The basis equipment of KOSC(Electric power, Network, Security) has been constructed in 2007. KOSC is being constructed data processing and management system, GOCI L-band reception system, etc. The final object of KOSC is that maximize the application of GOCI.

The LTE system decided to build an integrated disaster safety communication network in order to cope with disasters quickly after the April 16, 2014 disaster, and 333 agencies in 8 areas will build a unified disaster safety communication network. It plans to integrate LTE-R, a railway integrated wireless network, and LTE-M, a land-based communication network, in the 700MHz band. LTE-R, a wireless integrated network, and the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, are currently using VHF and TRS, which are voice communication-oriented communication systems, in order to cope with demand for high-speed railway service, With this possible LTE-R, it is possible to provide advanced services such as radio-based train control and improve railway safety. The company plans to invest KRW 1.1 trillion in new routes to be launched in 2018 and the existing route to be improved in the future, and to build up all routes of general and high-speed railways to LTE-R by 2027.

The USB flash drive is common used for portable storage. That is able to store large data and transfer data quickly and carry simply. But when you lose your USB flash drive without any security function in use, all stored data will be exposed. So the new USB flash drive supported security function was invented to compensate for the problem. In this paper, we analyze vulnerability of 6 control access program for secure USB flash drives. And we show that exposed password on communication between secure USB flash drive and PC. Also we show the vulnerability of misapplication for initialization. Further we develop a protection profile for secure USB flash drive based on the common criteria version 3.1. Finally, we examine possible threat of 6 secure USB flash drives and supports of security objectives which derived from protection profile.

Reducing handoff latency is essential in providing seamless multimedia service in Wireless LAN based on the IEEE 802.11 standard. Reducing authentication delay is critical in reducing handoff latency. To this end, several authentication protocols for fBst handoff have been proposed. Mishra et al. used proactive key distribution to improve the authentication delay incurred in the current standard and Park et al. proposed a new authentication protocol based on Blom's key pre-distribution scheme. In this paper, we propose an enhanced authentication protocol based on Bresson et al.'s group key protocol. If a mobile node has previously access the network, our proposed protocol only requires simple hash operations in providing mutual authentication between a mobile node and access points. Our protocol is more efficient than Park et al.'s and Mishra et al.'s technique can be used in our protocol to further enhance our protocol.

The Army is making efforts to increase combat power by incorporating technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution into the field of defense. In order to utilize these technologies, it is necessary to develop a military tactical communication system that enables transmission and reception of data between command and control system and weapon systems. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the tactical communication systems of the other countries, derive the limitations of the tactical communication system currently operating in the military. And, a multi-layered integrated operation structure centered on satellites and plans to provide communication on the move to small units are reviewed. Then, we present the necessity of a large-capacity transmission speed by predicting the amount of data that will be generated from weapon systems of the future, and a plan to efficiently manage the network using intelligent network technology.
Ultrafast ultrasound imaging has been applied to various imaging approaches, including shear wave elastography, ultrafast Doppler, and super-resolution imaging. However, these methods are still challenging in real-time implementation for three Dimension (3D) or portable applications because of their massive data rate required. In this paper, we proposed an adaptive quantization method that effectively reduces the data rate of large Radio Frequency (RF) data. In soft tissue, ultrasound backscatter signals require a high dynamic range, and thus typical quantization used in the current systems uses the quantization level of 10 bits to 14 bits. To alleviate the quantization level to expand the application of ultrafast ultrasound imaging, this study proposed a depth-sectional quantization approach that reduces the quantization errors. For quantitative evaluation, Field II simulations, phantom experiments, and in vivo imaging were conducted and CNR, spatial resolution, and SSIM values were compared with the proposed method and fixed quantization method. We demonstrated that our proposed method is capable of effectively reducing the quantization level down to 3-bit while minimizing the image quality degradation.
This paper is on the research result for analyzing the performance of GLORY(GLobal Resource management sYstem) used for Web Server Cluster system, which was developed at ETRI(Electronic and Telecommunication Research Institute). The paper includes the definition of Web Server Cluster System, the characteristics of the system, user oriented system performance, current performance enhancement methods, computer simulation model for GLORY and its experimental results for the performance of GLORY. GLORY is composed of 2048~1,000,000 units of PCs, and is used for Internet servers. From the results of the simulation experiments, we notice that GLORY has enough capacity to fully serve the appropriate level of Internet services. Also, the results show that Web server service time is longer than that for network transmission time but requires more DNS than expected, and that 100Mbps LAN is good enough for directly connecting Internet to the Web servers while not affecting the total system performance.
We proposed a flexible link configuration in a system combining mid-span spectral inversion (MSSI) and dispersion management used for long-distance transmission of high-capacity optical signals such as wavelength division multiplexing signals, and examined specific methods to increase chromatic dispersion and nonlinear distortion compensation effects. The dispersion map proposed to increase the flexibility of dispersion-managed link configuration has a 'random-inverse' structure. That is, in the proposed dispersion map, the residual dispersion per span (RDPS) of each fiber span in the first half section up to the optical phase conjugator is randomly distributed, and the RDPS distribution in the second half section reverses the distribution pattern of the first section. Although the proposed dispersion map has a random distribution of RDPS, it was confirmed that the distortion compensation effect is improved due to the fact that the dispersion profile is symmetrical with respect to the optical phase conjugator. In the dispersion map of the 'random-inverse' configuration, it was also confirmed that the compensation effect of the distorted wavelength division multiplexing signal becomes improved when the magnitude of the RDPS allocated to each fiber span is large.
A Science DeMilitarized Zone (DMZ) is an optimized network technology tailored to research data nature. The Science DMZ guarantees end-to-end network performance by forming a closed research network without redundant networking and security devices for the authorized researchers. Data Transfer Node (DTN) is an essential component for the high performance and security of the Science DMZ, since only transfer functions of research data are allowed to the DTN without any security- and performance-threatening functions such as commercial internet service. Current Science DMZ requires per-user DTN server installation which turns out a scalability limitation of the networks in terms of management overhead, entry barrier of the user, and networks-wise CAPEX. In order to relax the aforementioned scalability issues, this paper suggests a centralized DTN design where end users in a group can share the centralized DTN. We evaluate the effectiveness of the suggested sharable DTN design by comparing CAPEX against to that of current design with respect to the diverse network load and the state-of-the-art computing machine.
The ROK Army is promoting cutting-edge, future-oriented military development such as a mobile, intelligent, and hyper-connected Army TIGER system. The future infantry brigade plans to increase mobility with squad-level tactical vehicles to enable combat in multi-domain operations and to deploy various weapon systems such as surveillance and reconnaissance drones. In addition, it will be developed into an intelligent unit that transmits and receives data collected through the weapon system through a hyper-connected network. Accordingly, the future infantry brigade will transmit and receive more data. However, the Army's tactical information communication system has limitations in operating as a tactical communication system for future units, such as low transmission speed and bandwidth and restrictions on communication support. Therefore, in this paper, the information distribution capability of the future infantry brigade is presented through the offensive operation scenario and M&S.
