으로 더욱 빠른 변화가 예상되기에 현 시점에서 서울특별시 공공도서관의 변천을 돌아보는 것도 의미 있는 일이라 생각한다. 2010년 국가도서관통계를 기준으로 서울에는 총 666개의 공공도서관(작은도서관 등 포함)이 있고, 그중 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관(평생학습관 포함)은 총 22개가 있다. 여기에서는 서울특별시교육청 소속 공공도서관 및 평생학습관의 변천에 대해서 개략적으로 살펴보되 도서관 설립과 통계 부문을 다루고자 한다.

The purpose of this study is to introduce the Podcast's concept, to perform the theoretical research of Podcast services based on Web 2.0, to analyze the application cases of Podcast for academic and public library services in USA, and to propose the proper application programs of Podcast in Korean academic & public libraries. As the results of this study, through the Podcast, the public libraries have served these : library & events introduction, user instruction, community news, special lecture, storytelling, library tour, etc, and the academic libraries have served these : special topic librarian introduction, special lectures, seminar, forum, addition to library tour. The results of this study will give the good examples for planning Podcast programs in Korean academic & public libraries.

This study is aimed to suggest the core elements of instruction and development program through understanding the generation Y's characteristics and examining the standards and education models for information literacy. Concretely, this paper is comparatively analyze and customize the successful online information literacy tutorial models adopted by university libraries in U.S.A, Japan, and Korea. As a result of research, the outline of the needed procedure and required contents for the improvement of the online tutorial in the university of our country are suggested.

In order for public education to iud its balance, stronger arts education program is necessary. Successful delivery of arts education program is expected when it is implemented in cooperation with public library, which is at the heart of community culture and education. Under these assumptions, this study determined current status of arts education programs by investigating public library documents. The research also verified the prospect of facilitating the programs with public library support with survey. Based on the findings, problems in current public library were identified and alternatives for seamless collaboration with schools were recommended.
