최근 무선통신망의 발전에 따라 이동성을 기반으로 하는 서비스에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그리고 휴대폰과 PDA와 같은 휴대용 단말기의 사용이 일반화된 가운데 GPS를 기반으로 하는 서비스들도 점차적으로 보편화되어 가고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 이동성을 지원하는 무선 단말기를 기반으로 한 Mobile GIS 환경에서의 위치 정보 활용은 큰 관심을 불러일으키고 있으며, 또한 이러한 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하기 위해서 위치 기반 서비스(LBS : Location Based Service)의 기술개발이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 전력회사에서 LBS를 적용하기 위한 Business Model인 기동보수 업무를 대상으로 크게 3가지 부분으로 나누어 설계한 모델을 제시한다. 위치 컨텐츠를 처리하고 차량 및 보수 상황 관리 서비스를 제공하는 위치 응용 서버, 현장의 이동 단말 장치와 인터페이스에 직접 작용하는 위치 서비스 클라이언트, 피리고 위치 응용 서버와 위치 서비스 클라이언트간의 위치 및 작업정보 데이터 송수신을 담당하는 게이트웨이 서비스로 구성하여 요구기능, 처리흐름 시공간 데이터베이스 구조 구현방안 등 LBS를 제공하기 위한 선계 내용을 서술한다.

Many techniques have been proposed for mapping from XML to relations, but most techniques did not negotiate the semantics of XML data. The semantics is important to validate storage, query optimization, modification anomaly in process of schema design. Specially, functional dependencies are an important part of database theory, also it is basis of normalization for relational table in BCNF. This paper propose a new technique that reflect functional dependencies to store relation mapped from XML based on XML Schema. The technique can reduce storage redundancy and can keep up content and structure with constraint described by functional dependencies.

최근 무선/이동 통신 기술과 GPS 기술의 발달은 휴대폰을 소지하고 이동하는 사람이나 GPS 수신기를 탑재한 차량과 같은 이동객체의 위치 정보와 관련된 서비스의 제공을 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 환경에서 연속적으로 변경되는 이동객체의 위치 정보는 데이터베이스에 빈번한 갱신 연산을 요구하게 되고, 이는 전체 시스템의 성능을 저하시키는 원인이 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 R-Tree와 같은 공간색인 구조를 확장하여 갱신 효율을 높이기 위한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만, 시스템의 전체 성능은 오히려 저하되는 문제를 가져왔다. 이 논문에서는 이동객체의 질의 처리 성능뿐만 아니라 객체의 빈번한 위치 갱신을 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 방법으로 고정 그리드와 R-Tree를 혼합한 형태의 색인 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 색인 기법은 R-Tree에서 색인의 재조직화로 인해 갱신 성능이 저하되는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 셀 기반 색인 기법인 고정 그리드를 이용하여 이동객체의 위치 정보를 저장하고, 고정 그리드에서 객체의 편중 분포로 인한 오버플로 문제를 처리하기 위하여 오버플로가 발생한 각각의 셀들을 R-Tree로 관리한다. 또한, 객체의 밀도가 낮은 셀들을 하나의 버켓으로 공유하여 관리함으로써 저장 공간을 효율적으로 활용한다. 제안된 방법을 다양한 평가 요소를 통해 실험한 결과, 기존의 R-Tree보다 뛰어난 갱신 성능을 보였으며, 질의 처리에 대해서도 성능이 향상되었음을 보였다.

We propose a graphical object query language called OGPL (Odysseus Graphical Query Language) for Odysseus object databases. By employing simple graphical notations, OGQL provides a user friendly database interface for object databases. OGQL provides a simple graphical notation for advanced features of the object queries such as path expressions including cycles (cyclic queries). Cyclic queries have not been handled in the previous graphical query languages because of their complexity and ambiguity in devising appropriate graphical notations. GOQL also provides a graphical notation for inheritance hierarchy. Since OGQL has been implemented in Java and JDBC standard interface, users can access the remote databases in a web environment and the system has platform-independent architecture.

Detailed survey of the rock mass is essential for design, construction and maintenance of rock slope. However, geological survey of poor outcrops and various geophysical aids provides limited information for slope engineering. Remote measurement system for excavation surface (Surface Mapper) and projection s/w for borehole data (Fracjection) are developed for further support of slope surveying. The Surface Mapper measures orientation of joint, fault, foliation on excavated rock surface and database the measured data. The Fracjection projects measurements in boreholes, which are obtained by BIPS, Televideo and DOM operation, to any expected excavation space. These methods promise new approaches for surveying, designing, constructing and maintaining processes of slope.

컴퓨터 보급의 급속한 발전과 멀티미디어의 등장으로 기존의 텍스트와 이미지, 음성, 오디오, 동영상 등의 정보를 디지털화하고, 컴퓨터를 이용하여 저장, 처리, 전송하게 되면서 의료 분야에서도 상당한 업무의 변화를 요구하게 되었다. 의료 분야에서의 이러한 급격한 개방과 더불어 초고속 정보 통신의 발달은 원격진료라는 또 다른 요구를 대두시키고 있다. 이를 위해서는, 멀티미디어 기술, 대용량의 정보를 저장하는 데이터베이스 기술, 초속의 광 대역 기술 등을 통합하여 종합적인 멀티미디어 의료 정보 시스템을 구축하는 것이 시급하다. 이러한 이유들로 본 논문에서는 병원/의원의 의료진들로 하여금 의료영상이나 자료를 상호 전송하여 환자의 진료 또는 검진결과를 확인하고 전문가의 조언 등을 구하는 원격 진료용 의료영상 시스템의 요구사항을 분석, 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 클라이언트/서버 구조로써 영상 획득 및 출력, 의료영상 국제 표준 포맷인 DICOM 포맷으로의 영상 저장, MCA(Multi Channel Analyzer), ROI(Region Of Interest) 등의 영상 분석, 필터링 및 영상 확대/축소/회전 등의 각종 영상 처리의 주요 기능을 갖으며, 사용자가 편리하고 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 아이콘(icon) 중심의 직관적인 인터페이스를 갖는다.

Caching in meta-search engines can improve the response time of users' request. We describe the cache scheme in our meta-search engine in terms of its architecture and operational flow. In particular, we propose a popularity-driven cache algorithm that utilizes popularities of queries to determine cached data to be purged. The popularity is a value that represents the normalized occurrence frequency of user queries. This paper presents how to collect popular queries and how to calculate query popularities. An empirical performance evaluation of the popularity-driven caching with the traditional schemes (i.e., least recently used (LRU) and least frequently used (LFU)) has been carried out on a collection of real data. In almost all cases, the proposed replacement policy outperforms LRU and LFU.

네트워크의 광역화와 새로운 공격 유형의 발생으로 침입 탐지 시스템에서 새로운 시퀀스의 추가나 침입탐지 모델 구축의 수동적인 접근부분이 문제가 되고 있다. 특히 기존의 침입탐지 시스템들은 대량의 네트워크 하부구조를 가진 네트워크 정보를 수집 및 분석하는데 있어 각각 전담 시스템들이 담당하고 있다. 따라서 침입탐지 시스템에서 증가하는 많은 양의 감사데이터를 분석하여 다양한 공격 유형들에 대해서 능동적으로 대처할 수 있도록 하는 것이 필요하다. 최근, 침입 탐지 시스템에 데이터 마이닝 기법을 적용하여 능동적인 침입탐지시스템을 구축하고자 하는 연구들이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 대량의 감사 데이터를 정확하고 효율적으로 분석하기 위한 마이닝 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 감사데이터는 트랜잭션데이터베이스와는 다른 특성을 가지는 데이터이므로 이를 고려한 마이닝 시스템을 설계하였다. 구현된 마이닝 시스템은 연관규칙 기법을 이용하여 감사데이터 속성간의 연관성을 탐사하고, 빈발 에피소드 기법을 적용하여 주어진 시간 내에서 상호 연관성 있게 발생한 이벤트들을 모음으로써 연속적인 시간간격 내에서 빈번하게 발생하는 사건들의 발견과 알려진 사건에서 시퀀스의 행동을 예측하거나 기술할 수 있는 규칙을 생성한 수 있다. 감사데이터의 마이닝 결과 생성된 규칙들은 능동적인 보안정책을 구축하는데 활용필 수 있다. 또한 데이터양의 감소로 침입 탐지시간을 최소화하는데도 기여한 것이다.

In this paper, we design and implement a network weather map system, which provides a macroscopic view on the whole network topology as well as the network link status and utilization. The proposed system also provides distributed NetFlow-based database facility and Web-based query interface, through which network operators can check the detailed network router or link status as well as submit predefined queries to easily find out and locate heavy hitters and/or their usage. We believe that our develop system will be a useful tool for small-to-mid-scale ISPs or network operators, in managing their own networks in a cost-effective way.

As network and multimedia service has increased in educational environment, it is needed to study on digital system based educational scenarios, especially in art and design departments in which visual educational materials mainly used. Therefore, this study was conducted with three objectives: first, developing components of design database and their classification system, second, developing contents of database for fundamental form education in design, and third, developing application method of database. According to these objectives, the secondary research was implemented into two directions; the analysis of classification categories of design, and the analysis of contents and process of fundamental form design education. From the secondary research, it was found that design database should have a flexible structure with flexible components as well as fixed components to include subjective and aesthetic assessment. In the end, the application methods and user interface system of design database was developed based on design educational scenarios.
