Previous research has recently shown that non-cognitive factors such as attitudes toward statistics contribute positively to statistics learning, Hence, helping students develop positive attitudes toward statistics has become one of the essential goals of statistics teaching. A wide variety of instruments assessing attitudes toward statistics were developed and validated in foreign countries, but not many in Korea. The SATS-36(Survey of Attitudes Toward Statistics-36; Schau et al., 1995) has been regarded as one of the most valid measures of attitudes toward statistics. Therefore, this study was designed to validate a Korean version of Survey of Attitudes Toward Statistics(K-SATS). Instead of six factors of the original scale, a five-factor structure including interests, value, cognitive competence, difficulty, and effort was empirically supported by the Korean student sample. The results evidenced high reliability and construct validity of K-SATS. In addition, students' attitudes towards statistics differed across gender, level of statistics courses, degree programs, and major. These findings were discussed in terms of their implications for future research and statistics teaching.

This paper aims to identify the role of local governments in building regional innovation system. The central government has recently decided to support the promotion of innovation capacities of local innovators and innovation networks among thor The central government forces local governments to establish the council for regional innovation in order to implement these goals. Meanwhile, there is no consensus about the way in which the council for regional innovations constitute and operate. I think it is the time for us to talk about this seriously. It is widely conceived that local governments in Korea have still been hierarchical. Thus, they would be difficult to make the decision effectively on regional innovation and development initiatives. In this context, I suggest that the regional innovation promoting agency needs to take authorities to secure transparency and autonomy in planning, implementing, evaluating regional innovation initiatives. The local government no! ed to play a central role in establishing the agency. However, the local government should not try to intervene and control its operations.

The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the relationship among incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction to clinical practice experienced by nursing college students in clinical practice. A set of self-reported questionnaires, which included demographic characteristics, incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction to clinical practice, was completed by 160 nursing college students. Data was analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis by SPSS ver. 18.0. The mean age was 21.5 years. The mean scores, in Likert scales, were 1.18. 3.41, 2.48 and 3.30 out of 5 for items of incivility, burnout, coping, and satisfaction, respectively. According to our analysis, significant positive correlations were observed among incivility, burnout, and coping; significant negative correlations were observed between incivility and satisfaction, as well as between burnout and satisfaction. The predictors on satisfaction to clinical practice were coping, incivility, and burnout. Our model explained 26.6% (F=9.868, p<.001) of the variance. Based on the findings of this study related to main impediment, it is necessary to build prepared practice environments, such as interpersonal relations capacity empowerment and supporting system. Therefore, various nursing curricular programs are needed to promote satisfaction through multilateral collaboration with clinical practice among nursing college students.

This study examined the effects of stepwise education for operation patient care according to nursing satisfaction on the critical thinking disposition and clinical performance. The participants were 192 junior students who signed a consent form with an explanation of the study. Data were obtained from the students on the first day of junior's first semester and the last day of junior's first and second semester. Data analysis was performed using the number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi-square test, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA through the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. Results showed that nursing students with high nursing satisfaction had higher critical thinking disposition than those with lower nursing satisfaction (F=4.57, p=.012). There were no significant differences according to time (F=0.20, p=.821). The clinical performance was not significantly different according to nursing satisfaction (F=1.08, p=.343) and time (F=1.58, p=.210). This means that increasing nursing satisfaction would be a strategy for increasing the critical thinking disposition that was the core competency of nursing students.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of online practicum based on action learning on self-directed learning ability, academic self-efficacy, and cooperation ability of nursing students. Similar experimental study of single group pre-post test design was used to investigate the effects of this online class. A total of 47 nursing students who were junior grade from one college participated in this study and self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were analyzed by frequencies, paired t test using the SPSS/Window 21.0 program. The result of this study showed that the improvement after online practicum based on action learning was significant in self-directed learning ability(t=3.832, p<.001), academic self-efficacy(t=4.258, p<.001), and cooperation ability(t=3.853, p<.001). These findings imply the value of online practicum based on action learning to enhance competency of nursing students. In the future, more studies should be conducted in the same group including control group and blended learning method using action learning to validate the effectiveness.
The purpose of the study was to examine the vocational competency of students enrolled in vocational high schools including specialized vocational high school and meister vocational high school, and vocation program of general high school. We analyzed their vocational competency, based upon the vocational competency data of KCCI (Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry). The results were as follow. First, latent profiles of subjects were categorized into four folds: general cognition-low adaption, cognition adaption general, pursuit of job adaption, low cognition-job mal-adaption. Each percentage of four groups was 39%, 30%, 11%, and 20%. Second, mainly, specialized vocational high school pattern is matched with vocational high schools' pattern. However, the cognitive competency of students in meister vocational high school was higher than that of student in vocation program of general high school. Third, latent profile group was clarified in terms of non-cognition aspect. Fourth, The higher the job adaption is, the higher the career decision level. We suggested some policy implications for improve the vocational competency.

This research was explored the effects of the application of the team-based classes on the self-directed learning, the academic self-efficacy, and the level of learning satisfaction of the nursing students. Study subjects are 104 nursing students from one university from G region. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, paired t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients. With regard to the differences between the levels of the learning satisfaction, the differences were shown (t=4.410, p<.05). Regarding the self-directed learning, it rose to the average of 3.50 points after the application of the team-based learning from the average of 3.39 points. It showed a difference (t=-2.083, p=<.05). And the academic self-efficacy rose to 3.65 points from the 3.12 points after the application of the self-based learning. And it showed a difference (t=-14.175, p=<.001). The level of the learning satisfaction was shown to be over the middle with the average of 3.73 points. And the self-directed learning after the application of the team-based learning showed an academic self-efficacy (r=.512, p<.001), a level of the learning satisfaction (r=.421, p<.001), and a positive relationship. It was proven that the team-based learning can cultivate the capabilities for effectively solving the clinical problems.
This study aimed to develop a measure of professional identity for Korean dental hygienists and to analyze the factors and characteristics of professional identity of these dental hygienists. In this study, 890 dental hygienists completed a self-administered survey. The final analysis was conducted with a total of 880 responses, excluding 10 questionnaires with unreliable responses and partial responses. A systematic literature review was conducted to establish the definition of professional identity, while content validity, exploratory factor, confirmatory factor, and reliability analysis were conducted to establish the constructive factors. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and one-way ANOVA were used to identify the level of each factor. Authors conceptualized the professional identity for Korean dental hygienists and item generation, item reduction, and questionnaire formatting. The developed measure of professional identity for dental hygienists consisted of five factors, with 15 items. "Sense of calling," "need for academic capacity building," "performance of delegated authority," "compliance of code of ethics," and "usage of professional organizations" were the constituent factors. Based on these factors, the level of professional identity was the highest in the "performance of delegated authority" and lowest in the "usage of professional organizations." These finding indicated that dental hygienists with higher education levels have higher professional identity levels. The dental hygienists working at the general/university hospital had the highest level of professional identity. Thus, further research is needed to establish a model that consists of factors affecting and influencing the professional identity of dental hygienists.
The purpose of this study was to investigate correlations between entrepreneurial intention and entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial success. For that purpose, the study carried out a survey among the students of Graduate School of Business & Entrepreneurship, the students of small business start-up education, and general people and reviewed the previous studies and literature with a focus on the characteristics and capabilities of entrepreneurial intention. The investigator identified the characteristic factors of entrepreneurial intention including entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial success, education, and mentor, set a research model and hypothesis for their relations with entrepreneurial success, and empirically analyzed and tested them. The empirical analysis results were summarized as follows: first, entrepreneurial methods and abilities of the variables of entrepreneurial intention turned out to have significant impacts on entrepreneurial success. Second, corporation determination, external factor, and internal factor of the variables of entrepreneurship turned out to have significant effects on entrepreneurial success. Third, re-education after success turned out to be the most influential entrepreneurial education factor on entrepreneurial success, which points to a need for constant education after setting up a business. Fourth, practical entrepreneurial mentors had the greatest influences on entrepreneurial success, being followed by successful entrepreneurial mentors and socially successful mentors in the order. One can have a vision to see a further future of his or her business and promote its growth by forming relationships with those who have more knowledge about the line of business and richer experiences in the field. The subjects overwhelmingly had a positive personality, which suggests that those who try to start a business tend to be positive and considerate of others.
Many researchers conducted studies on the relationship between entrepreneur's characteristic, capability, strategy and performance of new venture. However, the development of scientific technique and the complexity of the business environment have stimulated entrepreneurial teams rather than individuals. Therefore, the necessity of theoretical and practical study on the effect of the characteristics of an entrepreneurial team on the new venture companies was suggested. Initial research on entrepreneurial team diversity has primarily addressed the impact of demographic diversity on performance. In order to verify the research model of this study, 287 delegates of new venture companies that participated in the projects at the 18 Centers for Creative Economy & Innovation in 17 regions of the country conducted validity and reliability test based on the questionnaire to which they answered. The result shows that only gender diversity among demographic diversity affected non-financial performance. Information diversity influenced career diversity on financial performance and diversity in education on non-financial performance. Also, the higher the previous sharing experience, the better the financial performance. Value diversity has negative effect on both financial and non-financial performance. Based on the results, theoretical and practical implications are derived. Also suggested are methodological limitations and future research directions.
