The 2-Phase Image Retrieval Technique using The Color and Shape Information (색상과 모양 정보를 이용한 2단계 영상 검색 기법)

  • As a result of remarkable developments in multimedia technology, the image database system that can efficiently retrieve image data becomes a core technology of information-oriented society. In this paper, we proposed the 2-phase Image Retrieval System considering both color and shape information as the method of image features extraction for content-based image data retrieval. At the first level, to get color information, with improving and extending the indexing method using color distribution characteristic suggested by Striker et al., i.e. the indexing method considering local color distribution characteristics, the system roughly classifies images through the improved method. At the second level, the system finally retrieves the most similar image from the image queried by the user using the shape information about the image groups classified at the first level. To extract the shape information, we use the Improved Moment Invariants (IMI) that manipulates only the pixels on the edges of objects in order to overcome two main problems of the existing Moment Invariant methods large amount of processing and rotation sensitiveness which can frequently be seen in the Directive Histogram Intersection technique suggested by Jain et al. Experiments have been conducted on 300 automobile images. And we could obtain the more improved results through the comparative test with other methods.

  • Recently, the wide spread popularity of smart phones causes the advent of various mobile applications base on the location information. Since previous pedestrian navigations are applied by extending car navigations, these are not only difficult to provide the appropriate route information, but also raise limitations in the efficient query processing by data structures of car road networks. In addition, these increase the power consumption caused by the growth of I/O frequency. In this paper, we propose a pedestrian road network model for the accurate route information and a storage structure for the pedestrian road network based on POI to reduce the I/O frequency. The proposed method enables efficient route searches over POI reflecting the characteristics and requirements of pedestrian roads. Also, a reduction of query processing costs for the route searching by a data structure considered with POI can save the power consumption more than previous approaches.

  • Wireless internet is embossed the new keyword of IT technology in the world lately. The wireless internet is the architecture, technology and service to be can taken data communication and internet service using wireless device through connecting internet in the wireless environment. These wireless internet technology is extends the scope of using information with the existing wire internet technology. But, It is necessary to be extend supply of quantitative and qualitative for using wireless internet technology efficiently. For these matters, it is efficient to reuse good qualify contents that is serviced on wire environments. Then, in this paper, design and implement the technique of creating con-tents that is made by the method of compounding parts based on the contents automatic reuse technology over the concept of creating new wireless contents.

  • XML is rapidly becoming technologies for information exchange and representation. It causes many research issues such as semantic modeling methods, security, conversion far interoperability with other models, and so on. Especially, the most important issue for its practical application is how to achieve the interoperability between XML model and relational model. Until now, many suggestions have been proposed to achieve it. However several problems still remain. Most of all, the exiting methods do not consider implicit referential integrity relations, and it causes incorrect data delivery. One method to do this has been proposed with the restriction where one semantic is defined as only one same name in a given database. In real database world, this restriction cannot provide the application and extensibility. This paper proposes a noble conversion (RDB-to-XML) algorithm based on the similarity checking technique. The key point of our method is how to find implicit referential integrity relations between different field names presenting one same semantic. To resolve it, we define an enhanced implicity referentiai integrity relations extraction algorithm based on a widely used ontology, WordNet. The proposed conversion algorithm is more practical than the previous-similar approach.

  • Recently, k-nearest neighbors query methods based on wireless broadcasting environment are actively studied. The advantage of wireless broadcasting environment is the scalability that enables collective query processing for unspecified users connected to the server. However, in case existing k-NN query is applied in wireless broadcasting environment, there can be a disadvantage that backtracking may occur and consequently the query processing time is increasing. In this paper proposes a hierarchical bitmap-based spatial index in order to efficiently process the k-NN queries in wireless broadcasting environment. HBI reduces the bitmap size using such bitmap information and tree structure. As a result, reducing the broadcast cycle can reduce the client's tuning time and query processing time. In addition, since the locations of all the objects can be detected using bitmap information, it is possible to tune to necessary data selectively. For this paper, a test was conducted implementing HBI to k-NN query and the proposed technique was proved to be excellent by a performance evaluation.

Approximation of Green Warranty Function by Radon Radial Basis Function Network (Radon RBF Network에 의해 그린 보증 함수의 근사화)

  • As the price of traditional fuels soar, the alternatives are becoming more viable. And manufacturers are promoting the growing viability of electric and biofuel-powered vehicles through longer warranties. Now, these longer green environment (emission)warranties, sometimes called extended warranties or "super warranties," have been adapted. The main result of this paper is to present a new method to approximate a bivariate warranty function by using Radial Basis Function Network with application of Radon Transform and its inverse which is used to reduce the dimension of the warranty space. This method consist of the following stages: First, by using the Radon Transform, the bivariate warranty function can be reduced to one dimensional function. Second, each of the one dimensional functions is approximated by using neural network technique into neural sub-networks. Third, these neural sub-networks are combined together to form the final approximation neural network. Four, by using the inverse of radon transform to this final approximation neural network we get the approximation to the given function. Also, we apply the above method to some green warranty data of automotive vehicle company.

The Compressed Instruction Set Architecture for the OpenRISC Processor (OpenRISC 프로세서를 위한 압축 명령어 집합 구조)

  • To achieve efficient code size reduction, this paper proposes a new compressed instruction set architecture for the OpenRISC architecture. The new instructions and their corresponding formats are designed by the profiling information of the existing instruction usage. New 16-bit instructions and 32-bit instructions are proposed to compressed the existing 32-bit instructions and instruction sequences, respectively. The proposed instructions can be classified into three types. The first is the new 16-bit instructions for the frequent normal 32-bit instructions such as add, load, store, branch, and jump instructions. The second type is the new 32-bit instructions for the consecutive two load instructions, two store instructions, and 32-bit data mov instructions. Finally, two new 32-bit instructions are proposed to compress function prolog and epilog code, respectively. OpenRISC hardware decoder is extended to support the new instructions. Experiments show that the efficiency of code size reduction improves by an average of 30.4% when compared to the OR1200 instruction set architecture without loss of execution performance.

The Study of an Extended Cultural Dimensions Index based on the Content (콘텐츠 중심의 확장형 문화 차원 지수 연구)

  • There are lots of tries to make a combination between the technology development which is fast arisen and cultural phenomenon which imply in it. We called this research area as the cultural computing or cultural modeling. In this paper, we examine the cultural user interface design, especially cultural design structure based on the contents considering the research trend of the cultural modeling. To design of the contents based on the culture, there is a need to draw a structure of the cultural feature for the contents. To do this, we combine Hofstede's cultural dimensions model with the data of contents and then we suggest cultural index of content(CiCo). Furthermore, we draw national index of cultural content(NiCC), through conjoining CiCo with preference pattern of content consumption for the nations. Suggested CiCo and NiCC are based on Hofstede's model, however they are improved approximately 10% of the explanatory of model than the Hofstede's.

  • The national government is pushing hard the adoption of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology in the construction industry. The BIM application provides a visualized environment where the construction manager can inspect the structure of buidling structures. The application also provides information on activity progresses as well as earned values. However, BIM is mostly applied to visualize a structural object with definite forms. The BIM technology needs to be extended to include an object with non-definite forms such as earthwork operations. The objective of this study is to present a prototype of earthwork BIM in the construction operation. The prototype has been built on the attributes of geological information, construction equipment and positioning. The prototype of earthwork BIM shows a 3D graphic simulation of construction equipment moving around for digging and loading.

Attitude determination of cubesat during eclipse considering the satellite dynamics and torque disturbance (인공위성의 동역학과 토크 외란을 고려한 큐브위성의 식 기간 자세추정)

  • Attitude determination of satellite is categorized by deterministic and recursive method. The recursive algorithm using Kalman filter is widely used. Cubesat has limitation for payload to minimize then only two attitude sensors are installed which are sun sensor and magnetometer. Sun sensor measurements are useless during eclipse, however cubesat keeps estimating attitude to complete the successful mission. In this paper, Attitude determination algorithm based on Kalman filter is developed by additional term which considering the dynamics for SNUSAT-1 with disturbance torque. Verification of attitude accuracy of the algorithm is conducted during eclipse. Attitude determination algorithm is simulated to compare the performance between typical method and proposed algorithm. In addition, Attitude errors are analysed with various magnitude of disturbance torque caused by space environment.
