The Analysis of Classification Systems of Chojo Tripitaka Koreana and Chojo Print Held by Horim Museum (고려 초조대장경의 분류체계 및 <호림박물관> 소장 초조본의 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to establish the classification system of Chojo Tripitaka Koreana, and analyze the contents of its print held by Horim Museum. Major discussions included are as follows: First, the characteristics and significance of Chojo Tripitaka Koreana are examined. Second, based on Taejang Mongnok, which is the Bibliography of Tripitaka Koreana, the classification system of Chojo Tripitaka Koreana is established. Third, by closely examining 10 titles and 21 volumes of Chojo Print from the collection of Horim Museum, it is proved that its contents and sequences in scriptures of Chojo Print are the same as those of Taejang Mongnok and therefore the classification system in this research is adequately established. Fourth, it is found that in the Avatamska Sutra held by Horim Museum, five volumes of the Avatamska Sutra which originally consists of fifty volumes, are included. And it is also found that in Chaejo Tripitaka Koreana, the Avatamska Sutra, which consists of sixty volumes, were inserted in their place.

  • 대장내시경검사는 역사적으로 돌아보면 원래 히포크라테스의 치루치료과정에서 직장경 사용으로부터 유래되며 그 후 Kelly의 25 cm 표준 S상 결장경의 발견으로 진전되었고 조명 및 각종 부속기구들이 많이 개선되면서 직장암의 발견에 기여해 왔다. 1911년에 독일 뮌헨의 Michael Hoffman이라는 광학 기술자가 프리즘을 여러 개를 연결하면 직선이 아닌 곡선에서도 빛을 그대로 전달할 수 있다는 사실을 발견하였고 이를 기초로 하여 1958년에 미국에서 Hirschowitz가 처음으로 섬유경(fiberscope)을 선보였고 그 이후 이용한 상부소화관에 대한 내시경 기술이 급속히 발전하기 시작하였고, 이를 기초로 1969년부터 ACMI, Olympus, Fujinon, Pentax 등 세계 유수의 내시경 회사들이 대장내시경을 제작하기 시작하였다. 1983년에 미국의 Welch-Allyn사가 CCD(Charge Coupled Device)라는 집광 장치를 만들어서 마치 내시경의 눈과 같은 작용을 해서 이것을 내시경 선단에 장치하고 전파를 이용하여 영상을 전달하여 이 상이 TV 모니터에 비치는 것을 보게 되는 전자내시경을 개발하여 현재는 상부내시경 뿐 아니라 대장내시경도 대부분이 전자 내시경으로 대체되어서 오늘에 이르고 있다.

A Research on the Significance of the First Edition of Tripitaka Koreana (고려 초조대장경 조조의 가치와 의미에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research was to examine the significance of the first edition of Tripitaka Koreana. In this research, the following were done: 1) by clarifying the place and date of praying for the engraving of the first edition of Tripitaka Koreana, its significance as "Daejanggyeong" produced to expel the Kitan was more clearly explained; 2) its physical characteristics were examined to provide evidence of the artistic and creative features of its engravings, quite different from those of the Gaebo Tripitaka made in China; and 3) its structure was analyzed from a viewpoint of a systematic bibliography. It was found that since the first edition of Tripitaka Koreana contained all the earlier lists of Buddhistic scriptures in China(and individual scriptures were thoroughly examined and included into its content since the reign of King Munjong), it had a systematic bibliographical significance demonstrated by its comprehensive and cumulative nature.

  • This study is made of proofreading some documents about ‘Tripitaka Koreana’, which was unknown and not noticed quite well until now and is also for montemplating the features of ‘Qidanzang’ that were accepted in ‘Tripitaka’. By all the researches the following facts were found out. First, ‘Qidanzang’ included in ‘Tripitaka’ were all 18 cases. Second, ‘Qidanzang’ that were corrected and accepted into ‘Tripitaka’ were 42cases. Third, ‘Qidanzang’ that have errors at comparing documents were all 11cases. Fourth the sutra that were accepted in the comparative book were all 57 cases. Fifth, unaccepted sutras , which were found out at comparative documents, were 4cases. At last, from the analysis abouve, we notice that most of the ‘Qidanzang’, not part of it, were accepted into ‘Tripitaka Koreana’ and like the previous viewpoint, ‘Qidanzang’ was an excellent book but it also had a few mistakes.

Relationship of Colorectal Polyps and Fatty Liver Disease Diagnosed by Ultrasonography (초음파로 진단된 지방간 질환과 대장 용종과의 연관성)

  • This study proposes a more comprehensive approach for FLD by analyzing the relationship of colorectal polyps, which are precursors of colorectal cancer. In Chi-Square tests of FLD and colorectal polyps, the prevalence of colorectal polyps was significantly high in cases of FLD. The polyps and correlation of each factor showed a positive relationship with all factors, and the correlation coefficient with FLD was highest (r = 0.39, p <.001). In multiple regression analysis, FLD(OR 3.80 95% CI 1.93.-7.50), FBS (OR 2.51; 95% CI 1.12-5.62), and older age (OR 2.12; 95% CI 1.27-3.54) were independent risk factors for colorectal polyps. FLD was associated with the prevalence of colorectal polyps. These results show a meaningful influenceof FLD by ultrasonography in the occurrence of colorectal polyps, and that positive consideration of colonoscopy is needed for diagnosed FLD.

  • The writer of this study analyzed the traces that are made by revising and replenishing after finishing engraving of Chojodaejanggyeong into the Vol.60 Abstract of Tripitaka Koreans 周本 Hwayemgyeong. It can be a clue that proves the revising of Chojodaejanggyeong was considerably complete.

A Fast Flight-path Generation Algorithm for Virtual Colonoscopy System (가상 대장 내시경 시스템을 위한 고속 경로 생성 알고리즘)

  • Virtual colonoscopy is a non-invasive computerized procedure to detect polyps by examining the colon from a CT data set. To fly through the inside of colons. the extraction of a suitable flight-path is necessary to Provide the viewpoint and view direction of a virtual camera. However. manual path extraction by Picking Points is a very time-consuming and difficult task due 1,c, the long and complex shape of colon. Also, existing automatic methods are computationally complex. and tend to generate an improper and/or discontinuous path for complicated regions. In this paper, we propose a fast flight-path generation algorithm using the distance and order maps. The order map Provides all Possible directions of a path. The distance map assigns the Euclidean distance value from each inside voxel to the nearest background voxel. By jointly using these two maps. we can obtain a proper centerline regardless of thickness and curvature of an object. Also, we Propose a simple smoothing technique that guarantees not to collide with the surface of an object. The phantom and real colon data are used for experiments. Experimental results show that for a set of human colon data, the proposed algorithm can provide a smoothened and connected flight-path within a minute on an 800MHz PC. And it is proved that the obtained flight-Path provides successive volume-rendered images satisfactory for virtual navigation.

The Role of Colonoscopy in Children with Hematochezia (소아 선혈변에서 대장 내시경 검사의 역할)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the role of colonoscopy in children with hematochezia. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 277 children who underwent colonoscopy because of hematochezia between January, 2003 and July, 2010. Results: The mean age of the patients was $6.0{\pm}4.4$ (7 days~17.8 years) years. The male to female ratio was 2.2:1. The duration between the 1st episode of hematochezia and colonoscopy was $4.9{\pm}12.1$ months. Characteristics of hematochezia included red stool (65.1%), blood on wipe (12.8%), bloody toilet (11.9%), and blood dripping (10.2%). The most proximal region of colonoscopic approach was terminal ileum (84.5%), cecum (9.5%), hepatic flexure (2.8%), and splenic flexure (3.2%). Eighty five patients (30.6%) had no specific abnormal findings. Major causes of hematochezia were polyp (26.4%), food protein induced proctocolitis (6.9%), infectious colitis (5.4%), lymphofolliculitis (5.7%), non specific colitis (5.7%), and vascular ectasia (5.1%). The hemorrhagic sites included the rectum (24.0%), rectosigmoid junction (18.1%), sigmoid colon (13.5%), ascending colon (14.2%), transverse colon (11.3%), descending colon (7.8%), cecum (8.1%), and terminal ileum (3.1%). The recurrence rate of hematochezia after colonoscopy was 19.1%. Colonoscopy was performed in 262 patients (94.6%) with conscious sedation. Endoscopic hemostasis was performed in 5 patients. Complications of colonoscopy or sedation were not found. Conclusion: The causes and lesional localization of pediatric hematochezia were diverse. Colonoscopy has an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of hematochezia in children. Total colonoscopy is recommended to detect the cause of hematochezia.
