㈜대우 건축공법개발팀은 재래식 공법을 혁신적으로 개선하여 인력절감과 공기단축은 물론 설계구조 안정성, 실용성에서 탁월한 우수성이 판명된 DWS공법을 연구 개발하였다. 이 공법의 설비설계 부분은 대일공무㈜에서 연구 개발중에 있다.

Background: Mitral valve replacement(MVR) with chordal preservation in patients with mitral vlavular disease has been proven to be beneficial for left ventricular function and for reduction of postoperative complication. Material and Method: From January 1995 to July 1996, the early postoperative results of mitral valve replacement were compared between 20 patients who underwent chordae resection(classic MVR group) and 10 patients who underwent chordae preservation(preservation MVR group) in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Chunbuk National University Hospital. Result: There was no significant difference between the two groups in age, sex, NYHA functional class, cardiothoracic ratio, echocardiographic finding, cardiopulmonary bypass time and aortic cross clamping time. The difference between preoperative and postoperative cardiothoracic ratio after 3 months was not statistically significant. At echocardiographic left ventricular evaluation, ejection fraction and fractional shortening decreased slightly in the preservation group then preoperative value (p=0.47, p=0.12), however, decreased significantly in the classic MVR group(p=0.03, p=0.04), and were statistically significant between the two groups(p=0.03, p=0.02). Conclusion: We conclude that MVR with chorda preservation seems to have a beneficial effect on postoperative left ventricular performance in mitral valve disease than the classic MVR.

술떡으로 잘 알려진 증편은 막걸리 등의 술을 넣어 발효시켜 부풀려서 찐 떡으로 시큼한 술맛과 새콤하고 달착지근한 맛, 해면상의 조직 특징을 가진 여름떡이다. 전통적으로 증편의 발효원으로 막걸리 등의 술, 누룩, 엿기름 등을 사용하였는데 이때 발효시간이 8~12시간으로 긴 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 발효원으로 막걸리와 dry yeast를 사용하여 전통적인 증편의 시큼한 술맛은 유지하면서 발효시간을 단축시키기 위해 dry yeast의 첨가량을 멥쌀가루의 0.75%, 1.00%, 1.25%, 1.50%, 1.75%로 달리하여 증편의 부푸는 정도, 기계적 특성 및 관능적 특성을 저장기간 동안의 평가하였다.(중략)

We report a case of an 8 years and 11 month-old male patient who had developed severe tricuspid insufficiency(TI) after correction of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery(ALCAPA). Transthoracic echocardiogram and coronary angiography confirmed ALCAPA, ischemic mitral regurgitation and trivial TI. He underwent direct reimplantation of the left coronary artery to the aortic root by using additional cannulation at the main pulmonary artery for arterial inflow and cardioplegia delivery to the left coronary artery. After the correction of ALCAPA, transesophageal echocardiogram(TEE) revealed good antegrade flow at the aortic implantation site of the left coronary artery and severe TI(Gr III-IV/IV). Cardiopulmonary bypass was reestablished and tricuspid valve was repaired with Kay-type annuloplasty, artificial chordae formation and chordal shortening plasty. The postrepair TEE revealed trivial to mild TI.

This study was carried out to determine the effect of uterus shortening on the pvaries, the length of uterine horn and the recovery of embryos. The length of the shortened uterine horns increased more in part of uterine tip from connecting part for shortening than in base (P<0.05), and collection of embryos was also difficult in gilts because of its narrow pelvis. The embryos collected surgically from gilts with shortened uterine horns were developed into 2~8cells (87.5%) 3days and 4cell~morula (88.9%) 5days after mating.

우리나라 공과대학의 학생들은 열악한 환경에서 공부하고 있으며 졸업자 대상 설문조사에서 59%가 현장성이 결여된 이론중심의 교육을 실시하고 있다고 지적하고 있다. 이에 우리의 공학교육은 산업체 적응기간을 단축시키고 신기술 조류를 파악하여 시대 변화에 적응력이 강한 공학인을 양성토록 하고, 특히 현장위주의 교육과정을 도입하고 분야별로 다양한 단계의 산학협동 협의체를 구성하여 실속있는 공학교육을 실현시켜야 하겠다.

Traditional management of comminuted tibia fractures with massive bone and soft tissue defect includes soft tissue coverage and bone grafting. However, this method requires a large flap and a substantial amount of bone graft. Acute shortening can reduce the amount of required soft tissue and bone graft. We report a case of open tibia and fibula fracture with severe bone and soft tissue defect that was successfully treated by acute shortening of the tibia with immediate fibular strut bone graft and then by gradual lengthening of the tibia at its proximal metaphysis.
