교육계를 중심으로 사회전반에서 책읽기에 대한 관심이 고조되어 감에 따라 학교교육의 중심이라 할 수 있는 학교도서관이 교육환경개선에 있어서 어떤 역할을 할 수 있는지 살펴 보고자 “도서관문화”에서는 7월 28일(화) 우리 협회 회의실에서 ‘교육환경개선과 학교도서관’이라는 주제로 좌담회를 가졌다. 이번 좌담회에는 김경욱 전국교직원노동조합 정책기획실장, 박희 사서교사협의회장, 오명숙 어린이도서연구회 문화부장, 이병기 서울중등학교도서관연구회 연구부장이 참석하였으며, 사회와 원고정리는 우리 협회 이용훈 기회부장이 맡았다.

The purpose of this study is to review the advanced researches of the library tour, to extract the educational properties of library tour, and to propose the pedagogical meanings of library tour by reinterpreting the library tour based on pedagogical theories and foundations. As the result of this study, the extracted educational properties of library tour are like these: experience, media, explanation, interpretation, interaction. The educational properties are extracted through the related theories and researches. The pedagogical foundations based on the educational properties of library tour are like these: 1) John Dewey's experience theory. 2) Dale & Dwyer's teaching & learning media theories. 3) Bruner's educational theory. It's expected that this study will help the education librarians to plan, develop, and implement the face to face or virtual library tour program based on the pedagogical foundations for the effective library education.

현재 공공도서관에서는 홈페이지를 통한 이용자 교육 프로그램이 미비한 실정으로, 이 연구에서는 현재 도서관 홈페이지에서 제공하는 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하여 향후 공공도서관 홈페이지를 이용한 이용자 교육 프로그램의 발전을 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 기존 문헌에서의 평가 기준과 전문가의 자문을 통하여 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목에 대한 분석기준을 확립하고, 이에 따라 공공도서관 홈페이지의 이용자 교육관련 항목들을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 홈페이지 이용자 교육에서 필요한 사항들에 대해 제언하고자 한다.

This study aims to develop more user-oriented information literacy education for medical libraries in Korea. For this purpose, we benchmarked some advanced models in and out of Korea, and examined a case of C medical library which is medium size in Korea. Especially, we looked into the actual condition of information literacy education of C medical library and the information need of its users. We suggested some ideas to construct the programs for information literacy education of medical libraries in Korea. Especially, we proposed some considerations, contents and flow for the programs. The results of this study can be useful references whenever each medical library in Korea will start or make up for its information literacy program.

In this paper, I studied on reading instruction in the school library. Reading instruction is a very important role of school library. And it is an essential element of school education. In this paper, I tried an application of constructivism for reading instruction. Information literacy instruction of school library includes reading instruction. So the pattern of information literacy instruction of school library was accepted as reading instruction pattern of school library in this paper. And then constructivism for learning principle and reading strategies as reading instruction was analyzed in this paper. Gerard J. Westhoff categorized reading strategies into 4 parts. I applied this categorization of reading strategies to the reading instruction pattern. And I analyzed and synthesized these relative constructivism elements and reading strategies for the reading instruction pattern in this paper.

This study has been conducted in preparation for a library instruction program for the Sangmyung University Library. The purpose of this study Is to assess the effectiveness of different types of library instruction in improving the information literacy of users. 112 questionnaires were measured and analyzed using SAS and t-test, ANOVA among other statistical techniques. The results were as follows: (1) Library instruction directly affects the information literacy of users. After taking library instruction. users were able to effectively use the AtoZ service, related Sites service. thesis service, E-resources, DDS service. off-campus service, translation system and the e-book service through the library homepage. (2) Group instruction proved to be the most effective type of library Instruction while online instruction was the worst.

To investigate the present states and analyze the library anxiety among academic library users, A University library users sampled systematically and surveyed. Data collected from 707 students are analyzed and compared with the previous studies. The average LAS score is 2.55 and show differences in sex, grade levels, and major areas of study. Library use instruction reduces anxiety subscale of barriers with staff. Library anxiety is also differed according to the frequency of library visit. Especially, the anxiety subscale of affective barriers is decreased according to the grade level and frequency of library visit. Based on the results, recommendations are suggested to overcome the library anxiety.

This study has examined the cause of the library anxiety among foreign students upon visiting college libraries. 131 students were investigated using Library Anxiety Scale (LAS) to analyze the relationship between sex, grade, library use education, frequency of library use, Korean skill and cultural heterogeneity. The result of the LAS showed an average of 2.60 among foreign students, and the anxiety from the "mechanical barrier" was scored the highest. For sex, male students tended to be relatively more anxious than female students on the "accommodation of library" and "knowledge of library." Students who participated in the library use education were less anxious than those who did not, and the more one used library, the less one became anxious. Based on these results, the study proposes the way ahead for resolving library anxiety through library use education and frequency of use.
