Survey on the Current Status of Ecocentric Environmental Education in Korean Alternative Schools (대안학교의 생태중심주의 환경교육 실태 조사)

  • This study explored the current status of ecocentric environmental education in alternative schools. We analyzed the aims, curriculum, environmental activities of 42 alternative schools in Korea from their homepages and guidebooks. For more information, additional interviews with teachers were also conducted. As a resuts, the ratio of schools aiming ecologism were relatively low, however, 36 (85.7%) of 42 alternative schools included ecologism in their educational goals directly or indirectly. 39 schools included an environmental education in their curriculum, and 3 environmental class was opened in a week on the average. The most frequently used environmental activity in alternative schools was "recycling of solid wastes", and then "reducing use of disposable products", and "using environment-friendly, and recycled products" were followed. "Using water-purifier tank" and "using alternative energy" were also practiced. Educational implications of results were discussed.

대학등록금 인상 문제, 그 원인과 해결방안

  • 등록금 인상 문제를 둘러싼 갈등이 지속되고 있는 올해 각 정당과 교육단체들은 등록금 인상에 대한 정책적 대안을 제시하고 있다. 반복되는 등록금 인상의 악순환을 근절시키기 위해서는 보다 구체적이고 현실적인 대안이 요구된다. 우선 우리 정부와 국회에서 등록금 인상 억제방안의 입법화를 추진할 수 있어야 한다. 이와 함께 정부차원에서 교육예산 확보를 위한 구체적 방안을 수립해야 한다. 그리고 사학의 예·결산을 산출근거까지 상세히 공개하여 학교당국과 학생들 간에 상호 신뢰감을 든든히 해야 한다.

A study of the search for a good secondary science classes: a case study of the alternative school students ('좋은 중등 과학 수업'에 대한 탐색: 대안학교 학생의 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate secondary students' perception of a good secondary science classes. Subjects were 18 secondary students who enrolled in alternative school located in Korea. The instruments of this study was a questionnaire which consisted of 18 items on 4 domains. Also data were collected from in-deep interviews and students' drawing. The results of the study were summarized as follows; First, students explained that good schools have the characteristics of the interesting and respectful atmosphere. Also there are good relationships between teachers and students. Second, they emphasized that good teachers are humanistic teachers. Third, good science classes are based on the constructivism in terms of the education methods. The results suggest that it may be necessary to remodel the merits of the alternative schools to solve the problem of public school. It is important to develop expertise of the science teachers in alternative school through teacher education programs based on the constructivism. Also it is necessary to provide appropriate learning space and various media for effective science teaching and learning in alternative school.

  • Church education in Korean churches is facing a very serious crisis. This crisis is a negative perception of the church as viewed by the present society. The negative perception of the church has led to children, adolescents, young adults, and even adults leaving the church. There have been countless studies on the problem of Christian education and its alternatives. However, those problems still remain a matter of church education. The alternatives do not become viable and remain a problem. To solve these problems, a paradigm shift is required, and in order to overcome the crisis of the church, it is necessary to study alternatives and its method factors and find application points. Today's church education is absolutely influenced by postmodernism and informationalization. However, church education is education for Christian identity that transmits Christian faith. This Christian education is facing challenges and crises against its religious and academic identity. Christian education has a responsibility to be aware of this reality and to present alternatives to overcome various crises facing church education. Therefore, it is the task of church education to establish standards so that we can live a life where the Bible becomes the standard. In other words, it is to give them biblical faith. Furthermore, it is necessary to point out and understand Christian faith in the Korean church, which has been evaluated as insufficient. In addition, establishing a Christian worldview and realizing the Kingdom of God that practice justice and love in society are tasks that can be accomplished efficiently through Christian education. Therefore, the Korean church should actively seek ways to support the practice of Christian education as well as church education in forming ideal Christians which is the goal of Christian education.

우리나라 대학생의 창업인식 조사를 통한 창업교육 고도화 방안

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 대학의 도전적 창업문화 정착, 대학생의 창업역량 강화로 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 창업 확대에 필요한 창업교육 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 4차 산업혁명 시대 창업의 국가경제적 의의와 함께 대학생의 진로 대안으로서 주목받고 있지만 우리나라 대학생의 창업인식은 낮은 수준에 머물고 있다. 대학생의 창업아이템이 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖출 만큼의 창의성이 뒷받침된 기술기반 창업과는 거리가 먼 경우가 많다. 최근 정부 및 대학에서 창업의 중요성을 인식하고 다양한 지원정책과 교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 그러나 창업문화 확산을 통한 창업도전의 저변 확대, 시장과 산업 트랜드를 바꿀만큼의 시장 전환적이며, 창조적 파괴가 동반된 창업을 활성화하는 데에는 부족함이 많다. 이에 본 연구는 H대학교 신입생 1,092명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 대학생 창업인식을 분석하고 대학의 창업교육 고도화를 위한 유의한 사실을 발견하였다. 실태조사 결과를 이용하여 본 연구는 다음과 같은 창업교육 고도화 방안을 제시하였는데. 첫째, 생애주기적 진로대안으로서 창업의 의의 인식, 둘째, 학생의 개인적 특성에 기초한 맞춤형 창업교육 프로그램의 개발 운영, 셋째, 창업 전문성을 갖추면서 동시에 교육자로서의 역량을 갖춘 대학 내 외부 전문가들을 네트워킹하여 이론-실무의 우수한 창업 교육자 풀 구성 넷째, 효과적 창업교육 전략 및 프로그램 개발과 실행을 위한 구체적 대안으로 창업교육 목적의 명확화, 교육목적에 부합하는 실천적 교육 콘텐츠 개발 및 국내외 우수 창업교육 콘텐츠의 적극적 활용, 창의적 문제해결 능력 강화를 위하여 교육학적으로 효과적인 방법의 모색 등을 제시하였다.

Study on Teaching Alternative Algorithms of Addition and Subtraction (덧셈과 뺄셈의 대안적 계산방법 지도에 대한 연구)

  • Many researchers have supported in various aspects that elementary students should experience alternative algorithms as well as formal standard one for addition and subtraction. Korean elementary mathematics textbooks have some units for alternative algorithms for addition and subtraction. In special, the change of unit sequence in the second grade revised mathematics textbooks may cause the necessity for discussion about teaching sequence and teaching purpose between alternative algorithms and formal standard one. Therefore, this study aims to consider the purpose of teaching alternative algorithms and to induce implications for their teaching strategies and sequence. To do this, related references, curriculum and textbooks were analyzed. Four lessons were observed and three teachers were interviewed. The main content of this study is the result of analysis on students' activities and teachers'teaching approaches. This study also includes didactical implications based on the result.
