공벽유지용 유체에 따른 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 하중전이특성 (Load Transfer Characteristics on Drilled Shafts by Hole Stability Fluids)

  • In most drilled shafts construction sites, it is common, depending on the site condition, to use either water or slurry as fluids for maintaining stability of the holes, however, there are yet no design manuals by hole stability fluids. In this paper, in order to evaluate load transfer characteristics of the drilled shafts by hole stability fluids, two test piles are constructed over the soft ground of the lower Busan Bay based on the Bi-directional Pile Load Test. The test results showed that no ultimate states has found under the condition of applied loads with fresh water and slurry as hole fluids for drilled shafts. Then, the load transfer behavior were estimated with the data measured in fields and the effect of hole stability fluids were compared. All these results are presented in the paper.

대구경 소켓경사반력말뚝의 인발거동에 관한 연구

  • Using the large diameter (D = 2,500mm, L = 40m) batter steel pipe piles, designed as compression piles but used as reaction piles during the static compression load test of socketed test piles (D = 1,000mm, L = 40m), static pile load tests for large diameter instrumented rock-socketed piles were performed. The reaction steel pipe piles were driven 20m into the marine deposit and weathered rock layer and then l0m socketed with reinforced concrete through the weathered rock layer and into hard rock layer. Steel pipe and concrete in the steel pile part, and concrete and rebars in the socketed parts were instrumented to measure strains in each part. The pullout amounts of reaction pile heads were also measured with LVDT. During the static pile load test, total compressional load of about 20MN was loaded on the head of test piles, but load above 20MN was not loaded due to lack of loading capacity of loading system. Over the course of the study, maximum pullout amount up to 7mm was measured in the heads of reaction piles when loaded op to 10MN and 1mm of pullout amount was measured. More than 85% of pullout load was transfered in the residual weathered rock layer and about 10% in the soft rock layer, which was somewhat different transfer mechanism in the static compressional load tests.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the settlement characteristics of large drilled shafts embedded into bed rocks. To perform this research, 35 pile load test results for the large drilled shafts are used, because these deep foundations generally used as substructure systems for grand bridges. In case of the yield load can not be easily determined by load(P)-settlement(S) curve from the pile load test at the maximum loads, the standard settlements which can determine a yield load is established. The residual settlement equation of pile embedded in gneiss and igneous rocks is presented in this study. Also a equation is proposed to characterize the relationship between loads and elastic settlements in pile load tests on the large drilled shaft embedded into bedrock. Then, large drilled shaft's settlement characteristics are examined on pile length, pile diameter and pile's socked depth into rock at the pile tip.

  • When pile foundation constructed by driving method, it is desirable to perform monitoring and estimation of pile drivability and bearing capacity using some suitable tools. Dynamic Pile Monitoring yields information regarding the hammer, driving system, and pile and soil behaviour that can be used to confirm the assumptions of wave equation analysis. Dynamic Pile Monitoring is performed with the Pile Driving Analyser. The Pile Driving Analyser (PDA) uses wave propagation theory to compute numerous variables that fully describe the condition of the hammer-pile-soil system in real time, following each hammer impact. This approach allows immediate field verification of hammer performance, driving efficiency, and an estimate of pile capacity. The PDA has been used widely as a most effective control method of pile installations. A set of PDA test was performed at the site of Donghea-1 Gas Platform Jacket which is located east of Ulsan. The drilling core sediments of location of jacket subsoil are composed of mud and sand, silt. In this case study, the results of PDA test which was applied to measurement and estimation of large diameter open ended steel pipe pile driven by underwater hydraulic hammer, MHU-800S, at the marine sediments were summarized.

수평지반반력계수에 따른 대구경 현장타설말뚝의 수평변위 분석 (Analysis of the lateral displacement to the Large Diameter Bored Pile based on the application of the Lateral coefficient of subgrade reaction)

  • Using the case of design to the Large diameter Bored Pile, We showed the various method to estimate the Lateral coefficient of subgrade reaction and analyzed the lateral displacement behavior according to the characteristics of sub layer distribution. According to the study, Mutual relation to the N value and the soil modulus of deformation showed 400N to 800N to the fine grained soil and weathered soil. It showed simular tendancy with the proposed expression of Schmertmann. But Weathered rock was over estimated as 4,200N. $k_h$ to the sedimentory soil and weathered rock each showed these orded of Schmertmann-PMT-2,800N and Schmertmann-2,800N-PMT. As the factor($\alpha$) 4 was applied to the estimation in weathered rock, $k_h$ to the PMT was calculate as a big value. If the pile is long and the pile is surpported to the soil, Lateral displacement was in inverse proportion ratio to the value of $k_h$. But the case of shallow soil layer(early bedrock) and the short pile, Lateral displacement was affected by the behavior of socheted pile to the bedrock not by the upper soil layer.

  • Post-grouting for the drilled shaft is known to increase the end bearing capacity of pile 2~3 times higher by consolidating and reinforcing the disturbed ground containing slime around the pile end. However, the general design guideline for post-grouting has not been established yet in Korea. Especially in the domestic application, the post-grouting is employed just for repairing the pile with the unacceptable resistance rather than for increasing the design resistance of pile. Therefore, little is reported about the effect of post-grouting on the pile resistance itself. In this study, the effect of post-grouting on the resistance of drilled shafts installed in the weathered rock in Korea was estimated by performing the bi-directional load tests on the piles with and without the post-grouting. The test results presented that the initial slope of end bearing-base displacement curve in the pile with post-grouting was 4 times higher than that without post-grouting. At the acceptable settlement (1% of pile diameter), the end bearing capacities of piles with and without the post-grouting were estimated to be 12.0 MPa and 7.0 MPa, respectively, indicating that the post-grouting could increase the end bearing resistance of pile in weathered rock more than 70%.

  • A lot of long-span marine bridge, which connects land to island or island to island, are being designed and constructed lately in south-west coast in South Korea. In the past, caisson foundations in marine were mainly adopted in construction and stability aspect, however, nowadays with development of pile construction technology, drilled shaft foundations are mainly adopted. As the long span cable stayed bridge and suspension bridge applied with lots of loads are being designed, the scale of pile foundations are getting larger. As the construction cost of substructure including foundation in marine bridges is too high, the appropriate evaluation of the axial bearing capacity of pile becomes a core factor to decide the construction cost of foundation if the drilled shaft is adopted as foundation type of bridge. The evaluation values of skin friction and end bearing capacity of drilled shaft in weathered rock suggested in south Korea are only to introduce the foreign specifications, and most of them are designed in a kind of hard soil layer. Also the allowable load of pile section is less than the expected bearing capacity of pile in the soil condition since the allowable capacity of pile is undervalued. Recently in order to improve this factor the bi-axial hydraulic load test of pile was taken, the data of load transfer analysis of pile, unit of skin friction and end bearing capacity are accumulated. In our country, the design of piles are made with ASD, however, LRFD considering service, strength and extreme state was adopted in Incheon Grand Bridge implemented with BTL, and the research to systematize the resistance coefficient appropriate at home country are being progressed.

교각에 근접한 터널의 안정성 평가 (Safety analysis for the tunnel adjacent to the pier)

  • 유한요소해석과 통계학적인 계측결과 분석법은 교각에 근접한 터널에 대한 효과적인 시공 전후의 안정성 평가 방법이다. 본 사례 연구에서는 이러한 평가방법을 고속철도 현장의 대구경터널에 적용하고 이에 대한 적용성 및 유효성을 평가하였다. 유한요소 해석결과 Pilot공법과 LW그라우팅에 의한 지반보강은 터널의 안정성 증대에 효과적인 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 2차원 해석 시 터널굴착의 재현성을 높이기 위해 3차원 해석을 통해 하중분배율 결정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 초기 계측치의 손실을 해석적 방법을 통해 복구하는 기법 및 계측결과를 통계학적 기법을 통해 모델링하는 방법을 적용하여 계측결과의 신뢰성을 높였다. 연구대상 지역의 경우 계측결과에 대한 회귀분석결과 변위모델함수는 C(t) = a[1-exp(-bt)]가 적합하였으며, 이 식을 적용하여 최종변위를 예측해 본 결과 95%이상 변위가 수렴되어 있는 상태였다. 초기 변위경향에 의한 미계측 구간의 변위량을 추정에 대해서는 직선회귀식에 대한 F-검정을 실시하여 검증하였다. 검증결과 F-값이 10.81∼158.74, 결정계수 0.82∼0.99로 높은 신뢰도를 가지고 있다.

해상풍력기초 신뢰성해석 사례분석 연구 (Case Study on Reliability Analysis of Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation)

  • 기존의 설계방식 및 유한요소법에 의해 모델링된 해상풍력 기초의 거동특성을 비교하였고, 확률론적 측면에서 기초형식에 따른 해석사례를 비교 분석하였다. 동일한 수심 및 지반조건에서 동일한 형식의 기초를 설계할 경우 가정모델에 따른 거동양상을 비교한 결과 지반의 강성을 고려하는 가상고정식과 분포 스프링식은 부재력에 차이가 크지 않은 반면, 이를 고려하지 않는 지반고정식은 상대적으로 부재력이 작게 산정됨으로써 보다 불안정한 설계를 유도하는 경향이 있었다. 다시 말해 기초와 지반의 상호관계는 해석결과에 크게 영향을 미치므로 지반의 강성을 고려함이 합리적이다. p-y 방법과 FEM 모델을 이용하여 각각 동일한 모노파일을 해석한 결과 상 하부에서 상당한 오차가 발생하였고, 특히 직경이 큰 경우에 파일 하부에서의 오차가 크게 나타남으로써 5m 이상의 대구경 모노파일 설계 시는 FEM 등 정밀해석이 병행되어야 하며, 해저지반 특성의 면밀한 고려와 공학적 판단이 필요하다. 트라이포드 및 모노파일 형식의 기초를 동일한 수심 및 지반조건에 대하여 신뢰성을 해석한 결과 트라이포드 형식의 파괴확률이 매우 작게 산정되었고, 모노파일 형식은 파괴확률이 비교적 크게 산정되어 안전도가 낮게 평가될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

병렬 U형 현장타설 에너지파일의 열교환 효율 및 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of Heat Exchange Efficiency and Applicability for Parallel U-type Cast-in-place Energy Pile)

  • 에너지파일은 기존의 수직밀폐형 지중열교환기를 경제적으로 대체할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 지중열교환기이다. 즉, 에너지파일은 건물의 기초 구조물과 지중열교환기의 역할을 동시에 수행하는 에너지 구조체로서, 말뚝 기초 내부에 열교환 파이프를 삽입하고 파이프를 통해 유체를 순환시켜 지반과의 열교환을 유도한다. 본 연구에서는 병렬 U형(5쌍, 8쌍, 10쌍)의 열교환 파이프를 대구경 현장타설 에너지파일에 삽입하여, 3본의 에너지파일을 실규모로 시공하였다. 또한 현장 열응답 시험(In-situ thermal response tests, TRTs)을 수행하고 시공된 현장타설 에너지파일과의 열교환 효율을 비교하기 위하여 30m 깊이의 수직밀폐형 지중열교환기를 별도로 시공하였다. 병렬 U형 현장타설 에너지파일에 대해서는 냉난방 부하를 인공적으로 주입하는 열교환 성능 평가시험을 수행하여 열교환 성능(heat exchange rate)을 평가하였다. 마지막으로 현장타설 에너지파일의 적용성 평가를 위해 산정된 상대 열교환 효율(relative heat exchange efficiency) 및 열교환 성능을 선행 연구 결과와 비교하였으며, 본 연구에서 시공된 현장타설 에너지파일은 안정적이고 효율적인 열성능을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
