A Study for Home Economics Teachers' Recognition on Home Economics Education in Secondary Schools (중.고등학교 가정과 교육에 대한 가정과 교사의 의식)

  • The main purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of secondary Home Economics education curriculum and program by investigating the recognition perceived by Home Economics teachers. We have done statistical analyses of 237 questionnaires on the Home Economics teachers' recognition. The results are as follows: 1) The respondents evaluated the necessity of Home Economics education in secondary school, application of aquired knowledge and technical skill and learning by practical experience, highly. 2) As for the contents of Home Economics education curriculum, the respondents place a high value on the field of Meal Management, Child and Family Studies, Home resourse Management and Consumer life, Clothing Management, and House Planning and Management, in the order. 3) The most important educational concepts are knowledges and understanding for the human beings.

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the market-labor participation of married women and their demand for an additional child, The theories from 'Economics of Fertility' by Willis and Bekerian 'Household Production Model' were applied to develop the theoretical model. For the empirical analysis National Data for Fetility in Korea was used, Even though the model was fully developed based on economic theories only the pasychological or value-related variables were appeared to be statistically significant. That means in Korea the decision-making for market work and fertility are still following the traditional way as it is.

The Actual Condition of Day Care Type and guilt in the employed Mothers (3세 이하 자녀를 둔 취업모의 탁아 실태와 탁아에 대한 죄책감)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the actual condition of day care type and guilt in employed mothers. The subjects consisted of 172 employed mothers who had children from 2 to 36 monthes of ages. The results showed that the actual conditions of day care type were mostly child care by relatives. Factors that were useful in predicting guilt of employed mothers were the following variables ; satisfaction of day care, change of caregiver, the value of children. Implications for knowledge as well as recommendations for future research are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is (1) to investigate the level of the consumer needs on a reform of administrative service and (2) to identify the influencing variables. For empirical analysis it used the data on 511 persons collected in the Chunju. The questionaire method was for data gathering. The major findings are as follows: (1) The level of consumer needs on a reform of administrative service is quite high and expecially the need on ' a government employee' is very high(2) It differed significantly according to age occupation attitude on adminstation attitude on consumerism and especially attitude on consumerism is most influencing variables.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual condition of labor during the marriage by estimating the total labor-time of husband and wife and to prove the contribution of labor-time to household. The statistical life-time research data of Bureau of Statistics were used to prove the overwork of wives compared with husbands during the marriage. The result of the study can help to prove the wife's contribution of labor-time to household.

A Study on Primary Children's Peer Victimization (초등학교 아동의 또래괴롭힘에 대한 연구)

  • This study assessed the degree to which children are subjected to victimize by peers using a peer nomination scale and self-report. The subjects were 122 children in the fourth through sixth grades. About 7% were identified as extremely victimized group. Age and gender were not related with victimization scores. The inter-item correlations and item-total correlations of the peer nomination were high. The correlation of victimization scores measured by peer nomination and self report was significant. Children's victimization scores were not correlated with their aggression scores, which means victimized children were not homeogenous.

A Survey on Perception and Purchase about marketed Kimchi of Housewives in Daegu area (시판김치에 대한 인식 및 구입실태에 관한 조사연구 -대구지역을 중심으로-)

  • This survey on marketed Kimchi was performed in 455 housewives living in daegu city area and investigated for marketablity and quality improvement of Kimchi. The results obtained as follows : 1. Subjects percepted marketed Kimchi as convenient and economical. 2. The proportion of subjects who has bought the marketed Kimchi products was 68.6%, some factors-ages, academic career, income, family system-were investigated. 3. Subjects bought the needed amount for 1-2days at hygienic store, by one's experiences and prefered Baechu-Kimchi 4. The most urgent improvement for the marketed Kimchi is it's standardization.

The Expectations of Mothers and Teachers Regarding Development of Three-Year-old Children (만 3세아 발달에 대한 어머니와 교사의 기대)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the expectations of mothers and teachers regarding development of three-year-old children and to analyze factors influencing the expectations. The results of this study showed that the mothers held higher expectations than the teachers regarding development of their children in all areas. Maternal expectations differed depending on the ages of the mothers and their children's birth order. Teaching experience with three-year-old children also made differences in the teacher's expectations. Implications to parent education and suggestions for future studies were provided.

  • This study constructed a family life education program designed to help dual-earner couples reduce their role strain. This program is consisted of 6 sessions aiming for understanding the multidimensional affecting factors of role strain, strengthening family system, sharing the housework, managing time effectively reducing the additional role and adjusing standard, maintaining desirable attitude on work and family. We expect this program to be helpful in reducing dual-earner families' role strain and the active using of role strain coping strategies.

Investigation of Consumers' Attitudes toward Product Liability (소비자의 제조물책임에 대한 태도)

  • This research explores the consumer perspective on several questions relating to product liability. The purpose of this study was (1) to assess consumers' attitudes level toward product liability, and (2) to identify respondents' socio-economic and consumer related variables that influence attitudes toward product liability. Data were collected from questionaires with 319 adults who were residents of Seoul. This paper presents the results of general agreement(2.59-3.58 by 4 point likert) concerning important issues related product liability. The attitudes toward product liability were significant partly according to education level, job, monthly family income, consumer education experience, the experience of reading journals, consumer information contact frequency and product safety orientation.
