A Study on the Possibility of using BIM in Automated Building Code Checking for Egress and Anti-disaster Regulations for Large-scale Buildings (BIM을 이용한 초대형 건축물 방재 및 피난 관련 법규 자동검토 가능성 연구)

  • Recently, the trend has been for buildings to become larger and more sophisticated, and this has created safety issues. Because the buildings are big it takes lots of time to check building codes related to anti-disaster and safety manually, and there is the high possibility of making mistakes. Due to these problems, according to a study, 83% of architecture and construction workers believe that an automated code-checking system is needed. This study researches past automated code checking systems and research activity, and using Building Information Model (BIM) technology, determines the feasibility of developing a system to automatically check domestic codes related to egress and anti-disaster. This paper describes the necessity of an automated building code checking system and expected effects. It then reports whether the methods used in previous studies can be deployed in domestic building code checking and discusses problems and limitations. It also suggests an alternative approach. Although this study covers limited codes related to egress, we need to find out what is needed for automatic general code checking system and do further studies for that.

Relation between Cone Tip Resistance and Deformation Modulus of Cemented Sand (고결모래의 콘선단저항과 변형계수의 관계)

  • In this study, the cone tip resistances of cemented sand are measured by performing a series of miniature cone penetration tests in large calibration chamber, and the relations with constrained modulus, unconfined compressive strength, and shear strength of cemented sand are suggested. Experimental results show that both the cone tip resistance and constrained modulus of sand increase with increasing cementation effect as well as relative density and confining stress. However, it is observed that the relative density and confining stress have more significant influence on cone tip resistance than constrained modulus of cemented sand. Since the cone penetration into the ground induces the damage of cementation, the cone tip resistance can't properly reflect the cementation effect of sand. An analysis based on the constrained modulus shows that the measured cone tip resistance underestimates the deformation modulus of cemented sand by about $70{\sim}85%$. In addition, this study establishes various relationships among the above soil properties from the regression analysis.

  • In this study, the relations of cone tip resistances (qc) and DMT indices of cemented sand are analyzed from a series of calibration chamber tests. The experimental results show that, with increasing the cementation level, three DMT indices also increase. The CPT and DMT do not appear to properly reflect the cementation effect of sand, since the penetration induces the damage of cementation. Nevertheless, the DMT is more sensitive to deformation characteristics of cemented sand than CPT. It is also observed that the $E_D/q_c$ ratio of cemented sand is larger than that of uncemented sand. However, the $K_D-q_c/{\sigma}_v'$ relation is independant of cementation, unlike the result of previous study. In addition, this study evaluates the constrained modulus and cohesion intercept of cemented sand using the relation between cone resistance and dilatometer constrained modulus ($M_D$).

Heat of hydration characteristics on high-performance concrete for large dimensional tunnel linings (대단면 터널 라이닝 적용 고성능 콘크리트의 수화열 특성)

  • In this study, experiments of development and application of 50 MPa high-performance concrete are performed for large dimensional tunnel linings. In order to produce 50MPa high-performance concrete, eight optimal mixtures replacing with fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag up to 50 percent of type I Portland cement were selected then tests for mechanical properties and simple adiabatic temperature rise tests were carried out. And in order to assess the quantitative characteristics of heat of hydrations of developed mixtures, three mixtures that the type I Portland cement (OPC) and each one mixture of binary and ternary mixtures (BS30, F15S35) were reselected, then the adiabatic temperature rise tests and mock-up tests were performed. Consequently, the comparisons between the results of mock-up tests and finite element analysis can be enhanced the reliability of analyzing routines of thermal behaviours of the developed high-performance concrete.

Shrinkage Characteristics of 50MPa High-strength Concrete with Compositions of Cementitious Materials (결합재 구성에 따른 50MPa급 고강도 콘크리트의 수축 변형 특성)

  • This study forms part of a research project that was carried out on the development and application of high-strength concrete for large underground spaces. In order to develop 50MPa high-strength concrete, eight optimal mixtures with different portions of fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag were selected. For assessments of shrinkage characteristics, free shrinkage tests with prismatic specimens and shrinkage crack tests were performed. The compressive strength was more than 30MPa at 7days, and stable design strength was acquired at 28days. High-strength concrete containing blast furnace slag shows large autogenous shrinkage, while large shrinkage deformations and cracks will occur when mixtures are replaced with large volumes of cementitious materials. Hence, for these high-strength concrete mixtures, the curing conditions of initial ages that affect the reaction of hydration and drying effects need to be checked.

  • 현대사회가 발전 할수록 대량산업화와 도시화가 심화되어 건축물의 초고층화 및 대형화가 증가하고 있으며, 안전적인 건축물 보다는 건물 및 제조사업장의 시각적인 디자인에 치우쳐 화재하중이 높은 건축자재의 내 외장재 및 고급스러운 장식물을 사용함으로써 그 위험뿐 만 아니라 화재발생시 대규모 인명 및 재산상의 피해를 가져오게 된다. 그리고 제조사업장화재는 화재로 인한 직접적인 손실 즉 물적 손실은 물론 생산중단으로 인한 간접적인 손실은 실로 측정하기가 어렵다. 지금까지 발생한 제조사업장화재의 발화요인별 분석은 부주의, 전기적, 미상 순으로 인한 화재가 가장 많고 발화열원은 작동기기, 담뱃불(라이터), 마찰 전도 복사등이 주요 원인이 되고 있고 대형화제 취약시설로는 공장 및 창고로 나타나고 있다. 소방방재청의 통계자료를 살펴보면 2012년 화재 발생현황 중 발화요인에 대한 화재별 장소 건수를 검토 한 결과 비주거의 화재발생 16,009건 중 5,758건으로 (36%)부주의이고, 주거에도 화재발생 10,715건 중 5,560건으로 51.9%의 부주의로 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 제조사업장의 사소한 부주의로 발생하는 화재를 예방하기 위해서는 소방안전관리자의 처우개선과 기업활동규제완화의 겸직 허용을 재검토 하여야 하며, 소방안전관라자의 실무능력 강화를 위한 소방안전관리 실무교육과정을 이론적 교육 보다는 현장 실습위주로 할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해서는 소방안전관리자에 대한 법정 실무교육 횟수를 확대하여 현행 2년에 1회 에서 1년에 1회로 하고, 실무교육에 있어서도 우수송방안전관리 업체를 선정하여 화재예방에 대한 구체적인 업무를 활성화 하고, 문제 발생요소들을 분석하여 실습을 통한 소방안전관리자의 실무교육을 실시해야 할 것이다. 이러한 전문 소방안전관리자로 소방대상물의 소방교육 및 훈련을 성실히 수행 해야 할 것 이다. 한순간의 부주의로 인하여 화재가 발생하면 돌이킬 수 없는 수백명의 생명을 앗아가고, 수백억원대의 재산피해를 줄이기 위해서는 소방안전관리자의 역량을 넓히고 화재예방 업무를 최우선적으로 수행해야 할 것이다. 화재예방을 위해 소방안전관리자의 업무개선 및 전문교육을 활성화 하여 업무능력을 향상 시켜 화재발생시 초기진압에 신속하고 정확하게 대처해야 한다는 것이 전문적인 화재예방 대책 일 것이다.

A Study on Fire Facilities of Urbane Buildings (도시건축물의 소방시설에 관한 연구(I))

  • 우리나라는 1960년대의 경제개발계획에 따른 공업화 시축의 추진으로 산업의 발달과 경제성장은 인구를 도시로 집중시키면서 도시건축물은 대형화, 고층화, 과밀화 현상을 가져왔다. 한편, 국민생활의 향상과 산업활동의 다양화로 화재발생의 주요원인이 되는 전기, 가스, 유류등의 사용량이 해마다 늘어나고 있어 화재의 위험을 가중시키고 있다. 최근 10연간('81~'90) 전국에서 발생한 화재사고는 9만 5,154건이 발생하여 인명피해 1만1,117명, 재산피해 1,859억 2,200만원의 많은 손실을 가져 왔으며, 이 중에는 서울에서 발생한 화재가 3만6,089건으로 전체의 37.9%을 차지하고 있다. 화재가 발생할 경우 대형 참사를 방지하고 귀중한 인명피해는 물론 경제적 손실을 최저로 줄일 수 있는 소방시설을 도시건축물에 설치하여 이에 대비하는 것이 무엇보다 귀중한 일이다. 이는 화재예방 또는 발생 초기에 이를 감지, 통보하고 피난하며 소화활동에 이르는 모든 방재 및 소화를 위한 소방시설의 유용성을 최대로 발휘할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 서울특별시를 중심으로 도시건축물에 설치된 소방시설의 유지 관리 실태와 화재시 소방시설의 이용실태를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 이에 대한 개선방향을 제시하므로서 예방소방행정의 발전을 기하고저 하였으며, 그 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 제1장에서는 서론부분으로서 연구의 목적과 범위및 접근 방법을 서술하였고, 제2장에서는 도시소방행정의 특성 및 소방환경의 변화로 먼저 소방행정의 의의와 도시소방행정의 유형으로 예방소방과 진압소방 그리고 구급.구조업무등을 살피고. 도시소방환경변화에 따른 화재발생추세를 살펴 보았다. 제3장에서는 도시건축물에 설치하는 소방시설의 설치.유지 및 이용실태를 검사.분석하였다. '90년도 서울시내 소방서에서 실시한 소방대상물에 대한 소방검사와 방화관리자에 대한 설문조사를 실시하여 소방시설의 유지관리실태를 통계.분석한 결과, 소방시설이 양호한 소방대상물은 전체의 75.9%이며, 불량소방대상물은 24.1%로 나타났다. 그리고 화재가 발생한 소방검사대상물에 대한 화재현장 조사결과 화재시 소방시설을 사용한 소방대상물은 전체의 72.1%를 차지하고 있다. 제4장에서 는 소방시설의 문제점으로 \circled1 소방설비부실공사, \circled2 소방시설 유지관리능력부족, \circled3 소방검사제도 불합리등이며, 이에 대한 개선방향으로 \circled1 소방설비 시공자의 지도. 감독강화, \circled2 자체시설관리능력향상, \circled3 예방소방행정제도의 개선을 제시하였다. 제5장은 결론으로, 우리나라가 최근 경제성장과 산업의 발달로 도시건축물의 화재발생 위험이 가중되면서 이에 대한 소방안전대비책이 요구된다. 이에는 도시건축물에 방화시설과 소방시설을 완비하고, 그리고 자격있고 유능한 방화관리자 선임하여 자체 소방계획을 수립하여 시설점검, 정비와 유지관리를 철저히 한다면 어떠한 화재도 예방 또는 초기에 진압할 수 있고, 또한 입주검자에 대한 소방교육 및 훈련을 지속적으로 수행하여 나간다면 여하한 도시건축물의 소방안전도 그 목적을 달성하리라고 생각한다.

Earth pressures acting on vertical circular shafts considering arching effects in c-$\phi$ soils : II. Lab. Model Tests (c-$\phi$ 지반에서의 아칭현상을 고려한 원형수직터널 토압 : II. 실내 모형실험)

  • The earth pressure acting on the vertical shaft is less than that acting on the retaining wall due to three dimensional arching effect. Thus, it might be essential to estimate the earth pressure actually acting on the shaft when designing the vertical shaft. In this paper, large-sized model tests were conducted as Part II of companion papers to verify the newly suggested earth pressure equation proposed by Kim et al. (2009: Part I of companion papers) that can be used when designing the vertical shaft in cohesionless soils as well as in c-$\phi$ soils and multi-layered soils. The newly developed model test apparatus was designed to be able to simulate staged shaft excavation. Model tests were performed by varying the radius of vertical shaft in dry soil. Moreover, tests on c-$\phi$ soils and on multi-layered soils were also performed; in order to induce apparent cohesion to the cohesionless soil, we add some water to the dry soil to make the soil partially-saturated before depositing by raining method. Experimental results showed a load transfer from excavated ground to non-excavated zone below dredging level due to arching effect when simulating staged excavation. It was also found that measured earth pressure was far smaller than estimated if excavation is done at once; the final earth pressure measured after performing staged excavation was larger and matched with that estimated from the newly proposed equation. Measured results in c-$\phi$ soils and in multi-layered soils showed reduction in earth pressures due to apparent cohesion effect and showed good matches with analytical results.

A Study on the Development of a BIM-based Spatial Planning Simulation System for Architectural Planning Stage Support (건축기획단계 지원을 위한 BIM 기반 공간계획 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The planning stage of an architectural project has much more significant effects on the cost or outcome of the project than other stages of the project. In addition, the importance of architectural planning has been further increasing according to the recent trend of construction projects becoming larger in scale and more complex. In spite of this, the current situation is that the planning stage work is not being systematically managed. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to develop a BIM-based simulation system for providing support during architectural planning stage such as spatial planning & review, cost review, project owner requirements management, etc. It is easy to review various alternatives using this system that allows not only the modeling of space object modeling but also the instantaneous review of spatial area & layout, cost, etc. based on object information. In addition, it can be used as a communication tool with the project owner as it provides the visualized information and quantitative data of the building model, and the information created through this system can be delivered to the following stage for usage. It is thought that using this system, the entire project work including the architectural planning stage can be supported and even contributing to the advancement of architectural process.

Analysis on Research Trends and Proposal for Standardization of Construction & Architectural Terms in Korea (국내 건설·건축용어 연구의 동향 분석 및 표준화 제안)

  • As the construction industry becomes bigger and more complicated, standardization of terms should be established between academic and industrial fields in order to accumulate and share information technology. The aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the research trends and actual usage of construction and architectural terms in Korea. For this purpose, we examined research related to construction and architectural terms by searching RISS up to August 2014. We also analyzed document types and contents of research by year. As a result, 130 research studies related to construction and architectural terms were searched. Of document types, glossary ranks the highest, followed by academic journal papers, master's theses and research reports. Research related to construction and architectural terms began in 1939, and was actively studied between the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. Within the research, list and opinion of related construction and architectural terms are found the most frequently, followed by standardization, analysis, alteration, dictionary and wordbook, and search system of terms. Despite these efforts and research, standardization of terms has not yet been consolidated between academic and industrial fields. Therefor, we suggest six proposals in order to standardize the terms. This study is an attempt to see the trends and conditions of construction and architectural terms and to provide base-line data and an insight for future research.
