Exploratory Study on the Influence on Family Involvement on Corporate Innovation Performance (가족의 경영참여 수준이 기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • Prior studies have reported equivocal patterns of the results about the relationships between family involvement and firm performance, particularly financial performance. In line with this research trend, this study focuses on non-financial performance that agency costs may marginally influence. tries to identify the relationship between nepotism and the three types of innovation performance, namely corporate entrepreneurship, radical innovation performance, and incremental innovation performance. The results has shown that family involvement is positively correlated with the three types of innovation performance.

Number of Job Offers and Satisfaction (첫 일자리 제안과 직업만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study empirically investigates the possible negative relationship between the number of job offers and the job satisfaction in the Korean labor market, using the Korea Labor Income Panel Study, where the number of job offers of young workers are collected in the third wave. Results show that the number of job offers is negatively related to every year job satisfaction, this effect is smaller for higher earning and older individuals, and there is a gender heterogeneity. We discuss that having more job offers does not necessarily increase the workers' utility, which is a general monotonic assumption in the traditional economics. We suggest that having a large number of job offers allowing them to choose the best option can be inefficient itself, and therefore it is better to focus on qualitative matching rather than increasing just the absolute number of job opportunities.

Interdependence of Corporate Governance Mechanisms and Managers' incentive-compensation system (기업 지배구조 통제장치와경영자 유인보상제도의 상호관련성)

  • This study confirms that there is a correlation between managers' incentive-compensation system(introduction of the compensation committee) and corporate governance mechanisms (ownership structure, proportion of outside directors, debt ratio, competitive strength), and analyzes whether firm value is affected by corporate governance mechanisms. The purpose of this paper are empirically tested using 318 firm-year data listed on the KRX from 2001 to 2010 and 2SLS(two-stage least square method) were used for the analysis of the hypotheses. The results of empirical tests are as follows. Firstly, there is no correlation between introduction of the compensation committee and corporate governance mechanisms. In addition, the results show that there is a causal relationship between some variables. Secondly, results from the analysis of the impact of corporate governance mechanisms on firm value, only introduction of the compensation committee and foreign investors ownership were analyzed as a positive impact on the firm value. This result means that most domestic firm don't actively used for managers' incentive-compensation system as a useful control device for improving corporate governance.

Automated Selection System of Examination Questions in Web-Based Instruction (웹기반교육에서의 자동 문제 출제 시스템)

  • Internet has been applied to the educational field such as data search, lecture by motion picture, realtime examination. Most questions made for these remote examinations use methods of making questions randomly using fixed questions or item pools. The designed system in this paper makes questions without knowing MARK-UP language and after undergoing examinations on Web. Also it readjusts degree of difficulty automatically on the basis of the rate of correct answers. In addition, this enables learners to perform feedback learning after examinations and subsequently learners themselves to adjust their degree of difficulty and undergo reexaminations. The automatic selection system makes it easy to select questions, possible to expect average marks and number of questions made, and to prevent that questions may be made too easy or too hard. For a remote examination, as there are much possibilities of dishonesty such as examination by proxy so different types of problems are made, and problems of the rationality caused from that can be avoided.

Blockchain E-voting System and Governance: The Case of Korean National Pension Service (블록체인 기술을 활용한 전자투표시스템과 지배구조: 국민연금 사례를 중심으로)

  • Blockchain technology prevents tampering of central authorities that manage voting process, enhancing trust in the vote results. This technology enables citizens to participate more directly in the areas where delegation was inevitable due to the difficulties in polling fair and trustworthy public opinions. There are many projects around the world proposing to implement voting system for public decision making using blockchain technology. The blockchain voting system is expected to work as a transparent and fair channel for polling public opinions, which will transform the public decision-making process and governance. Korean National Pension Service (NPS) recently introduced stewardship code to better represent the interest of beneficiaries. However, because of the mistrust in governance of NPS, introduction of stewardship code is facing criticism for potential misuse of their voting rights against the interest of beneficiaries and for government's interference with corporate management. This study proposes a voting system applying blockchain technology for polling the opinions of National Pension Fund's beneficiaries to support public decision-making, and discusses social and institutional conditions for implementation of the proposed system.

The Study on Takaful in Islamic Countries (이슬람국가의 타카풀보험(Takaful) 연구)

  • A classical commercial insurance, which is used widely as the risk management methods for risk transferring and risk financing, includes the factors of interests, gambling and uncertainty, In 1985 Islamic Fiqc Academy declared that the classical commercial insurance violates the Islamic fundamental principles and beliefs, alteratively recommending a mutual insurance and takaful. A basic principle of takaful is the mutual aid in the Islamic community. On the basis of mutual aid, takaful participants (insurance policyholder) establishes the takaful fund, which is cooperation fund by participant contribution. Takaful fund is separated from shareholders' fund, and the profit and loss of takaful fund are responsible for takaful policyholder. Ownership and operation right of takaful belong to the takaful participants. In takaful, takaful company takes a role of agent or management operator. Comparing to the classical insurance, takaful has the rights of profit dividend, voting of executives, access to accounting books etc. which are additional favors for business company or individuals as takaful participants. Business companies and individuals should consider to use takaful to transfer risk and to enjoy takaful's additional advantages.

Design of Knowledge Information Transfer Method in Groups (집단 내의 지식 정보 전수 방법의 설계)

  • Recently, various methods derived from the experiences and the practices to manage knowledge have been proposed. However, the effects of the most of those methods have not been demonstrated quantitatively, but only the successful cases reported. In this paper, a method for knowledge transfer in a group is proposed to evaluate the effect of knowledge management and to express a shape that knowledge is transferred in the group by the multi-agent simulation. Simulation results show that the performance of the entire group is improved by introducing a knowledge database and a knowledge manager. In addition, the experience knowledge of the entire group is shown to be lost by reviewing results of the social issues by the proposed method. As a countermeasure for that, it was confirmed that the introduction of the knowledge database and the knowledge manager is more effective than those of an extension of the retirement age and of an increase of the intermediate recruitment.

The Immersion Factors and Characteristics of Youtube Channels for Generation Z (Z세대가 즐기는 유튜브 채널의 몰입 요인과 특징)

  • Generation Z(Gen Z), which is referred to people in their late teens to early 20s, becomes one of new major consumer groups in the society. More than 80 percent Gen Z use YouTube content as a main information channel. In this study, we investigate what kind of factors make Gen Z immersed when watching YouTube content. In the background study, we examined immersion and set the cognitive conditions of immersion as reality, fascination, control, and driving as a framework for analysis of case study. In the case study, we analyzed the most popular YouTube channels of each category among the Gen Z with the established framework and then identified 3 main factors: reality, 5 senses, and unpretentiousness and 8 characteristics of them. By conducting survey with Gen Z, we wanted to verify the validity of the characteristics and find out the difference among categories. Subjects answered on a five-point scale how the characteristics of each immersion factor corresponded to their favorite channels. As a result, seven characteristics: 1) familiarity of background, 2) reality of acting, 3)familiarity of material, 4)YouTubers' appearance and 5) voice, 6)multi-sensory, and 7)YouTuber's ability to resemble viewers influenced more than 50% of users' immersion. Although there was no significant difference among categories, the familiarity of the material and the five senses stimulus (YouTube's appearance, voice, audiovisual and surrogate taste) were the most important factors in the entertainment category.

Effects of Camping Programs on Self-efficacy and Sick-role Behavioral Compliance in Juvenile Diabetes Mellitus Patient (소아 당뇨 환자의 캠프 프로그램이 자기효능과 환자 역할 행위이행에 미치는 영향)

  • 당뇨병은 고혈당을 조절 안할 경우에는 돌이킬 수 없는 신체적 합병증은 물론 정신적 손상까지 받지만, 고혈당은 노력만 하면 조절이 가능하며, 정상에 가까울 정도로 조절되면 정상인과 같은 삶을 영위할 수 있다. 그러나 보건의료 전문가의 인슐린 주사 요법, 식사 및 운동요법 등의 일방적인 처방만으로 성공적인 당조절을 기대하기에는 어려움이 있다. 그래서 당뇨병 환자에게 당뇨병이라는 것이 무엇이며, 어떻게 이 병을 스스로 조절할 수 있게 만드느냐가 더욱 중요한 것이다. 따라서 우리나라에서도 당뇨병에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 각 지역과 의료기관마다 다양한 당뇨병 교육 프로그램이 실시되고 있다. 특히 소아 당뇨병 환자는 이러한 전통적인 당뇨병에 관한 교육을 통해서 당뇨병에 관한 지식은 많이 가지고 있지만, 당뇨병 자가 조절을 위한 환자 역할 행위(sick-role behavior)를 변화시키는데는 그다지 성공절이라 할 수 없다. Bandura(1977)는 자기 효능은 ‘할 수 있다는 자신감’으로 수행 성취, 대리 경험, 언어적 설득, 정서적 각성에 관한 정보에 의해 결정된다고 하였다. 따라서 이러한 정보들은 자기 효능을 증진시키기 위한 중재의 방향을 제시해 준다. 오늘날 이러한 정보를 활용한 중재 프로그램 중에서 가정과 학교를 떠나 자연 환경 속에서의 집단 활동을 통하여 사회 학습 경험을 하는 캠프 프로그램에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 캠프에 참여한 당뇨병 아이들은 캠프 활동속에서 다른 동료 아이들이 자신이 갖고 있는 문제들을 성공적으로 해결해 나가는 것을 관찰하여 대리 경험하게 될 때 희망을 가지게 되며, 당뇨병을 가진 다른 동료들과 공통의 경험을 공유할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되어 그들은 자신이 더 이상 혼자가 아니며 남과 ‘다르지’도 않다는 것을 깨닫게 되어 점차 자신감을 가지고 살아갈 수 있게 된다. 본 연구는 캠프 프로그램이 소아 당뇨병의 자기 효능을 증진시키고, 당뇨병 환자 역할 행위 이행 정도를 높여주는지를 규명해 봄으로써, 소아 당뇨병 환자를 위한 효과적인 간호 중재 방안을 제시하고자 비동등성 대조군 전후 실험 설계의 유사 실험 연구를 시도하였다. 1996년 8월 10일 부터 12월 12일까지 종합병원에서 추후 관리하고 있는 소아 당뇨병 환자중 선정 기준에 맞는 환자 41명을 연구대상으로 하였으며, 그 중 19명은 실험군으로 Bandura의 자기 효능 증진을 위한 정보원을 활용한 캠프 프로그램을 5박 6일간에 걸쳐 실시하였고, 다음 22명은 대조군으로 캠프 프로그램을 실시하지 않았다. 자료수집은 자기 효능 척도와 환자 행위 역할 이행 척도를 캠프 프로그램을 실시하기 전에 사전 조사를 하고 중재 후 4주째 사후 조사를 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/PC+로 Chi-square test, t-test, ANCOVA, Pearson correlation을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 캠프 프로그램은 소아 당뇨병 환자의 자기 효능을 증진시키고 환자 역할 행위 이행을 높여주는데 효과적 이었다. 소아 당뇨병 환자의 자기 효능은 환자 역할 행위 이행과 순 상관 관계가 있어, 자기 효능이 증진될수록 환자 역할 행위 이행 정도가 높아졌다.

The Sociological Antecedents of Brand Attachment: A comparison of Broadcasting and Passive Consumption on Social Networking Sites (상표 애착의 사회적 선행변수에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, the authors examine the ways in which social media ultimately affects the attachment of individuals to their favorite brands. Through an analysis of data using multiple linear regression, this study finds that SNS (social networking site) users that post status updates for a wide audience have no bearing on the individual's use of socialization agents. Those who consume social news passively are, however, likely to depend on socialization agents for determining their final purchase decisions. Socialization agents, both personal and non-personal, also play a role in the formation of brand attachment among individuals who depend on these social sources. Based on these results, marketers are encouraged to establish an online footprint of a social nature to formulate brand awareness and to provide a means for users of social media to improve their brand attachments to their favored brands. As this research was conducted exclusively in the predominantly collective culture of South Korea, further studies could attempt to analyze social networking use and socialization agent use via a cross-culture study, particularly one including an individualistic culture.
