  • The availability of high-resolution satellite image time series data has led to an increase in change detection research. Various methods are being studied, such as satellite image pixel and object-level change detection algorithms, as well as algorithms that apply deep learning technology. In this paper, we propose a QGIS plugin-based system to enhance the utilization of these useful results and present an actual implementation case. The proposed system is a system for intensive change detection and monitoring of areas of interest, and we propose a convenient system expansion method for algorithms to be developed in the future. Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to the construction of satellite image utilization systems by presenting the basic structure of commercialization of change detection research.

  • Floods are becoming more severe and frequent due to global warming-induced climate change. Water disasters are rising in Korea due to severe rainfall and wet seasons. This makes preventive climate change measures and efficient water catastrophe responses crucial, and synthetic aperture radar satellite imagery can help. This research created 1,423 water body learning datasets for individual water body regions along the Han and Nakdong waterways to reflect domestic water body properties discovered by Sentinel-1 satellite radar imagery. We created a document with exact data annotation criteria for many situations. After the dataset was processed, U-Net, a deep learning model, analyzed water body detection results. The results from applying the learned model to water body locations not involved in the learning process were studied to validate soil water body monitoring on a national scale. The analysis showed that the created water body area detected water bodies accurately (F1-Score: 0.987, Intersection over Union [IoU]: 0.955). Other domestic water body regions not used for training and evaluation showed similar accuracy (F1-Score: 0.941, IoU: 0.89). Both outcomes showed that the computer accurately spotted water bodies in most areas, however tiny streams and gloomy areas had problems. This work should improve water resource change and disaster damage surveillance. Future studies will likely include more water body attribute datasets. Such databases could help manage and monitor water bodies nationwide and shed light on misclassified regions.

  • Techniques for change detection using satellite images enable efficient detection of natural and artificial changes in use of land through multi-phase images. As for change detection, different results are made based on methods of calibration of satellite images, types of input data, and techniques in change analysis. Thus, an analytic technique that is appropriate to objectives of a study shall be applied as results are different based on diverse conditions even when an identical satellite and an identical image are used for change detection. In this study, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) were conducted after geometric calibration of satellite images which went through absolute and relative radiometric calibrations and change detection analysis was conducted using Image Difference (ID) and Image Rationing (IR). As a result, ID-NDVI showed excellent accuracy in change detection related to vegetation. ID-PCA showed 90% of accuracy in all areas. IR-NDVI had 90% of accuracy while it was 70% and below as for paddies and dry fields${\rightarrow}$grassland. IR-PCA had excellent change detection over all areas.

  • The recommender system analyzes users' preference and predicts the users' preference to items in order to recommend various items such as book, movie and music for the users. The collaborative filtering method is used most widely in the recommender system. The method uses rating information of similar users when recommending items for the target users. Performance of the collaborative filtering-based recommendation is lowered when attacker maliciously manipulates the rating information on items. This kind of malicious act on a recommender system is called 'Recommendation Attack'. When the evaluation data that are in continuous change are analyzed in the perspective of data stream, it is possible to predict attack on the recommender system. In this paper, we will suggest the method to detect attack on the recommender system by using the stream trend of the item evaluation in the collaborative filtering-based recommender system. Since the information on item evaluation included in the evaluation data tends to change frequently according to passage of time, the measurement of changes in item evaluation in a fixed period of time can enable detection of attack on the recommender system. The method suggested in this paper is to compare the evaluation stream that is entered continuously with the normal stream trend in the test cycle for attack detection with a view to detecting the abnormal stream trend. The proposed method can enhance operability of the recommender system and re-usability of the evaluation data. The effectiveness of the method was verified in various experiments.

  • Satellite imaging is an effective supplementary data source for detecting and verifying nuclear activity. It is also highly beneficial in regions with limited access and information, such as nuclear installations. Time series analysis, in particular, can identify the process of preparing for the conduction of a nuclear experiment, such as relocating equipment or changing facilities. Differences in the semantic segmentation findings of time series photos were employed in this work to detect changes in meaningful items connected to nuclear activity. Building, road, and small object datasets made of KOMPSAT 3/3A photos given by AIHub were used to train deep learning models such as U-Net, PSPNet, and Attention U-Net. To pick relevant models for targets, many model parameters were adjusted. The final change detection was carried out by including object information into the first change detection, which was obtained as the difference in semantic segmentation findings. The experiment findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could effectively identify altered pixels. Although the suggested approach is dependent on the accuracy of semantic segmentation findings, it is envisaged that as the dataset for the region of interest grows in the future, so will the relevant scope of the proposed method.

  • Currently, the 4th Industrial Revolution, like other revolutions, is bringing great change and new life to humanity, and in particular, the demand for and use of drones, which can be applied by combining various technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and information and communications technology, is increasing. Recently, it has been widely used to carry out dangerous military operations and missions, such as the Russia-Ukraine war and North Korea's reconnaissance against South Korea, and as the demand for and use of drones increases, concerns about the safety and security of drones are growing. Currently, a variety of research is being conducted, such as detection of wireless communication abnormalities and sensor data abnormalities related to drones, but research on real-time detection of threats using radio frequency characteristic data is insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we conduct a study to determine whether the characteristic data is normal or abnormal signal data by collecting radio frequency signal characteristic data generated while the drone communicates with the ground control system while performing a mission in a HITL(Hardware In The Loop) simulation environment similar to the real environment. proceeded. In addition, we propose an unsupervised learning-based threat detection system and optimal threshold that can detect threat signals in real time while a drone is performing a mission.

  • Profile control chart aims to detect a change in the functional relationship of multivariate characteristics in the statistical process control. In monitoring two variables, a linear profile is of interest composed of the intercept and slope of one variable (response variable) against the other (explanatory variable). The previous studies on monitoring of the linear profile mostly assume that the explanatory variables are the same for all profiles. However, there are also cases where they vary depending on profiles. This paper intends to extend the monitoring method to where explanatory variables are different for each profile. We compare the new method's performance through simulation and apply it to monitoring a network intrusion using NSL-KDD data.

  • In this paper, we propose the modified SED (Subband Energy Detection) which can assign weights adapting to the receiving signal level for the broadband energy detection in the passive SONARs. SED which is one of the broadband processing mainly employed by passive SONARs to detect a target is more robust against interference like multi signals or a clutter than CED (Conventional Energy Detection), but it degrades detection performance to assign weights independent of extracted extrema level of the receiving signal. Therefore, in this paper, the weighting method which can efficiently assigns rewards or penalties adapting to extracted extrema level of the receiving signal is proposed. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed method, we conducted experiments by using simulation and real ocean acoustic signal which is acquired from Yellow Sea. From the experiments, our proposed method has shown better performance than conventional SED.
