  • 배선 재료나 salicide 트랜지스터에 적용될 것으로 기대되는 Cu 배선과 Co 단일층 및 Co/Ti 이중층을 사용하여 형성된 코발트 실리사이드간의 열적 안정성에 대하여 조사하였다. 40$0^{\circ}C$열처리후 Cu3Si 막이 CoSi2층과 Si 기판 사이에 형성되었는데, 이것은 Cu 원자의 확산에 기인한 것이다. $600^{\circ}C$에서의 열처리 후에 형성된 최종막의 구조는 각각 Cu/CoSi2/Cu3Si/Si과 TiO2/Co-Ti-Si 합금/CoSi2/Cu3Si/Si였으며, 상부에 형성된 TiO2층은 산소 오염에 의한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • Ion exchange behavior and property change of soda-lime-silicate glass by advanced ion exchange process were investigated. Refractive index, specific gravity and optical transmittance were changed similarly to $K^+$ ion penetration depth, and amount of ion exchange increased with the increase of the time and temperature. Especially, thermal expansion decreased greatly because of the structural compaction and residual stress by ion exchange process.

  • In this study, Ni and tungsten carbide (WC) nanoparticles are simultaneously synthesized with the mesoporous carbon nanoparticles (CNP) using a solution plasma processing (SPP) in the benzene. The Ni and WC nanoparticles were formed through the sputtering effect of electrodes during discharge, and mean time CNP were formed through reduction reaction. TEM observation showed that loaded Ni and WC nanoparticles were evenly dispersed on the CNP. The results of electrochemical analysis demonstrated that an introduction of Ni nanoparticles promoted to improve catalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Moreover, Ni-WC/CNP lead to fast electron transfer process compared to that of WC/CNP. Therefore, the inexpensive Ni-WC/CNP might be a promising as catalytic material for cathodes in fuel cell applications.

  • 본 강좌에서는 광통신과 센서 분야에서 최근 실용화되고 있는 중요한 소자인 광섬유 격자(fiber grating)에 대해, 그 원리와 종류, 제작 방법, 시뮬레이션 기법, 광통신용 응용 및 광섬유 격자 센서 시스템의 구현 기법 등에 대해 설명한다. 별도로 제공되는 강의록에서 이에 대해 보다 구체적으로 기술할 것인 바, 그 요약은 아래와 같다. 광섬유에 굴절률 변화 패턴을 만들 수 있다는 사실은 1978년 Hill 등에 의해 발견되었고, 1989년 Meltz 등에 의해, 자외선(UV) 레이저를 광섬유 측면에 조사하여 광섬유 코어(core)의 특정 부위에 광섬유 격자를 만드는 방법이 고안되었다. 광섬유에 격자가 새겨지는 원인에 대한 이론은 여러 가지가 있고 이들이 복합적으로 작용하지만, 중요한 요인은 산소가 빠진 게르마늄과 관련된(oxygen deficient germania related) 결함이다. 따라서, 게르마늄(Ge)이 높게 도우핑(doping)된 광섬유에 격자가 잘 새겨진다. 보통의 단일 모드 광섬유도 수소처리(hydrogenation)를 하면 자외선에 대한 광민감성(photosensitivity)을 증가시킬 수 있어 격자의 제작이 가능하다.   • Bi-2212/Ag ROSAT용 와이어의 제작은 PIT법으로 제작된 단일 필라멘트가 사용되었다. 제작된 필라멘트를 압연하여 너비 8.6mm, 두께 2.15mm의 압연 테입을 제조한 후 4개씩 적층하여 3 부분의 마름모로 만들어 다시 내경 17.2mm의 Ag튜브에 적층하여 ROSAT 와이어를 약 150 mm로 제작하였다. 제작된 ROSAT 와이어는 산소분위기에서 약 60시간 동안 열처리 되었다. 이때 열처리 온도와 최고점에서의 유지시간에 따른 Bi-2212/Ag ROSAT 와이어의 전기적 특성을 평가 하였다. 기존의 Bi-2212/Ag 와이어에 비해 압연, 적층, 인발하여 제작된 동일한 크기의 ROSAT 와이어가 향상된 전기적 특성을 나타내었다.

Influence of $TiO_2$ Buffer Layer Thickness on the Electrical and Mechanical Properties of ITZO Films Deposited on Polymer Substrate (Polymer 기판위에 증착된 ITZO 박막의 $TiO_2$ 버퍼층 두께에 따른 전기적, 기계적 특성)

  • ITZO 박막과 $TIO_2$ 버퍼층은 각각 두 개의 캐소드를 사용한 마그네트론 2원동시 방전법과 산소 함량 2%를 사용한 반응성 sputtering 방법으로 각각 증착이 되었다. 모든 박막들은 상온에서 폴리머 기판인 PET에 증착되었다. $TiO_2$ 버퍼층을 도입함으로써 ITZO/$TiO_2$ 박막은 비정질 구조를 보여 주었고, 그것들의 비저항은 버퍼층의 두께가 증가할수록 감소함을 관찰하였다. 특히 기계적 특징은 $TiO_2$ 버퍼층을 5nm 증착하였을 경우에 bending test와 광학 현미경의 crack정도를 관찰함으로써 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 투과율에 있어서 단일 ITZO 박막과 버퍼층을 5nm 도입한 박막은 가시광선에서 약 75%의 투과율을 가짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • Preparative and kinetic photochemical reactions of several benzanilides were studied. Several substituted benzanilides were synthesized by acylation of substituted anilines with substituted benzoyl chlorides. While benzanilide gave a photo-Fries type reaction product, 2-chlorobenzaniline, 2-bromobenzanilide, and 2-methoxybenzanilide gave a photocyclization reaction product, phenanthridone. Since 8-chlorophenanthridone was obtained from 2,2'-dichlorobenzanilide, the carbonyl phenyl is the excited site. Quantum yield of photocyclization of 2-chlorobenzanilide, 2'-chlorobenzanilide, and 2-methoxybenzanilide were obtained. 2-Chlorobenzanilide was photocyclized effectively and 2'-chlorobenzanilide ineffectively. Since the oxygen present in the reaction medium retarded the photocyclization reaction of 2-chlorobenzanilide, the triplet state of 2-chlorobenzanilide is involved. The mechanism of the photocyclization of 2-chlorobenzanilide is suggested: $\pi-complex$ between carbonyl phenyl and N-phenyl was formed from the triplet state of 2-chlorobenzanilide; neighbour phenyl (N-phenyl) assists for leaving of chlorine from carbonyl phenyl to make an intermediate, cyclized conjugated radical, because electron donating group on the N-phenyl ring accelerated the reaction; hydrogen detachment from the intermediate is obviously not a rate determined step because there was no isotope effect on the rate of photocyclization. The photocyclization reaction rate of 2-methoxybenzanilide was faster in the presence of oxygen than in the absence of oxygen. Thus, the singlet excited state of 2-methoxybenzanilide is involved in the reaction. Probably, the intermediate, methoxyhydro-phenanthridone is oxidized by oxygen in the medium to give phenanthridone.

  • The performance of computer systems and the development of various computer simulation programs have made it possible to analyze chemical systems composed of more complex elements, and accordingly, research using molecular dynamics simulation is being actively conducted. Research on calculating the gas permeation characteristics of polymer membranes by molecular dynamics, which was previously conducted mainly through experiments, is receiving attention for gas barrier membranes used in food packaging and pharmaceuticals. Recently, there has been a report that a gas barrier effect appears when a coating film is made using silk fibroin, and in this study, a study was conducted using molecular dynamics simulation to confirm whether an oxygen barrier effect appears when a composite film is made using silk fibroin. We built a single model, calculated the gas permeation characteristics, and compared it with the experimental value to confirm that the model reflects the actual experimental results. Actual composite membrane models were then built and the gas movement path within the polymer was analyzed. As a result, oxygen molecules were found that they could not pass through and was blocked in the fibroin region. Therefore, the composite membrane with silk fibroin has excellent oxygen barrier property and is expected to be useful in food packaging, etc.

Effects of matured silkworm hemolymph on suppressing melanin synthesis (누에 숙잠 혈림프의 멜라닌 생성 억제 효과)

  • In this study, matured silkworm hemolymph was studied for inhibitory effect on melanin formation, tyrosinase activities. A matured silkworm hemolymph mass purification method was developed and some of suppressing melanin formation effects were investigated, too. As a result, the advanced purification method was higher in yield rate than existing one by 53%. A free radical scavenging activity of hemolymph was higher than sericin on the market($IC_{50}$, $202.9{\pm}33.1$) and lower than vitamin C($0.57{\pm}0.02$) by $6.4{\pm}0.3{\mu}g/m{\ell}$. An inhibitory effect on melanin synthesis was higher in hemolymph compared to Morus bark and arbutin by 9.15% and 11.56%, respectively. An inhibitory effect on tyrosinase activity was higher in hemolymph than Morus bark and lower than arbutin. Effect of hemolymph $45{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ on suppressing of tyrosinase was almost 90%. Thus, these results suggest that hemolymph of matured silkworm may have beneficial properties as a material for cosmetics.

Characteristic of Mixing and DO Concentration Distribution in Aeration Tank by Microbubble Supply (마이크로버블 공급에 의한 폭기조내 교반과 용존산소 분포 특성)

  • This study examined the DO concentration distribution and ORP distribution using microbubbles on pilot-scale aeration tanks. As a result of MLSS mixing and oxygen transfer phenomenon using microbubbles, different DO concentrations were observed depending on the circulation of the liquid with the microbubble supply location on the lateral of an aeration tank. The simulation results of CFD (computational fluid dynamics) program showed that MLSS mixed with a microbubble supply in the middle the reactor is much better than on the left side of the reactor. A single reactor containing an anaerobic, anoxic, and aerobic zone, was evaluated without partition according to the location of the microbubble supply based on the experiments and CFD analysis. MLSS was separated into solid-liquid by the microbubble supply in the aeration tank. Consequently, selecting the appropriate microbubble size is important for MLSS mixing and was maintained at the proper DO concentration for biological treatment.
