A Study on the Optimal Size of Dum in Professional (프로바둑에서 덤의 크기 관한 연구)

  • In playing Baduk, Black plays first and, thus, can control the pace of a game. Usually a player with black stones plays conservatively to maintain the advantage of playing first. The purpose of dum is to compensate for Black having the first move. Currently, 6.5-point dum is applied in Korea and Japan, while 8-point dum is applied in Taiwan and China. In this study we investigated whether the current size of dum(6.5 points) is optimal, by statistically analyzing and comparing the advantage of taking Black across two data sets with different dun rules. Under the 5.5-point handicap, Blacks won significantly more games than Whites, revealing the advantage of playing first. However, with 6.5-point dum, Black's advantage of playing first was not significant. In Conclusion, implications and future research areas are discussed.

  • 본 논문은 제품 공급자로부터 일정량의 덤이 제공되는 상황에서 퇴화성 제품의 경제적 주문량 결정에 대하여 연구한다. 공급자로부터 제공되는 덤의 크기는 주문량의 크기, 즉 거래단위에 따라 차별적으로 제공된다는 가정하에 최적주문 및 재고정책 결정을 위한 해법이 제시되며 예제를 통하여 덤의 크기에 따른 재고정책의 민감도를 계량적으로 분석한다.

Preparation of Monodispersed Silica-Rubitherm®Microparticles Using Membrane Emulsification and Their Latent Heat Properties (막유화법을 이용한 단분산성 실리카-루비덤® 마이크로 입자의 제조 및 잠열 특성)

  • Recently, the importance of energy saving and alternative energy is significantly increasing due to energy depletion and the phase change material (PCM) research for saving energy is also actively investigating. In this research, the membrane emulsification using SPG membrane was used to make various microencapsulated phase change material (MPCM) particles which were comprised of $Rubitherms^{(R)}$ (RT-21 and RT-24) core and silica coating. We investigated the pressure of the dispersion phase, the concentration of surfactant, and the ratio of $Rubitherm^{(R)}$ and silica to prepare various MPCM particles. The DSC and TGA were used to examine the heat stability and latent heat properties. Also, PSA, SEM, and optical microscopy were used to confirm the size of $Rubitherm^{(R)}$ particles and the thickness of silica shell. The average of particle size was $7-8{\mu}m$. And, FT-IR was also used to enforce the qualitative analysis. Finally, the MPCM particles obtained from membrane emulsification showed monodispersed size distribution and the heat stability and latent heat were kept up to 80% compared to pure $Rubitherm^{(R)}$. So, it can be effectively used for wallpaper, buildings and interior products for energy saving as PCMs.

The Best Sequence of Moves and the Size of Komi on a Very Small Go Board, using Monte-Carlo Tree Search (몬테카를로 트리탐색을 활용한 초소형 바둑에서의 최상의 수순과 덤의 크기)

  • Go is the most complex board game in which the computer can not search all possible moves using an exhaustive search to find the best one. Prior to AlphaGo, all powerful computer Go programs have used the Monte-Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) to overcome the difficulty in positional evaluation and the very large branching factor in a game tree. In this paper, we tried to find the best sequence of moves using an MCTS on a very small Go board. We found that a $2{\times}2$ Go game would be ended in a tie and the size of Komi should be 0 point; Meanwhile, in a $3{\times}3$ Go Black can always win the game and the size of Komi should be 9 points.

  • 최근 소프트웨어 결함이나 보안 취약점을 분석하고 발견하기 위해 퍼징(fuzzing)에 대한 연구가 활발하다. 퍼징은 무작위 입력 데이터를 대상 프로그램에 주입하여 그 결과를 관찰하면서 결함을 탐지하는 테스팅 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 웹 브라우저를 대상으로 기존의 '변이 기반의 덤 퍼징'(Mutation based Dumb Fuzzing) 방식과 '생성 기반의 지능적 퍼징'(Generation based Smart Fuzzing) 방식을 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 실험을 통해 기존의 퍼징 도구들의 성능을 측정하고 이를 바탕으로 브라우저 퍼징에서' 변이 기반의 덤 퍼징' 이 웹 브라우저의 결함 및 취약점 탐지에 더 효율적이라는 것을 보인다. 그리고 웹 브라우저를 대상으로 '변이 기반의 덤 퍼징' 방식을 적용할 때, 코드 실행 커버리지를 고려한 다수의 입력 템플릿 확보와 다수의 템플릿들에 대한 구성 요소들을 랜덤하게 섞어서 변이를 하는 효과적인 브라우저 퍼징 전략을 제안한다.

Analysis of Korean Baduk rating system and dum (한국기원 기사 랭킹과 덤에 관한 분석)

  • The current ranking system of the Korean Baduk Association is based on the Elo rating system, which is widely used in the field of chess. Despite the 6.5 point dum (penalty) as compensation for playing as White, many Baduk players still prefer to playing as Black due to Black's higher winning percentage. In this paper, we present the ranking of Baduk players based on the Bradley-Terry model and address the advantage of playing as Black. We compare the ranking from our model with rankings from the Korean Baduk Association.
