A Movie Recommendation System processing High-Dimensional Data with Fuzzy-AHP and Fuzzy Association Rules (퍼지 AHP와 퍼지 연관규칙을 이용하여 고차원 데이터를 처리하는 영화 추천 시스템)

  • Recent recommendation systems are developing toward the utilization of high-dimensional data. However, high-dimensional data can increase algorithm complexity by expanding dimensions and be lower the accuracy of recommended items. In addition, it can cause the problem of data sparsity and make it difficult to provide users with proper recommended items. This study proposed an algorithm that classify users' subjective data with objective criteria with fuzzy-AHP and make use of rules with repetitive patterns through fuzzy association rules. Trying to check how problems with high-dimensional data would be mitigated by the algorithm, we performed 5-fold cross validation according to the changing number of users. The results show that the algorithm-applied system recorded accuracy that was 12.5% higher than that of the fuzzy-AHP-applied system and mitigated the problem of data sparsity.

  • With increasing interest in the 4th industrial revolution, data-driven scientific methodologies have developed. However, there are limitations of data collection in the real estate field of research. In addition, as the public becomes more knowledgeable about the real estate market, the qualitative sentiment comes to play a bigger role in the real estate market. Therefore, we propose a method to collect quantitative data that reflects sentiment using text mining and k-means algorithms, rather than the existing source data, and to predict the direction of housing index through artificial neural network learning based on the collected data. Data from 2012 to 2019 is set as the training period and 2020 as the prediction period. It is expected that this study will contribute to the utilization of scientific methods such as artificial neural networks rather than the use of the classical methodology for real estate market participants in their decision making process.

  • To realistically produce fluids such as smoke for the visual effects in the films or animations, we need two main processes: a physics-based modeling of smoke and a rendering of smoke simulation data, based on light transport theory. In the computer graphics community, the physics-based fluids simulation is generally adopted for smoke modeling. Recently, the interest of the particle-based Lagrangian simulation methods is increasing due to the advantages at simulation time, instead of the grid-based Eulerian simulation methods which was widely used. As a result, because the smoke rendering technique depends heavily on the modeling method, the research for rendering of the particle-based smoke data still remains challenging while the research for rendering of the grid-based smoke data is actively in progress. This paper focuses on realistic rendering technique for the smoke particles produced by Lagrangian simulation method. This paper introduces a technique which is called particle map, that is the expansion and modification of photon mapping technique for the particle data. And then, this paper suggests the novel particle map technique and shows the differences and improvements, compared to previous work. In addition, this paper presents irradiance map technique which is the pre-calculation of the multiple scattering term in the volume rendering equation to enhance efficiency at rendering time.

  • As real-time database systems are extended to the distributed computing environment, the need to apply the existing real-time concurrency control schemes to the distributed computing environment has been made. In this paper we propose an efficient concurrency control scheme for distributed real-time database system. Our proposed scheme guarantees a transaction to commit at its maximum, reduces the restart of a transaction that is on the prepared commit phase, and minimizes the time of the lock holding. This is because it raises the priority of the transaction that is on the prepared commit phase in the distributed real-time computing environment. In addition, it reduces the waiting time of a transaction that owns borrowed data and improves the performance of the system, as a result of lending the data that the transaction with the raised priority holds. We compare the proposed scheme with DO2PL_PA(Distributed Optimistic Two-Phase Locking) and MIRROR(Managing Isolation in Replicated Real-time Object Repositories) protocol in terms of the arrival rate of transactions, the size of transactions, the write probability of transactions, and the replication degree of data in a firm-deadline real-time database system based on two-phase commit protocol. It is shown through the performance evaluation that our scheme outperforms the existing schemes.

  • According as the users can connect to remote hosts at anytime by using internet, the demand of non-stop system is increased. Also, the research about on-line adding/deleting disks and hosts are progressed. This paper suggests that the method of reducing additional operation when we add disks to the stripping system. That method can fast mapping like equation based mapping method because of using so-called SZIT(Striping Zone Information Table) and equations. And that method can reduce the relocation overhead in striping system at adding disks.

  • The success of enterprise information system(EIS) is crucial to align with corporate strategies and eventually attain corporate goals. Since one of the factors to information system success is system use, managerial efforts to measure the level of EIS utilization is vital. In this paper, the EIS utilization level is analyzed using system access log data. In particular, process sequence patterns and clustering of similar functions are identified in more detail based on a process mining method, in addition to basic access log statistics. The result of this research can be used to improve existing information system design by finding real IS usage sequences and function clusters.

  • In this paper, we design the indirect adaptive controller using Wavelet Neural Network(WNN) for unknown nonlinear systems. The proposed indirect adaptive controller using WNN consists of identification model and controller. Here, the WNN is used in both Identification model and controller The WNN has advantage of indicating the location in both time and frequency simultaneously, and has faster convergence than MLPN and RBFN. There are several training methods for WNN, such as GD, GA, DNA, etc. In this paper, we present the Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) based training method. Although it is computationally complex, this algorithm updates parameters consistent with previous data and usually converges in a few iterations. Finally, ore illustrate the effectiveness of our method through computer simulations for the Buffing system and the one-link rigid robot manipulator. From the simulation results, we show that the indirect adaptive controller using the EKF method has better performance than the GD method.

An Improved Hierarchical Routing Protocol for Wireless Hybrid Mesh Network (무선 하이브리드 메쉬 네트워크를 위한 개선된 계층구조 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • In this paper we propose an improved hierarchical routing protocol for wireless hybrid mesh network. The proposed method efficiently manages network topology and reduces overhead traffic for setting routing path by considering link stability. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the HOLSR (hierarchical optimized link state routing) method in aggregate goodput, packet delivery ratio, and end-to-end delay.

  • Current researches on the overlay multicast mechanism in the mobile ad hoc network (MANET) maintain the network topology information of the dynamically changing MANET, which may cause severe overhead. In this paper, we propose a new overlay multicast mechanism, the region-based overlay multicast in MANET(ROME), using the geometric locations of group members. In ROME, the physical topology is divided into small regions and the scope of location updates of group members is limited to a single region. ROME provides scalability by using the coordinate of the center point of a destination region as the destination of a data packet instead of the list of member addresses of that region. Our simulation results show that ROME gives better performance in terms of the packet overhead than other schemes.

Analysis of Soil Bailed Wall under Piled Bridge Abutment (교대하부 도로확장에 적용된 쏘일네일 벽체의 해석)

  • A soil mailed wall is adapted as road widening measure and is constructed under a miniature abutment built on steel pipe piles. The soil nailed wall called for removal of the existing embankment slope to permanently retain the fill behind the abutment. The soil nailed wall is fully instrumented and is monitored. A 3D finite element analysis is used to study further the behavior of the soil nailed wall. The complete sequence of construction is simulated. The numerical model is calibrated against the instrumented nailed wall. Then a parametric study is conducted. The results provide valuable information related to the effect of the excavation and nailing on the following: axial load and bending moment in the piles, load in the nails, and wall deflections.
