Given a domain, client applications over the Internet are in support of the DNS (Domain Name System) to get its corresponding IP address. Currently, only domain names expressed by ASCII code are recognized over the Internet. This enforces the usage of ASCII domain names even in countries which use languages based on multilingual code other than ASCII code. In this paper, we present a methodology to support multilingual domain names on top of the existing DNS. The methodology is based on code translation of domain names in multilingual code into ASCII code via UTF5. We implement a gateway, called Proxy Hangul DNS (P-HDNS) based on the proposed methodology. This paper presents the principles of the methodology and the implementation details of P-HDNS.

Cybersquatting is a type of conflicts between a trademark and a domain, and refers to "behaviors of registering, retaining, transferring, and using the identical or similar domain name in bad faith for the profit from the mark such as trademark". That is, it is preoccupying behavior to abuse the fact that the domain name in the Internet can be freely registered on a first come, first served basis and can't duplicate. Though this should be prohibited, given the reality that most of our daily lives are based in the Internet, this is creating many problems in IT environment beyond social structure in rule of law. Therefore, this study has the purpose that it provides cybersquatting-related information and suggests legislative implications hereafter through the analysis of cybersquatting-related precedent from the Supreme Court.

The access to web applications has continuously evolved toward the adoption of content centric interfaces. Services and information items are much of user's concern than web sites. For an efficient accommodation of increasing needs of content oriented operations, the scope of domain names is extended in two directions. A naming scheme is derived that is suitable for resource level access units and the semantics of domain names is conceived as very flexible functions. First extension regards the removal of unnecessary TLD's of domain names for resource level binding. Second extension makes the resource level domain names rich in functional binding and consequently various applications can be directly triggered by the invocation of domain names without intervening medium. These extensions may lay a certain direction for the future internet evolution.

안전한 도메인 네임 시스템은 인터넷에서 호스트의 주소와 이름을 매핑해주는 분산 시스템인 도메인 네임 시스템에 보안 기능을 강화한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 구조체를 이용하여 도메인 네임 시스템에서 사용되는 메시지를 처리하는 동시에 이 메시지에 첨부되어 있는 인증 정보를 인증할 수 있는 메시지 처리 시스템을 구현하였다. 이 메시지 처리 시스템을 이용하여 안전한 도메인 네임 시스템의 구현이 쉬워질 것으로 예상된다.

본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 정의 네트워크를 이용한 한중일 한자-한국어 변환 키워드 도메인 이름 시스템을 제안하였다. 한자 체계를 주로 사용하는 한국, 중국, 일본에서 세 나라의 한자 수량이 너무 많기 때문에 우선 한국, 중국, 일본이 공용으로 사용하는 한자 체계인 CJK808을 가지고 연구하였다. 연구를 통해 CJK808 한자 체계에서 각 나라의 한자 특징도 많이 발견하였고, 그 중에서 표준자와 이체자의 다양성이 더욱 두드러졌다. SDN을 이용함으로써 관리 측면에서 다양한 이점을 얻을 수 있다. 제안하는 시스템을 통하여 사용자들은 한국, 중국, 일본 한자를 입력하면 SDN에서 관리하는 도메인 네임 서버를 통해 IP 주소를 얻을 수 있다.

인터넷에서 호스트의 인터넷 주소와 이름을 상호 매핑해주는 도메인 네임 시스템은 호스트수가 급증함에 따라 그 중요성 또한 증대되고 있다. 최근 인증 기능을 제공하는 도메인 네임 시스템이 제안됨에 따라 이를 이용하여 진보된 서비스를 제공하려는 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 한편 도메인 네임 서버를 기존 네트워크 관리 체계 내에서 관리하기 위한 관리 정보개체는 이미 정의되어 있었다. 하지만 인증 기능을 제공하는 도메인 네임 서버 관리 정보 개체에 대한 연구는 진행되지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인증 기능을 제공하는 도메인 네임 시스템을 관리하기 위한 관리 정보를 정의하고 이를 구현하기 위한 안전한 도메인 네임 서버관리모델을 제시한다.

The domain name should be registered and used with the minimum length in consideration of the user's web accessibility and convenience. In addition, it is necessary to increase the status and authority of the library by allowing the type, region, and characteristics of the library to be known only by the domain name, and to consider the convenience of users. In this study, the situation of the state designated second-stage public domain and the second-stage public domain of educational institutions of similar character and size to the library are analyzed, and problems with the domain of libraries that do not have the second-stage domain are identified. Finally, second-stage public domains of national library (nl), public library (pl), and small library (sl) are proposed for each type of library, and the university library (lib. university domain) and school library (lib. School domain) proposed to use as the second-stage domains of the educational institution. The purpose is to allow users to intuitively know that these domains are libraries, to identify the type of library, and to know the characteristics and regions of the library. To this end, a joint effort by the academic community, the library community, and the Library Information Policy Committee is needed.

인터넷의 급속한 확산은 이른바 주소관리로 이어지는 도메인이름, IP주소 할당, 프로토콜 관리를 포함한 기술 정책의 수립을 통해 사이버 공간상의 새로운 질서를 요구하게 되었다. 지금까지 다양한 관점에서 논의되어온 인터넷 정책은 새로운 디지털 콘텐츠 식별체계의 도입에 있어 시사하는 바가 크다. 새로운 디지털 콘텐츠 식별 체계로 부각되고 있는 DOI는 단순한 식별체계로서만이 아니라 디지털 콘텐츠의 관리·유통을 포함하는 모든 측면에 영향을 끼칠 것으로 기대된다. 따라서 지금까지 수행되어온 인터넷 정책, 특히 주소관리 정책을 기반으로 한 효율적인 DOI 관리 정책 수립이 시급히 요청되고 있다.

분산가상서버 구조는 인터넷에서 멀티미디어 통신 제어를 위해 개발된 SIP를 이동 애드혹 네트워크(MANET)에 적용하기 위하여 SIP의 프락시서버, 등록서버(Registrar)를 도메인이름을 기반으로 각 노드들로 분산하여 관리하고 탐색하는 방법을 제공한다. 가상 서버를 통해 이동 단말들은 SIP의 응답속도와 서비스 가용도를 향상시키고, 인터넷에서 사용하던 SIP에 기반한 서비스를 MANET에서 자유롭게 사용할 수 있다.
